The qualify of lightweight aggregate made from waste PET bottle(WPLA) and the workability, the unit weight and strength property of concrete with WPLA were investigated for the purpose of recycling the waste PET bottles as lightweight concrete fine aggregate. This study indicated a good result that WPLA should be replaced with less than $50\%$ of natural fine aggregate. When WPLA was replaced with $50\%$ of natural fine aggregate, the specific gravity and water absorption of mixed fine aggregate were greatly reduced about 23 and $75\%$ respectively in comparison with those of river sand. The quality of WPLA affected on the properties of lightweight aggregate concrete. The workability of fresh concrete with WPLA(WPLAC) was improved with increasing the replacement ratio of WPLA and water cement ratio. Slump increasing ratio of the former showed about $45 {\~} 120\%$ because that a specific gravity of fine aggregate was decreased from 2.6 to 1.7. The unit weight of concrete with $75\%$ WPLA was decreased about $17\%$ in comparison with that of control concrete. Furthermore, the compressive strength of concrete with 25 and $50 \%$ WPLA at the age of 28 days increased higher than 30 MPa regardless with water cement ratio (W/C=45, 49 and $53\%$) of this study. Specific strength of concrete with $25\%$ WPLA, $15.11{\times}10^3 MPa{\cdot}m^3/kg$, was higher than that of contro concrete in water cement ratio of $49\%$. The compressive strength-splitting tensile strength ratio and compressive strength-modulus of elasticity ratio of WPLAC were similar to that of nomal lightweight aggregate concrete. This results showed a good estimation that WPLA will be able to recycled as a fine aggregate for lightweight concrete.

In this study, the characteristics of the dust emission according to the presence or absence of operation of the gas stove were analyzed by particle size analysis and density estimation while the mackerel was cooked while the fan was placed on the gas stove used in the home. The experiment was carried out using 20 mackerel of normal size at home. Commercially available canola oil was used as edible oil. In order to understand the characteristics such as particle size distribution of fine dust, light scattering measurement method which can be measured at intervals of several seconds was used. Particles generated by combustion of gas stove, particles formed by heating cooking oil, and particles generated by heating mackerel fish meat are judged to be nano size particles smaller than $1{\mu}m$. Therefore, it is necessary to use precise measurement method rather than the measurement method using the filter which is currently being measured in the measurement of the particles discharged from the fuel combustion or food cooking in the future. Analyzing the particle size and density of the dust emitted from the cooking stove is expected to contribute technically to the reduction of dust emissions from the cooking process of gas and fuel facilities at home and commercial facilities.
Mechanochemical effects that occurred in the fine grinding process of quartz particles using planetary ball mill was investigated. Quartz particles have been frequently utilized for optical materials, semiconductor molding materials. We determined that grinding for a long time can be create amorphous structures from the crystalline quartz by Mechanochemical effects. But, to be produced nano-composite particles that the critical grinding time reached for composite materials in a short time. Henceforth, a qualitative estimation must be conducted on the filler for EMC(Epoxy molding compound) materials. It can be produced mechanochemically treated composite materials and also an integrated grinding efficiency considering of the nano-composite amorphous structured particles. The mechanochemical characteristics were evaluated based on particle morphology, size distribution, specific surface area, density and the amount of amorphous phase materials into the particle surface. The grinding operation in the planetary ball mill can be classified into three stages. During the first stage, initial particle size was reduced for the increase of specific surface area. In the second stage, the specific surface areas increased in spite of the increase in particle size. The final stage as a critical grinding stage, the ground quartz was considered mechanochemically treated particles as a nano- composite amorphous structured particles. The development of amorphous phase on the particle surface was evaluated by X-ray diffractometry, thermal gravity analysis and IR spectrometer. The amount of amorphous phase of particles ground for 2048 minutes was 85.3% and 88.2% by X-ray analysis and thermal gravity analysis, respectively.
This study investigates the potentials of satellite, ground measurement data, and geo-spatial information within an urban area for the mapping of the Urban Environmental Quality (UEQ) parameters. The UEQ indicates a complex and various parameters resulting from both human and natural factors, which are greenness, climate, air pollution, the urban infrastructure, and etc. Multi-spectral remote sensing data from the Landsat ETM and TM sensors for the mapping of air pollution by the Haze Optimized Transform (HOT) technique, Urban Heat Island (UHO using the emissivity-fusion method in Seoul from 2000 to 2006 in fine resolution (30m) were analyzed for the estimation of UEQ index. Although the UHI values are similar ($8.4^{\circ}C{\sim}9.1^{\circ}C$) during these years, the spatial coverage of "hot" surface temperature (> $24^{\circ}C$) significantly increased from 2000 to 2006 due to the rapid urban development. Furthermore, high correlations between vegetation index and land surface temperature were achieved with a correlation coefficients of 0.85 (2000), 0.81 (2001), 0.84 (2002), and 0.89 (2006), respectively. It was found that the proposed method was successfully analyzed spatial structure of the UEQ and the scenarios of the best and worst areas within the city were also identified. Based on the quantifiable fine resolution satellite image parameters, UEQ can promote the understanding of the complex and dynamic factors controlling urban environment.

The global navigation satellite system (GNSS) is using a direct sequence/spread spectrum (DS/SS) modulation. In order to recover the information data, the DS/SS system first performs a two-step synchronization process: acquisition and tracking. The acquisition process adjusts the phase difference between the received and locally generated acquisition sequences within ${\pm}T_c/2$ or less, where $T_c$ is the chip period. The tracking process performs fine synchronization. In this paper, we focus on the tracking issue. The single delta delay locked loop($\Delta$-DLL) is the optimal tracking scheme for a GNSS in the absence of multipath signals, where $\Delta$ means the spacing between the early and late correlation time offset. In the multipath environments, however, the $\Delta$-DLL suffers from huge estimation bias(denoted by $\beta$) caused by distorted correlation values. Although some modified schemes such as a $\Delta$-DLL with a narrow $\Delta$ and a double delta DLL (${\Delta}^{(2)}$-DLL) were proposed to reduce the estimation bias, they cannot remove the estimation bias completely and need more accurate acquisition process. This paper proposes a novel tracking scheme that can dramatically reduce the estimation bias, using the maximum slope change among the correlation outputs.
Recently, there has been a growing interest in zero-shot cross-lingual transfer, which leverages cross-lingual language models (CLLMs) to perform downstream tasks that are not trained in a specific language. In this paper, we point out the limitations of the data-centric aspect of quality estimation (QE), and perform zero-shot cross-lingual transfer even in environments where it is difficult to construct QE data. Few studies have dealt with zero-shots in QE, and after fine-tuning the English-German QE dataset, we perform zero-shot transfer leveraging CLLMs. We conduct comparative analysis between various CLLMs. We also perform zero-shot transfer on language pairs with different sized resources and analyze results based on the linguistic characteristics of each language. Experimental results showed the highest performance in multilingual BART and multillingual BERT, and we induced QE to be performed even when QE learning for a specific language pair was not performed at all.
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are one of the nanomaterials that were discovered by Iijima in 1991 for the first time. CNTs have long cylindrical and axi-symmetric structures. CNTs are made by rolling graphene sheets. Because of their large length-to-diameter ratio, they are called nanotubes. CNTs are categorized as single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) or multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) based on the shell structures. CNTs are broadly used in various fields, such as scanning probe microscopy, ultra fine nano balance and medicine, due to their extraordinary thermal conductivity, electrical and mechanical properties. Because long, straight CNTs have the same shape as asbestos, which cause cancer in cells lining the lung, there have been many studies on the effects of MWCNTs on human health that have been conducted. Stable atomization of CNTs is very important for the estimation of inhalation toxicity. In the present study, electro-static assisted axial atomizer (EAAA), which is the instrument that uses MWCNTs and aerosolizes them by transforming the single fiber shape using ultrasonic dispersion and electric field, was invented. EAAA consists of a ultrasonic bath for dispersion of MWCNTs and a particle generator for atomizing single fibers. The performance evaluation was conducted in order to assess the possibilities of 6-hour straight atomization with stability, which is the suggested exposure time in a day for the estimation of inhalation toxicity.

High-resolution atmospheric numerical system was set up to simulate the motion of the atmosphere and to produce the wind map on land. The results of several simulations were improved compare to the past system, because of using the fine geographical data, such as terrain height and land-use data, and the meteorological data assimilation. To estimate surface maximum wind speed when a typhoon is expected to strike the Korea peninsula, wind information at the upper level atmosphere was applied. Using 700hPa data, wind speed at the height of 300m was estimated, and surface wind speed was estimated finally considering surface roughness length. This study used formula from other countries and estimated RMW but RMW estimation formula apt to Korea should be developed for future.
In order to clarify the characteristics of satellite based sea wind data assimilations applied for the estimation of wind resources around the Korean peninsula, several numerical experiments were carried out using WRF. Satellite sea wind data used in this study are QuikSCAT from NASA and ASCAT from ESA. When the wind resources are estimated with data assimilation, its estimation accuracy is improved clearly. Since the band width is broad for QuikSCAT, statistical accuracy of the estimated wind resources with QuikSCAT assimilations is better than that with ASCAT assimilations. But the wind estimated around sub-satellite point matches better with of ASCAT compared to QuikSCAT assimilation. The impact of sea wind data assimilation on the prediction of wind resources lasts for 6 hours after data assimilation starts, therefore the data assimilation processes using both fine spatial and temporal resolutions of sea wind are needed to make a more useful wind resource map of the Korean Peninsula.
