Halpern Subgradient Method for Pseudomonotone Equilibrium Problems in Hilbert Space

  • In this paper, we introduce a new algorithm for finding a solution of an equilibrium problem in a real Hilbert space. Our paper extends the single projection method to pseudomonotone variational inequalities, from a 2018 paper of Shehu et. al., to pseudomonotone equilibrium problems in a real Hilbert space. On the basis of the given algorithm for the equilibrium problem, we develop a new algorithm for finding a common solution of a equilibrium problem and fixed point problem. The strong convergence of the algorithm is established under mild assumptions. Several of fundamental experiments in finite (infinite) spaces are provided to illustrate the numerical behavior of the algorithm for the equilibrium problem and to compare it with other algorithms.

개방적 상황에서 과학적 문제 만들기 활동이 예비교사의 과학적 문제발견능력에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Open-Situation Scientific Problem-Making Activity on the Scientific Problem-Finding Ability of Pre-Service Teachers)

  • 본 연구는 개방적 상황에서 과학적 문제 만들기 활동을 통해 예비교사들의 과학적 문제발견능력이 어떻게 향상되는지를 보았다. 이를 위해 과학교육학부 1학년 세 반을 훈련에 참여한 정도를 기준으로 적극적으로 참여한 반을 실험집단 1로, 비적극적으로 참여한 반을 실험집단 2로, 참여하지 않은 집단을 통제집단으로 편성하였다. 문제 만들기 훈련을 위해 활동지를 제작하여 예비교사들에게 적용하였는데, 예비교사들은 7주간 한 주에 하나의 궁금증을 찾아 활동지를 작성하였고,연구자와 교수가 매주 피드백 해주었다. 또한 문제 만들기 훈련이 문제 발견능력에 주는 영향을 보기 위해 개방적 상황에서의 문제발견 검사지를 개발하여 훈련 전후 문제발견능력을 측정하였다. 훈련 간 문제 만들기 활동지의 지속적인 작성과 피드백을 통해 예비교사들이 발견하는 문제의 수준이 높아지고 다양해졌으며, 검사결과 발견한 문제의 양과 질에서 실험 집단 1이 다른 집단에 비해 유의미한 향상을 보였다. 특히 질적 검사 항목 중 독창성, 정교성, 검증 가능성, 변인의 유형에서 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 또한 실험 집단 2는 부정적인 결과를 보였는데, 이것으로 보아 훈련에 임하는 태도가 문제발견능력의 향상과 상관이 있다고 짐작할 수 있다. 전체적인 결과로 보아 지속적인 문제 만들기 훈련과 피드백은 예비교사들의 문제발견능력 향상에 도움이 된다고 할 수 있다.

인터넷 주소 구조의 문제점에 관한 연구 (Review of today's internet architecture problems)

  • The explosive growth of the Internet brought serious problems to the Internet routing infrastructure. Especially scaling problems is recognized more seriously. The ever increasing user population, as well as multiple other factors including multi-homing, traffic engineering, and policy routing, have been driving the growth of Default Free Zone (DFZ) routing table size at an alarming rate. While it has been long recognized that the existing routing architecture may have serious scalability problems, effective solutions have yet to be identified, developed, and deployed. Recently, several attempts for finding the concrete problems are made. Especially the report of the routing and addressing workshop which the IAB (Internet Architecture Board) held on 2006 is described the problems of the current internet in detail. This document describes those problems and introduces the related activity to solve the problems.

An Extended Force Density Method for the form finding of cable systems with new forms

  • The Force Density Method (FDM) is a well known and extremely versatile tool in form finding of cable nets. In its linear formulation such method makes it possible to find all the possible equilibrium configurations of a net of cables having a certain given connectivity and given boundary conditions on the nodes. Each singular configuration corresponds to an assumed force density distribution. Its improvement as Non-Linear Force Density Method (NLFDM) introduces the possibility of imposing assigned relative distances among the nodes, the tensile level in the elements and/or their initial undeformed length. In this paper an Extended Force Density Method (EFDM) is proposed, which makes it possible to set conditions in terms of given fixed nodal reactions or, in other words, to fix the positions of a certain number of nodes and, at the same time, to impose the intensity of the reaction force. Through such extension, the (EFDM) enables us to deal with form findings problems of cable nets subjected to given constraints and, in particular, with mixed structures, made of cables and struts. The efficiency and the robustness of method are assessed through comparisons with other form finding techniques in dealing with characteristic applications to the prestress design of cable systems. As a further extension, the EFDM is applied to structures having some parts not yet geometrically defined, as can happen in designing new creative forms.

The Personal Information Management Practices of the Graduates of the Department of Information Studies at Kuwait University

  • This study examined activities involving the finding, organizing, managing, and re-finding of information by knowledge workers in Kuwait. This research also conducted a review of the tools needed for effective personal information management (PIM) and assessed perceptions about improving PIM through Internet use. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews conducted among 26 graduates of the Department of Information Studies at Kuwait University. These participants are currently employed in different sectors engaged in a variety of information-related activities. This study's findings indicated that participants gathered different types of information from a variety of sources. This information was stored using several devices and services, including desktop computers, shared drives, clouds, bookmarked websites, e-mail correspondence, and favorites lists. Participants organized information in personal folders according to categories such as subject/topic, time, project, document type, and geographical region. Preferred methods for information re-finding included searching by keyword and browsing through folders. Interviewees reported problems of information overload, fragmentation, and anxiety. Most were active in social media via mobile device, while some of them used Siri or Ask Google to retrieve information. Tools used for PIM included calendars, tasks, schedules, e-mail management tools, clouds, and social networking tools. Participants reported that the Internet helped with personal information management practices, but that some privacy issues arose in this context.

The Function of Creativity in the Solutions of Irregular Sequence Problems among Elementary School Mathematics Teachers and Teacher-Trainees in other Disciplines

  • The article aims to present findings of a study which has examined the ability of elementary school mathematics teachers and of teacher-trainees in other disciplines to solve irregular challenging problems of sequences in general rather than numerical sequences only. The findings show that mathematics teachers succeed to cope with unusual assignments when the requirements of the problems presented to them are analogous to irregular problems. However, when the problems require a change in the thinking procedure in the direction of creative thinking, there is a considerable decrease in performance. Another finding shows that, although teacher-trainees succeed less in solving the presented problems, they give incorrect solutions which do indicate creative thinking. An inevitable conclusion based on the research findings is that teacher training institutions should enhance and reinforce multi-directional. branching out and creative thinking competences.

사용성 문제의 분류 체계 : 문헌분석 및 새로운 개념적 프레임워크 (Classification Scheme of Usability Problems : Literature Review and New Conceptual Framework)

  • It is widely known that usability is a critical quality attribute of IT systems. Many studies have developed various methods for finding out usability problems. Usability professionals have emphasized that usability should be integrated into the development life cycle in order to maximize the usability of systems with minimal cost. To achieve this, it is essential to classify usability problems systematically and connect them into the activities of designing user interfaces and tasks. However, there is a lack of framework or method for these two problems and thus remains a challengeable research issue. As a beginning study, this paper proposes a conceptual framework for addressing the two issues. We firstly summarize usability-related studies so far, including usability factors and evaluation methods. Secondly, we review seven approaches to identifying and classifying usability problems. Based on this review and opinions of usability engineers in real industry as well as the review results, this paper proposes a framework comprising three viewpoints, from which more sound classification scheme of usability problems can be inductively developed.

The Effect of COVID-19 on Restaurant Businesses and Their Response in Thailand

  • The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the restaurant business adversely. The restaurant business is essential for Thailand's economy as it generates high income and a high employment rate. This study aimed to determine the relationships between restaurant businesses. Furthermore, it examined the problems encountered during COVID-19 and measures already implemented and planned. The research is intended to resolve these issues. We collected data from 136 people who worked in restaurants in Bangkok, Thailand, via telephone interviews. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics and correspondence analysis using SPSS. The findings of this analysis indicate that all restaurants, irrespective of their size, face problems, though their planned and remedial actions are different. One finding was that medium restaurants face more financial problems and increased costs than others. They are countering this challenge through measures such as applying for loans and transitioning into a "non-restaurant" business. Nevertheless, typical medium restaurants have not engaged in extensive planning for the future. Based on a fact-finding survey, we considered appropriate short- and long-term measures suitable for micro, small and medium restaurants. In addition, our study's findings will help policymakers and practitioners identify strategies for responding to the COVID-19 outbreak and other future crises.

분산된 대사경로네트워크에 대한 경로검색을 위한 분산알고리즘 (A Distributed Path-Finding Algorithm for Distributed Metabolic Pathways)

  • 많은 문제가 그래프로 모델링될 수 있고, 그래프 이론에 기반한 방법에 의해서 해결될 수 있다. 이 논문에서는 분산되고 중첩된 대사경로 네트워크들에 대해서 경로를 찾는 방법에 대해서 다룬다. 제안한 방법은 분산된 그래프를 통합하지 않은 채, 다중 에이전트의 협동작업을 통해서 경로를 찾는 방법이다. 각 그래프에는 해당 그래프를 책임지고 있는 에이전트가 하나씩 있어서, 해당 그래프에서 시작되는 경로검색을 주도하고, 다른 에이전트로부터 경로에 대한 정보 요청에 응답하도록 한다. 제안한 방법에서는 우선 전체 분산된 그래프에 대해서 뷰그래프라고 하는 추상화된 그래프를 형성하고, 이를 이용하여 경로를 찾기 위해 에이전트간에 어떤 방법으로 협력을 할지 알 수 있게 한다. 각 에이전트는 해당 그래프에 대한 최단경로 정보를 관리하고 있다. 어떤 에이전트가 해당 그래프의 어떤 노드에서 시작하는 경로를 찾으라는 요구를 받게 되면, 다른 에이전트로부터 정보를 받아서 목적지까지는 가는 경로를 찾게 된다.

LSI의 레이아웃 CAD에 있어서 2 -독립 경로 문제 (Two-Disjoint Path Problem in LSI Layout CAD)

  • LSI의 레이아웃 CAD 시스템에 있어서 미체선 신호면에 대한 초선가능성을 판정하고 그것을 수정·해결하는 것은 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 무향 그라프 G=(V, E)를 도입하여 2개의 절점 독립(vertex-disjoint)경로의 존재여부를 판정하는 알고리즘을 제안하고, 경로가 존재하는 경우는미결선 신호선을 해결하고, 존재하지 않는 경우는 해결할 수 없음을 보이는 방법을 제시하였다. 제안한 알고리즘의 시간 복잡도는 O(|VlxlEl)이다. A method finding out routability for unrouted signal lines and rerouting those which are turned out to be able to route in layout design of LSI is described. In this paper the problems of finding two-disjoint Paths represented by an undirected graph G=(V,E), where V,E are sets of vertices and edges respectively, are studied. The existence of two-disjoint paths from s1, to t1, (called P1) and from S2 to T2 (called P2) indicated by the four vertices on the graph s1, t1, s2, t2 ∈ V means that two distinct signal lines exist in layout design. It turns out that the proposed time complexity in the algorithm is O (IVI x IEI).
