The Synthesis of High-purity Zirconia Powders and Its Properties (Compaction and Sintering Behaviro as a Function of Granulation Methods) (고순도 지르코니아 분말의 합성 및 그 특성 (조립방법에 따른 성형 및 소결 특성))

  • Ccompaction and sintering behavior of highly pure PSZ powders were investigated by laying the stress on the granulation processes. The particle size of coprecipitated PSZ powder was so fine that the agglomeration was severely formed during drying and calcing step and by this agglomeration differential sinering was occurred. The methanol dispersion of precipitates was the good method of avoiding severe agglomeration formed during drying process because of small surface tension than water. But perfect deagglomeraton was not possible due to high surface area of powders. So homogenization by granulation was needed, and among the method spray granulation was the most desirable to obtain homogeneous compacts and subsequent flaw-free ceramics.

  • Soils behave non-linearly at high strain. This study investigated the non-linear behavior of silty sands (Mixture of Ottawa Sand and Quartz Powder) by resonant column tests. The results were ·compared with Ramberg-Osgood's non-linear equation. From the tests, it was shown that the change of shear modulus and damping ratio was more sharp at low fine content, high void ratio and low confining pressure. It was also found that famberg-Osgood parameter, R was approximately 2.0, however the range of C varied from 200 to 3200.

  • 전기 및 전자산업의 발달과 더불어 규석 관련 제품에 대하여 고기능성 초미립 분말이 요구되고 있으며, 한편으로는 취급과 활용성이 우수한 형상인 구형 분말을 요구하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 평균 입도 1.0$\mu\textrm{m}$이하의 규석 초미립 분말 제조기술 개발과 유기용매 및 계면활성제 등을 첨가하여 형상이 구형인 기능성 분말과 항균, 항곰팡이 효과가 우수한 교질 상태의 실리카를 제조하여 기능성 재료 및 코팅용 실란 등에 활용이 가능하도록 물리적 단순공정을 통하여 평균 입도 1.0$\mu\textrm{m}$이하의 초미립 규석분말을 제조함으로써 고무, 타이어, 토너, 도료, EMC(epoxy molding compound) 등의 충전제, 이형제, 연마재 등으로 활용이 가능하게 하였으며 제조된 규석 초미립 분말은 분산성이 양호하도록 spray dryer 방법으로 건조하여 각 제품에 알맞은 적용이 용이하도록 하였다.

  • Waste concrete powder(WCP) has been estimated with a great value-added material as by-product of waste concrete manufactured to fine and coarse aggregate for concrete, because it is able to utilized for cement clinker and concrete admixture. In the experimental results for this study, chemical composition of WCP was similar to that of cement, and specific gravity of WCPs were 2.46 and 2.48 due to internal micro-void of WCP. Final setting of paste with WCP was delayed, and flow value of mortar with WCP was tendency to reduced in comparison with that of paste and mortar with only ordinary portland cement as replacement ratio of WCP increased. Furthermore, sorptivity of mortar with WCP was increased as replacement ratio of WCP increased. Compressive strength of mortar with $15\%$ WCP was developed about 27MPa at 28days.

  • The oxidation behavior of UO$_2$pellets was studied using a thermogravimetric analyzer and an XRD in the temperature range of 300 to 550$^{\circ}C$ in air. From XRD studies it is found that UO$_2$is converted to U$_3$O$\_$8/ and the weight gains of UO$_2$specimen are characterized by S-shape curves. After complete oxidation the specimens broke into fine powder and the average weight gain was about 3.93 wt%. The activation energy of 50% conversion of UO$_2$to U$_3$O$\_$8/ is 81.6 kJ/mol and the oxidation rate per unit time was found to be as follows dw/dt=6.54${\times}$10$\^$6/ e (equation omitted), wt%/h : at 50% conversion of UO$_2$into U$_3$O$\_$8/ where w, t and T were wt% gain, conversion time and temperature, respectively.

Preparation of fine PZT powder and low temperature sintering by two stage calcination method (2단계하소법에 의한 미립 PZT분말의 합성과 저온소성)

  • 2단계하소법에 의해 낮은 하소온도에서 미세하고도 균일한 PZT분말을 합성하였다. 우선 Zr $O_{2}$와 Ti $O_{2}$ 혼합분말을 1차하소하여 (Z $r_{0.53}$ $Ti_{0.47}$) $O_{3}$(ZTO) 분말을 합성하고 이 ZTO 고용분말에 PbO와 N $b_{2}$ $O_{5}$을 혼합한 후 650-800.deg.C에서 2시간 하소하여 PZT 분말을 합성하였는데 얻어진 분말은 고상반응법에 비해 미세할 뿐만 아니라 XRD 분석결과 710.deg.C의 낮은 하소온도에서도 PZT 단일상을 나타내었다. 2단계하소법에 의해 하소온도를 낮출 수 있는 주된 이유로는 고상반응법에서는 중간생성물인 PbTi $O_{3}$상의 생성이 수반됨으로 850.deg.C 이상 되어야만 안전한 PZT가 생성될 수 있는 점을 들 수 있다. 또 2단계하소법에 의하면 950.deg.C이하의 낮은 소결온도에서도 치밀화가 미루어지는 소결이 가능함을 알 수 있었는데 이와같이 소결온도를 낮출 수 있는 것은 고상반응법에 비해 미세한 PZT 분말을 사용하였기 때문이라 풀이된다.이된다.

  • Very fine cobalt oxide xerogel and ambigel powder were prepared using a unique solution chemistry associated with the sol-gel process. The mesoporous structure of the initial gel is maintained by removing fluid under conditions where the capillary forces that result extraction are either low or no existent, are either low or nonexistent. Controlling both the pore and solid architecture on the nanoscale offers a strategy for the design of supercapacitor. The results materials determine by using electrode that mixed ketjen black and PVdF. But CoO$\_$x/ have the low voltage, so we experimente to change electrolyte and various concentration.

Properties of Concrete Containing third binary mineral Admixture (3성분계 혼화재료로 사용한 콘크리트 특성)

  • This study was performed to evaluate the characteristics of workability and strength of the concrete containing mineral admixtures such as flyash, blast furnace slag, zeolite powder. As a result, considering their workability and strength, the optimum replacement ratio of them to plain concrete were obtained for each ternary admixture. This increased compressive strength was ascribed to both the closer parkinof fine particles and pozzolan reactivity of powders. This work showed that could be effectively utilized as a blending material without any decrease in the strength of early hydration stage. On the other hand, we found that the compressive strength at early ages ternary ordinary and high strength concrete untill 7 days was small, but that ternary concrete at 28days was highly increased about 31% and 15% extent.

Grain Boundary Behavior and Heat Treatment Effect of AlN Ceramics Prepared from Al-isopropoxide (Al-isopropoxide로부터 AlN 소결체의 입계상 거동 및 열처리 효과)

  • Fine AlN powder was synthesized by carbothermal reduction and nitridation of alumimun hydroxide prepared from Al-isopropoxide. AlN ceramics with Y2O3 and CaO were prepared by hot-pressing under the pressure of 30 MPa at 180$0^{\circ}C$ for 1 h in N2 atmosphere. Grain boundary behavior and purification mechanism of AlN lattice were examined by heat treatment of AlN ceramics at 185$0^{\circ}C$ for 1-6 h in N2 atmosphere. AlN ceramics without sintering additives showed poor sinterability. However, Y2O3-doped and CaO-doped AlN ceramics were fully densified nearly to theoretical density. As the heat treatment time increased, c-axis lattice parameter increased. This is attributed to the removal of Al2O3 in AlN lattice. This purification effect of AlN attice depended upon the quantity of secondary oxide phase in the inintial stage of heat treatment and the heat treatment time.

  • Nickel(Ni) powders were prepared from the mixture of nickel chloride and magnesium stearate by a hydrogen reduction process, and the effect of reaction temperature and the addition of magnesium stearate on the chracteristics of the powders were investigated. The effect of size reduction of nickel particles was observed in the presence of magnesium stearate owing to the inhibition of excess growth of paricles. The size reduction and the degree of agglomeration of the particles affected by the amounts of liqiud phase, which related to the increase of magnesium stearate.
