트레이용 난연 전력 케이블의 화재특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study of Fire Characteristics of a Tray Flame Retardant Cable)

  • The present study has been conducted to investigate the fire combustion properties and fire behavior of an IEEE-383 qualified flame retardant cable. The reference reaction rate and reference temperature which are commonly used in pyrolysis model of fire propagation process was obtained by the thermo-gravimetric analysis of the cable component materials. The mass fraction of FR-PVC sheath abruptly decreased near temperature range of $250{\sim}260^{\circ}C$ and its maximum reaction rate was about $2.58{\times}10^{-3}$[1/s]. For the XLPE insulation of the cable, the temperature causing maximum mass fraction change was ranged about $380{\sim}390^{\circ}C$ and it has reached to the maximum reaction rate of $5.10{\times}10^{-3}$[1/s]. The flame retardant cable was burned by a pilot flame meker buner and the burning behavior of the cable was observed during the fire test. Heat release rate of the flame retardant cable was measured by a laboratory scale oxygen consumption calorimeter and the mass loss rate of the cable was calculated by the measured cable mass during the burning test. The representative value of the effective heat of combustion was evaluated by the total released energy integrated by the measured heat release rate and burned mass. This study can contribute to study the electric cable fire and provide the pyrolysis properties for the computational modeling.

분말소화기의 내부압력 변화에 따른 제3종 분말소화약제의 침강도 시험 (Analysis of the Sedimentation Status Test for Type-3 Dry Chemical Powder with Changes in Internal Pressure of the Dry Chemical Extinguisher)

  • This study aims to measure sedimentation status change with the changes in internal pressure for dry chemical extinguishers of various use periods and analyze the suitability of the fire extinguishers' performance criteria. When the internal pressure of the fire extinguisher is 0%, 2 out of 10 new dry chemical powders for the 5 elapsed years were noted to be suitable, including 3 recycled dry chemical powders with 5 elapsed years that were found eligible. One out of 10 new dry chemical powders for 10 elapsed years was shown as suitable. Also, one new dry chemical powder for 13 elapsed years was suitable. When the internal pressure of the fire extinguisher was 50%, all 10 out of 10 new dry chemical powders for 5 years, recycled one with 5 elapsed years, and a new one with 10 elapsed years were found to be suitable, while 9 new dry chemical powders for 13 years were shown as suitable. When the internal pressure of the fire extinguisher was normal, new ones with 5 elapsed years, recycled ones with 5 elapsed years, new ones with 10 elapsed years, and new ones with 13 elapsed years were all 10 out of 10 samples noted as suitable. In summarizing the experiment results, it was found that the sedimentation status, one of the fire extinguisher's physical properties experiments, affects the fire extinguisher's performance criteria rather than the change with use periods.

화재감지기의 응답특성 평가를 위한 Shield-cup이 적용된 시험방법 (Test Method Using Shield-cup for Evaluating Response Characteristics of Fire Detectors)

  • 성능위주 화재안전설계에서 요구 피난시간(Required safe egress time, RSET)의 정확한 평가를 위해서는 화재감지기 작동시간에 대한 정확한 예측이 필수적으로 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 실험 및 수치해석을 통해 화재감지기의 작동시험에 널리 적용되고 있는 Plunge test의 문제점이 검토되었다. 또한 이를 개선시킬 수 있는 새로운 Shield-cup test가 제안되었다. 측정의 정확성 및 재현성 확보를 위하여 개발된 Fire detector evaluator (FDE)가 적용되었다. 주요 결과로서, Plunge test에서는 감지기가 투입되는 순간에 급격한 유동변화로 인하여 연기감지기의 작동시간에 큰 측정오차가 발생되었으며, Shield-cup test에서는 감지기 노출 과정에서 장치 내부의 유동 변화가 거의 확인되지 않았다. 결론적으로 Shield-cup test는 모사된 화재환경에서 화재감지기의 응답특성을 보다 정확히 평가하는데 상당히 유용할 것으로 기대된다.

절연링형 금속플렉시블호스(CSST)의 저항 특성 및 신뢰성 평가 (The Resistance Characteristics and Reliability Evaluation of an Insulation Ring Type of Corrugated Stainless Steel Tubing(CSST))

  • This paper has analyzed the structure, applicable regulations and the resistance characteristics of insulation ring type of CSST (Corrugated Stainless Steel Tubing for Gas). With the flammability test conducted in accordance with KS C IEC 60811-1-1, the evaluation of insulation resistance, temperature characteristics, and reliability has been conducted. An insulation ring type CSST consists of protective coating, tube, nut, insulation ring, packing, socket, and ball valve. Connecting an insulation ring type CSST to gas tubings for gas appliance is not permitted, moreover, the product shall be installed inside a sleeve pipe in case of buried installation such as the ceiling. Damages on protective coating and tube were detected when fire was applied to the test sample with a portable torch for 60 seconds. The insulation resistance of a normal product was $49.59M{\Omega}$, while that of the product completed the flammability test reduced to $9.21M{\Omega}$. The mean insulation resistance within the confidence Interval of 95% using the mini tap program 17 was $49.59M{\Omega}$ and the mean insulation resistance within the confidence interval reduced to $9.21M{\Omega}$. In the normal distribution analysis of 95% confidence interval, the value-P of the normal product was stable at 0.075 and AD(Anderson-Darling) statistic value was turned out to be 0.063, which is very normal, and the standard deviation was analyzed as 0.2586. The value P of the product completed the flammability test resulted in 0.005, the AD was 1.355 and the standard deviation reduced to 0.07908.

반응시간지수(Response Time Index)를 이용한 국내 화재감지기 등급분류에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Classification of Domestic Fire Detector using Response Time Index)

  • This paper presents classification of domestic fire detector using response time index. Response time is measured using fire detector distributed in Korea, and the response time index is estimated. Plunge test prescribed by FM is conducted to measure response time of fire detector. The detector used to test is fixed temperature type(thermistor and bimetal type) and rate of rise temperature type(thermistor and pneumatic type). The nominal operation temperature of fixed temperature type detector is $70^{\circ}C$ and rate of rise temperature is $15^{\circ}C/min$. The fixed temperature type is measured 7 products, and the rate of rise temperature type is measured 5 products. The results show that in case of fixed temperature type(thermistor) is classified "Quick" or "Standard" and fixed temperature type(bimetal) is not classified. The rate of rise temperature type(thermistor) is classified "Fast" or "Ultra Fast" and the rate of rise temperature type(pneumatic) is classified "Very Fast" or "Ultra Fast". The pneumatic type shows more fast response than thermistor type. Also these results indicate the fixed temperature type(bimetal) is not suitable for early stage fire detection.

소방 안전모의 안전도 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on Evaluation to Safety of Fire-proof Safety Helmet)

  • 본 논문에서는 산업안전 공학의 중요부분의 하나인 산업안전모와 화재진압시 소방관들이 쓰는 방수모의 안전도가 어느 정도인가를 각종 실험장치를 50cm. 100cm, 120cm, 높이의 변화를 주어 가면서 같은 중량으로 낙하시켜 물체에 의한 낙하시 충격에 견디는 힘의 상태. 주파수 분석기에 의한 강도 및 bend의 응답신호 등을 연구하였다. 그 결과 안전모와 스프링상수와 관계, 두뇌부분과 지면사이에서의 충격흡수력. 탄성력 등이 어느 정도인가를 수식 및 실험을 통해 알아봤을 때 산업현장에서 사용하는 안전모보다는 방수모의 탄성력과 강도력이 컸으며 또한 충격흡수력도 양호하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 Goldsmith, W.의 “Response of a realistic human head-neck model to impact” Vol.100. 1978. pp.25-52의 실험연구결과 기준치를 보면 인간두뇌에 충격물체로 부터 전달되는 충격파의 흡수력은 뇌파의 신경을 파손시키지 않으려면 최소한도의 주파수범위가 400Hz, 증폭화 0.00310 이하 이여야 된다고 역설하였다. 그러나 우리나라의 방수모 강도의 안전성 및 bend의 충격흡수력은 410-810Hz의 주파수치가 나타났다. 고층에서 일정중량의 물체로 충격을 받았을 때 어느 정도로 흡수력을 방수모 bend에서 받아들어야만 두뇌신경에 충격적인 영향을 끼치지 않나 하는 우리 실정에 맞는 기준치가 설정되어야만 할 것으로 안다. Goldsmith ,W. 박사의 연구결과에 의한다면 국내에서 생산되는 산업안전모보다는 강도 및 충격흡수력이 양호하나 국제수준에는 못미치고 있었다. 이제 우리 방수모도 강도뿐만 아니라 방수모 내부의 bend 즉, 방수모와 두부 사이에 충격흡수력 장치를 좀더 과학적인 실험방법으로 개선되어 화재 진압시 물체낙하로 인한 두부보호에 좀더 노력을 기울일 필요가 있어야 될 것이다. 한편 방열복을 입은 상태에서 불길에 뛰어 들었을시 내부의 온도변화, 인체에 미치는 영향 등은 실험장치 불족으로 많은 문제점이 발생, 보다 심층의 연구가 필요할 것을 인식하였으나 뒤로 미룬채 마무리 지었다.

국민안전처 소방안전분야 연구개발사업(2012년~2014년)의 성과분석 (Accomplishment Analysis of the Fire Fighting and Safety Research Development Program Supported by Ministry of Public Safety and Security (2012-2014))

  • 국민안전처에서 수행하고 있는 소방안전 연구개발사업 주요 내역사업으로는, 화재예방 및 경계기술개발, 특수재난 진압 대응 기술개발, 인명 구조 구급 및 현장대응요원 안전확보 기술개발 등 세개 내역사업으로 구성되어 2007년부터 수행하고 있다. 주요 성과지표로는 (1) 국내외 특허, 실용신안, 디자인(의장) 등 산업재산권 출원/등록 건수 (2) 현장실험, 상용화를 위한 성능기준 확보, 시제품 개발, 소프트웨어 등록, 기술료 발생건수 (3) 수행과제와 관련하여 국내외 학술지에 게재된 연구논문 및 수행과제 결과물을 이용한 정책활용 건수 (4) 연구과제 수행기간 동안 발생된 고용창출 및 인력양성 실적 등으로 구성되어 있다. 본 연구에서는 2012년부터 2014년까지 수행한 소방안전분야 연구개발사업의 특허 성과, 논문 성과, 소프트웨어 등록 성과에 대해 조사 분석하였다.

표준형 및 속동형 스프링클러헤드의 반응시간지수와 소화성능 (Response Time Index and Suppression Capability of Standard and Quick Response Sprinkler Head)

  • In this study, response time index(RTI) of standard and quick response type sprinkler head are measured and compared through ramp and plunge test in heated wind tunnel. Also discharge rate and water distribution, actual delivered density(ADD), fire test with wood cribs are performed to compare the fire suppression capability and the operation time and temperature between standard and quick response type sprinkler head.

자동차용 모바일 폰 충전 케이블의 발화 안전성에 관한 연구 (A Study on safety against a fire of charging cable for mobile phone for vehicle)

  • This paper describes result of a study on safety against a fire of charging cable for mobile phone for vehicle. Combustion on the USB cable in the car was happened while driving. Gas coming from the burning USB cable could be a reason which can make a secondary car accident since the driver also can be embarrassed while driving. In order to prevent a secondary car accident connected on the road, to research a reason why USB cable can emit gas and be burned in charging. We did simulation test with abnormal fault condition for the electronic component on the board in the USB cable. So we get the result from abnormal fault condition simulation test, for instance, shorted test for output terminal of 8 pin switch, shorted test for chip resistor after thermal aging in the condition $25^{\circ}C$, 93 % RH during 48 hours. To analysis the result of all test, Combustion on the USB cable was not the 8 pin but other electrical component such as a chip resistor. Therefore we guess that the reason for USB cable combustion in charging in a car was not 8 pin and a LED but another defective component.

도로터널내 연기거동 및 피난에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study of Smoke Movement and Evacuation in Road Tunnel)

  • Recently, According to increased tunnel accident, a matter of concern in tunnel fire safety is on an interesting trend. In case of tunnel fire, Evacuation is a primary factor for refugee safety. Therefore safety measures should be taken to increase capability of evacuation. Evacuation walking speed and characteristics of movement in tunnel is differ from building or outdoor site so, these characteristics must be considered in tunnel safety planning. In this study has performed to evaluate the smoke movement and characteristics of evacuation by full-scale test method. and aimed for basic data establishment in characteristics of evacuation for tunnel safety system design.
