Although there is a great deal of research on corporate social responsibility due to the increase in social interest and expectation, most of them have been limited to research on general manufacturing industry. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of social responsibility activities on financial performance. In addition, we want to analyze the difference in the financial performance of companies with excellent social responsibility activities announced by the Institute of Economic Justice and others. The analysis period is from 2011 to 2016, and we analyze using the robust regression methodology which is relatively effective in solving the autocorrelation and this dispersion problem. First, it is proved that the higher the KEJI index, the more positive effect on financial performance. In addition, we found that there is a significant difference in the financial performance of companies with excellent social responsibility activities and those with other social responsibility activities. These results will have important implications for establishing a firm's financial strategy and will serve as useful information for the financial industry that is striving for sustainable management.

Results: The results of this study are as follows; first, public institutions with high evaluation in social value and welfare had a significant positive effect on financial performance factors such as ROA and ROS. Second, we find that there is a significant negative relation between social value activities and debt ratio. This result means that the higher social value activities, the lower debt ratio. It was also found that the activities for enhancing social value made statistically significant positive influence on BIS performance. • For many years, many academics and practitioners have paid attention to the increasing popularity of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and its relationship with financial performance. They have shown that creating social and sustainable responsibility can strengthen the organization's financial performance as the organization can achieve its current needs without compromising the ability to meet future needs. While much theoretical and empirical evidence has been provided to support this argument in developed countries, this topic is under-researched, and the outcomes are controversial in developing countries. Therefore, this paper aims to examine and investigate the relationship between corporate social responsibility and financial performance in Vietnamese organizations. The dataset includes 27 firms listed on the stock market exchanges in Ho Chi Minh city (HOSE) and Hanoi (HNX) from 2015 to 2019. The disclosure approach is adopted to measure corporate social activities; four areas were developed: environment, community, employee and product, customer, and supplier practices. Return on average equity (ROE) and return on average assets (ROA) are two proxies for measuring financial performance. The research results confirm the existing literature with a strong correlation between employees and returns on average assets.

  • This article aims to examine the one-way relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the financial performance of Vietnamese commercial banks, mainly focusing on the moderating role of ownership structure. Net interest margin (NIM), return on assets (ROA), and return on equity (ROE) are selected to represent the financial performance of the bank. CSR was measured using a multi-method approach that included both quantitative and qualitative methods. Corporate Social Responsibility Expenditure (CSRE) was estimated using financial data. The Corporate Social Responsibility Disclosure (CSRD) index was created using the content analysis method. Using a sample of Vietnamese commercial banks from 2012 to 2019 to perform regressions in the dynamic panel models with the two-step system generalized method of moments (GMM) estimator, the results show a positive effect of both CSRE and CSRD on the financial performance of the bank. Empirical evidence shows that the positive relationship between CSRE and financial performance is more robust in statecontrolled banks than non-state-controlled banks. In contrast, the positive impact of CSRD on the financial performance of state-owned commercial banks is weaker than that of private banks. Finally, the paper points out the limitations and proposes future research directions.

  • Based on the perspective of consumers and the method of value engineering, this paper uses "CSR expectation deviate level" to measure corporate social responsibility, and discusses the influence of corporate social responsibility on financial performance and its action path. This paper collected the questionnaire survey data of 878 consumers and the panel data of 98 listed companies from 2009 to 2012. The empirical results show that: (1) Consumers pay more attention to products and services, charity, environmental protection and their responsibilities to employees, and less attention to their responsibilities to shareholders or creditors and partners; (2) Corporate social responsibility is negatively correlated with financial performance, and corporate marketing ability plays a moderating role in it. That is, the smaller the gap between the level of corporate social responsibility fulfilled by enterprises and consumers' expectations, the better the financial performance of enterprises, which also reminds enterprises that they need to rationally allocate corporate social responsibility resources and constantly cultivate their own marketing capabilities, so as to better meet the level of corporate social responsibility expected by consumers. The value engineering method quantifies consumers' value perception of corporate social responsibility, which has a certain practical guiding role. Of course, there are some limitations in this paper, and future research can further explore the potential impact mechanism.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the bilateral and autoregressive relationships of corporate social performance and corporate financial performance by using dynamic panel model based on fixed effect analysis method. To satisfy this study purpose, 6 years data (2008-2013) of top 1,000 corporations in Korea was collected and finally 430 corporations were used for dynamic panel analysis. The main results were as follows. First, the preceding financial performance explains the following corporate social performance in positive direction. Second, the preceding corporate social performance does not explain the following financial performance. Third, the preceding corporate social performance explains the following corporate social performance in positive direction. Fourth, the preceding financial performance explains the following financial performance in positive direction. This result shows that slack resources theory is supported and good management theory is not supported. In addition, there is a significant relationship between the preceding corporate social performance and the following corporate social performance. Lastly, this study broadens and deepens previous understanding on corporate social philanthropy and discusses theoretical meanings and implications for future study.

  • The aim of this research is to use a conceptual model to experimentally evaluate the mediating impact of government financial and training support on structural social capital and non-financial performance of family farms. Questionnaires were used to collect data from family farms in Guangxi, China, from August 25th to September 8th, 2021. There were 759 valid responses, accounting for 94.99 percent of the total number of respondents. The scales' reliability and validity, and the research's mediating effects and hypotheses, are tested using SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 26.0. The findings suggest that the impact of government financial assistance on family farms' non-financial performance cannot be substantiated. The intermediary chain connection of financial and training support, on the other hand, has a significant mediating effect between structural social capital and family farm non-financial performance. Direct financial assistance could be thought to encourage family farms to rely too much on funding, making them less competitive in market competition, innovation, and long-term operations. According to the conclusions of the study, government assistance to family farms could take a variety of forms, including providing diversified skills training programs in farming practices, managerial skills, and other areas.

  • Korea Credit Guarantee Fund(KODIT) is a public financial institution under the provision of the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund Act. Facing the waves of change both locally and globally, KODIT will serve as 'social value creator' in making a paradigm shift from a large corporation(Conglomerate-dominated) economy to a social enterprise-oriented one based on social economy. This study focuses on the supporting service programs for social enterprises and job creation how it affects the performance of social value creation of KODIT. There is currently no detailed research of the social value in terms of the business and management academic agenda. Therefore, the present study describes the importance of social value creation on the policy financial institution. This study conducted in-depth case study for social value performance. As a public policy financial institution, KODIT exert diverse efforts to correct market failure and achieve inclusive growth. For example, KODIT extends credit guarantee services for the liabilities of promising corporations and stimulates financial and non-financial supporting programs for social enterprises. The present study can thus act as the foundation for exploring the social value creation in the circumstances of public financial institution.
