탄소강의 펄라이트 변태에 대한 유한요소 해석 (Finite Element Analysis for Pearlite Transformation of Carbon Steel)

  • The object of the research is to estimate for pearlite structure of quenched carbon steels. The effects of temperature on physical properties metallic structures and the latent heat by phase transformation were considered. In this study a set of constitutive equations relevant to the analysis of thermo-elasto plastic materials with pearlite phase transformation during quenching process way presented on the basis of continuum thermo-dynamics. The iso-thermal transformation curve of the SM50C was formlated by cubic spline curve. The formulated equations of evolution in pearlite transformation was used for structure analysis. The volume fraction of pearlite was obtained from the results of calculated metallic structure by Finite element equation.

  • Densification behavior of mixed copper and tool steel powder under cold compaction was investigated. By mixing the yield functions originally proposed by Fleck-Gurson for pure powder, a new mixed yield functions In terms of volume fractions and contact numbers of Cu powder were employed in the constitutive models. The constitutive equations were implemented into a finite element program (ABAQUS) to compare with experimental data. and with calculated results from the model of Kim et at. for densification of mixed powder under cold isostatic pressing and cold die compaction. Finite element calculations by using the yield functions mixed by contact numbers of Cu powder agreed better with experimental data than those by volume fractions of Cu powder.

  • Effective properties of ceramic matrix plain woven textile composites were calculated using finite element analysis. The considered geometry is a unit cell of plain weave and the analysis was performed by commercial finite element program, ANSYS. The materials for analysis are 3 types for matrix, 1 type for fiber with various volume fraction. The result indicates that the effective properties of ceramic matrix composites can be controlled by the volume fraction. The result can be used for numerical analysis using ceramic matrix composites.

Flexural behaviour of fibre reinforced geopolymer concrete composite beams

  • An experimental investigation on the behaviour of geopolymer composite concrete beams reinforced with conventional steel bars and various types of fibres namely steel, polypropylene and glass in different volume fractions under flexural loading is presented in this paper. The cross sectional dimensions and the span of the beams were same for all the beams. The first crack load, ultimate load and the loaddeflection response at various stages of loading were evaluated experimentally. The details of the finite element analysis using "ANSYS 10.0" program to predict the load-deflection behavior of geopolymer composite reinforced concrete beams on significant stages of loading are also presented. Nonlinear finite element analysis has been performed and a comparison between the results obtained from finite element analysis (FEA) and experiments were made. Analytical results obtained using ANSYS were also compared with the calculations based on theory and presented.

  • We let (M,g) be a noncompact complete Riemannina manifold of dimension $n \geq 3$ with finite volume and positive scalar curvature. We show the existence of a conformal metric with constant positive scalar curvature on (M,g) by gluing solutions of Yamabe equation on each compact subsets $K_i$ with $\cup K_i = M$ .

구리지역의 홍수범람해석 (Numerical Simulations of Flood Inundations in Guri)

  • In this study, flood inundations have been simulated by using the numerical model FLUMEN solving the shallow-water equations with a finite volume method. Before applying to a real problem, the numerical model is first applied to simplified problems. Obtained numerical results are verified by comparing to available analytical solutions and laboratory measurements. Reasonable agreements are observed. The model is then applied to a simulation of flood events with real geometries. The results of the present study provide basic informations for a flood inundation map.

  • We investigate the estimation of the moisture transfer coefficients in porous media by optimization technique which minimizes the functional defined by the squares error of the numerical solution of an inverse diffusion problem from their experimental values of the moisture content at the some time-steps. In this paper, we solve a diffusion equation numerically by the control volume finite element methods.

  • We prove that if a given complete Riemannian manifold is roughly isometric to a complete Riemannian manifold satisfying the volume doubling condition, the Poincar inequality and the finite covering condition at infinity on each end, then every positive harmonic function on the manifold is asymptotically constant at infinity on each end. This result is a direct generalization of those of Yau and of Li and Tam.

  • The infrared radiation of exhaust plume was investigated numerically by a finite volume method (FVM) with anisotropic scattering particles. The exhaust plume is considered to absorb, emit and scatter radiant energy isotropically as well as anisotropically. The spatial and spectral distribution characteristics were obtained for the detection wavelength with $2.7{\mu}m$. The radiative intensities were presented for the different detective direction.

  • This paper presents an assessment of vertex-centered and cell-centered finite-volume methods on unstructured meshes. The results indicate that the vertex-centered method is more reliable than the cell-centered method.
