  • In tunnel, though the frequency of fire occurrence is relatively lower than other structures, the characteristics of sealed space tends to cause the temperature to rapidly rise to more than $1000^{\circ}C$ within 5 minutes after fire, which might eventually lead to a large fire that usually results in a loss of lives and the damage to the properties, not to mention a huge cost necessary for repair and maintenance after fire. Referring to foreign tunnel fire scenarios, it clarified the heat transfer characteristics of concrete PC panel lining depending on fire intensity (ISO, MHC, RWS), and to identify the range of thermal damage, the evaluation was carried out using ITA standard. As a result, 39mm under ISO fire condition, 50mm under MHC and 100mm under RWS were measured. And when it comes to spalling, 30mm was measured under RWS. When PC panel was designed to serve the support, a fire resistance to the minimum depth of 100mm of the concrete that might be damaged under the fire shall be maintained, and in case of a non-support structure, PC lining shall have at least 100mm thickness.

  • In this study, we study the damage by burning characteristics of insulating material of RCD (Residual Current Device) used in Korea. The insulating materials of RCD manufactured by three manufacturers are used as the sample. We compare and analyze the thermal decomposition characteristics, combustion characteristics and tracking characteristics of samples. The TGA and Mass Loss Calorimeter meeting the requirements for the ISO5660 (Fire tests-Reaction to Fire, part 1) are used for analyzing the thermal decomposition characteristics and combustion characteristics respectively. In addition, the tracking characteristics are analyzed according to standard of KSC IEC 60112 known as the test used for measuring the resistance tracking and comparison tracking indexes. The study results show that the resistance tracking property of insulating material provided by A Company is highest. Also, the test results show that the resistance tracking property of insulating material provided by B Company is lowest. However, the thermal stability of insulating material provided by this company is excellent at high temperature of above $350^{\circ}C$. In addition, the test results show that the thermal stability of insulating material provided by C Company is highest at temperature of below $400^{\circ}C$.

  • This paper derives the fire risk of buildings in Seoul through the prediction of property damage and the occurrence of fires. This study differs from prior research in that it utilizes variables that include not only a building's characteristics but also its affiliated administrative area as well as the accessibility of nearby fire-fighting facilities. We use Ensemble Voting techniques to merge different machine learning algorithms to predict property damage and fire occurrence, and to extract feature importance to produce fire risk. Fire risk prediction was made on 300 buildings in Seoul utilizing the established model, and it has been derived that with buildings at Level 1 for fire risks, there were a high number of households occupying the building, and the buildings had many factors that could contribute to increasing the size of the fire, including the lack of nearby fire-fighting facilities as well as the far location of the 119 Safety Center. On the other hand, in the case of Level 5 buildings, the number of buildings and businesses is large, but the 119 Safety Center in charge are located closest to the building, which can properly respond to fire.

  • Forest damage is a worldwide issue and specially, a forest fire involves damage to itself and causes secondary damage such as a flood etc. However, actually, clear analysis on forest fire damage can be hardly conducted due to difficulty in approaching a forest fire and quite a long period of time for analysis. To overcome such difficulty, recently, forest fire damage has been actively investigated with satellite image data, but it is also difficult to obtain satellite image data fitted to the time a forest fire occurred. In addition, it is burdensome to verify accuracy of the obtained image. Therefore, this study was attempted to look into the damaged districts from forest fires by reference to spectroradiometric characteristics of the obtained vegetation with a spectroradiometer as preliminary work to use satellite image data. To begin with, the researcher analyzed the field survey data each measured 3 months and 6 months after occurrence of a forest fire by judging the extent of the damage through visual observation and using a spectroradiometer in order to investigate any potential errors arising out of one-time visual observation. Besides, in this study, groups showing possibilities that trees might be restored to life and wither to death could be classified on the sampling points where forest fire damage is minor.

  • The study aims to establish a direction for forest ecological restoration by classifying forest types and understanding the ecological characteristics of the Uljin forest area damaged by a large fire in 2022. Hierarchical cluster analysis and indicator species analysis were conducted on 78 survey plots located in the forest fire-affected area, and four forest cover types were derived: P. densiflora pure forests, P. densiflora dominant forests, mixed broad-leaved forests, and Q. variabilis dominant forests. As a result of visually comparing changes in forest types before and after forest fire damage, by classifying data according to whether or not upper dead trees are included, it was confirmed that pine forests, which have a high proportion of pine trees, spread widely due to forest fire damage. However, broad-leaved mixed forests and oyster oak dominant forests showed characteristics of maintaining concentration, indicating that pine forests were severely damaged. As a result of the important value analysis, during the process of natural recovery after a forest fire, the species that appear early in the lower layer are the sprouts of existing species such as Quercus mongolica Fisch. ex Ledeb., Quercus variabilis Blume, Fraxinus sieboldiana Blume, Rhododendron mucronulatum Turcz. The distribution of diameter at breast height by forest cover type showed that among areas with extreme forest fire damage, the proportion of dead trees was relatively high and structural changes were large in P. densiflora pure forests and P. densiflora dominant forests where pine trees had a high distribution ratio. However, if continuous monitoring is carried out in the future with reference to the results of this study and plant data is collected and analyzed from a mid- to long-term perspective, it is believed that it will be used as useful data to promote forest ecological restoration projects in forest fire-affected areas.

  • It is very dongerous for ship‘s fire which occurs from navigating because of it will not be able to expect fire fighting from land so that handle with the oneself to control. Additionally, in the case of passenger ship is more serious for the reason of not only the property damage but also large life accident can be occurred continuously. When the fire occurs, the many smoke to occur simultaneously as well as the heat from combustion process and the poisonous smoke is brought the life damage as the death from suffocation The purpose of this study is to examine the smoke movement characteristics in the ship's indoor spaces with fire size and location An experimental study was carried out with two sized of fires and three typed of fire source locations. As the results, the smoke and heat diffusion characteristics Ms been showed the most quick rise curve in the case of comer type fire.

  • Forest fires in Korea usually start in the fall and occur every year until spring. Most wildfires are human resources that combine topographical characteristics and carelessness, and failure to respond in the initial stage and lack of cleanup are spreading to large-scale wildfires. In order to prevent these wildfires, active cooperation from the public is essential. As can be seen from recent wildfires, the attention of the public is needed above all else because large-scale wildfires in Korea are occurring due to the people's negligence. If a wildfire spreads and becomes large, it causes damage to life and property, and the damage is irreversible. In this study, various methods were used to prevent forest fires and improve initial suppression ability. In order to minimize damage, the model analyzed by the 119 Special Rescue Team in Gangwon, Chungcheong and nearby forest fires was analyzed on the combustion progress and wind direction by time period. The propagation speed by the wind direction was simulated. Until now, most of the wildfires have been extinguished by firefighting, but I hope that the Forest Service will take the lead and maintain coordination with related organizations.

  • In this study, analyzed national forest fire statistics by cause, year, region, and damage scale based on the National Fire Data System. as a result, the main cause of forest fires was the most frequent human error. forest fires occurred in areas with high population density. and it was confirmed that the Widest area of forest damage was Gang-Won province, which is rich in forestry resources. by season, it occurred a lot in spring because of the warm temperature and strong wind and low humidity. such disasters directly damage forest facilities such as house and cultural properties as well as destruction of natural resources. therefore in this study, made a suggestion plan for prevention from forest fire with forest fire prevention comprehensive plan of MFOA.
