Because of low flame ion density in hydrogen-air mixture, many residual electric energy could be existed in the ignition system of hydrogen engine, If these residual energy discharged abnormally during intake stroke, it may be the cause of backfire occurrence which is serious problem in development of hydrogen fueled engine but unsolved in spite of many concerned research on it. In this study, the possibility of backfire occurrence by abnormal electric discharge and countermeasure of that were investigated by using the experimental single cylinder hydrogen fueled engine with two types of ignition system. The results show that abnormal electric discharge appeared in low load with low ion density and then results in back fire occurrence, It is also seen that countermeasure method installing larger earth resistance in high tension code is effective to control abnormal electric discharge.

Fire monitoring system detects a fire based on the values of various sensors, such as smoke, CO, temperature, or change of temperature. It detects a fire by comparing sensed values with predefined threshold values for each sensor. However, to prevent a fire it is required to predict a situation which has a possibility of fire occurrence. In this work, we propose a fire recognition system using a fuzzy inference method. The rule base is constructed as a combination of fuzzy variables derived from various sensed values. In addition, in order to solve generalization and formalization problems of rule base construction from expert knowledge, we analyze features of fire patterns. The constructed rule base results in an improvement of the recognition accuracy. A fire possibility is predicted as one of 3 levels(normal, caution, danger). The training data of each level is converted to fuzzy rules by FCM(fuzzy C-means clustering) and those rules are used in the inference engine. The performance of the proposed approach is evaluated by using forest fire data from the UCI repository.

Temperatures of engine head and liner depend on many factors such as spray and combustion process, coolant passage flow and engine related structures. To estimate the temperature distribution of engine structure, multi-dimensional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) codes have been mainly adopted. In this case, it is of great importance to obtain the realistic wall temperature distribution of entire engine structure. In the present work, a CFD-FEM coupling methodology was presented to address this demand. This approach was applied to a real large-size marine diesel engine. CFD combustion and coolant flow simulations were coupled to FEM temperature analysis. Wall heat flux and wall temperature data were interfaced between combustion simulation and solid component temperature analysis via translator by a commercial CFD package named FIRE by AVL. Heat transfer coefficient and surface temperature data were exchanged and mapped between coolant flow simulation and FEM temperature analysis. Results indicate that there exists the optimum cell thickness near combustion chamber wall to reasonably predict the wall heat flux during combustion period. The present study also shows that the effect of cell refining on predicting in-cylinder pressure during combustion is negligible. Hence, the basic guidance on obtaining the wall heat flux needed for the reasonable CFD-FEM coupling analysis has been established. It is expected that this coupling methodology is a robust tool for practical engine design and can be applied to further assessment of the temperature distribution of other engine components.

Hydrogen gas has several merits such as lower ignition energy, wide flammability and shorter quenching distance. It leads to high thermal efficiency but backfire occurrence. In this study, feasibility of expansion of BFL(Back-Fire Limit) equivalence ratio and combustion characteristics by a dilution of hydrogen fuel are experimently examined by using experimental heavy duty single cylinder hydrogen fueled engine. As results, it is found that BFL equivalence ratio is expanded to rich range and torque is increased.

The Propulsion System Integration can be defined as the optimization technology of combining the propulsion system components with the airframe to achieve the overall aircraft misson performance goals. The disposition of propulsion system components on engine compartment enveloped by front fuselage and fire bulkhead is very restricted because of the interference with nose L/G and engine mountig strut. The design of components depends on the traditional technical data base. The engine satisfying a customer's ROC was selected among worldwide existing engines by the comparision studies of performance analysis with enigine installed effect, future growth potential, ILS, and application to aircrafts, etc. The ground test of the propulsion system integration was performed in the test cell and on the aircraft to assure the function of the components. The flight test was performed to confirm complying the performance requirements.
Ensuring swift on-site access to fire engines is crucial in preserving the golden time and minimizing damage. However, various mobility constraints in alleyways hinder the timely entry of fire engines to the fire scene, significantly impairing their initial response capabilities. Therefore, this study analyzed the significant mobility constraints of fire engines, focusing on Seoul, which has many old town areas. By leveraging survey responses from firefighting experts and actual observations, this study quantitatively assessed the frequency and severity of mobility constraint factors affecting the disaster responses of fire engines. Survey results revealed a consistent set of top five factors regarding the frequency and disturbance level, including illegally parked cars, narrow paths, motorcycles, poles, and awnings/banners. A comparison with actual road-view images showed notable consistency between the survey and observational results regarding the appearance frequency of mobility constraint factors in vulnerable areas in Seoul. Furthermore, the study emphasized the importance of tailored management strategies for each mobility constraint factor, considering its characteristics, such as dynamic or static. The findings of this study can serve as foundational data for creating more detailed fire safety maps and advancing technologies that monitor the mobility of fire engines through efficient vision-based inference using CCTVs in the future.

Because ships are very isolated and independent objects when sailing on the ocean, if a fire and smoke occurs, nobody can be sure to escape safely from ship at the moment. On the focus of the relationship between the sight transmissivity by fire smoke density and the life safety, this study performs simulations and experiments, respectively. To evaluate the theoretical evacuation time, CFAST software which is known as a 2 zone model analysis tool is used, and the result is 54 seconds from ECR(Engine Control Room) exit to upper deck exit and 34 seconds from bosun store to upper deck exit. And totally 12 types of experiments are performed with other 10 persons per experiment. As the result, it is cleared that the low sight transmissivity leads to the low life safety and the obstruction which can be happen unexpectedly on the evacuation way on fire makes it worse. At the condition of the smoke density 0%, over 90% people arrive at upper deck exit safely. But with the transmissivity of 8%, 70%(from ECR) and 30%(from bosun store) among experiment persons of each can survive, and with same density and unexpected obstruction, the survival ratio goes down to only 20% and 10%.
Have difficult controversial point to suppress fire effectively by geographical special quality that fire is transmitted and is during the mountain with the fast speed if our country's tradition Buddhist temple makes of most wood and most of construction structure of country importance tradition Buddhist temple are ignited once because combustibility is high as wood. By fire safety supervision improvement way of tradition Buddhist temple cultural heritage in this treatise law and systematic side, Side that is construction room robbers, disaster and prevention of disasters basis system construction and stream tube engine combination check, training courtesy call activity reinforcement present.

Present study deals with performance analysis and experimental investigation of an inert gas generator (IGG) which can be used as effective means to suppress fire. The IGG uses a turbo-jet engine to generate inert gas for fire extinguishing. It is generally known that a less degree of oxygen content in the product of combustion will increase the effectiveness of fire extinguishing. An inert gas generator system with water injection has advantages of suffocating and cooling effects that are very Important factors for fire extinguishing. Some aspects of influencing parameters, such as, air excess coefficient, compressor pressure ratio, air temperature before combustion chamber, gas temperature after combustion chamber, mass flow rate of water injection etc. on the performance of IGG system are investigated.
The purpose of this paper analyzes and studies to improve the failure cases on the computer that one of electronic control elements for engine in liquified petroleum gas vehicle. The first case, it certified the non-starting phenomenon of engine that it's electronic control unit didn't control the fuel for idle speed actuator because of no given action signal in slow-cut solenoid valve. The second case, it knew the bad condition phenomenon of engine and back-fire by the wire melting of ignition coil and firing of transistor being inside ECU. The third case, it certified the action stoping phenomenon of engine and malfunctioning signal for engine ECU because of leakage of current and an excess current by moisture inflowing inside ECU curcuit plate. Therefore, it is thought that will elevate the durability and reliability of engine computer throughout procure of quality.
