Fast Random Walk with Restart over a Signed Graph (부호 그래프에서의 빠른 랜덤워크 기법)

  • RWR (Random Walk with Restart) is frequently used by many graph-based ranking algorithms, but it does not consider a signed graph where edges may have negative weight values. In this paper, we apply the Balance Theory by F. Heider to RWR over a signed graph and propose a novel RWR, Balanced Random Walk (BRW). We apply the proposed technique into the domain of recommendation system, and show by experiments its effectiveness to filter out the items that users may dislike. In order to provide the reasonable performance of BRW in the domain, we modify the existing Top-k algorithm, BCA, and propose a new algorithm, Bicolor-BCA. The proposed algorithm yet requires employing a threshold. In the experiment, we show how threshold values affect both precision and performance of the algorithm.

  • The missile control system is comprised of various control systems such as autopilot, guidance law, and homing filter and so on. To design these guidance and control system, the optimization technique is widely applied at each developing stage. However, this kind of optimization requires lots of time and cost and moreover, this approach does not give an overall system optimization result. In this paper, to use the optimization tool for control system design, the optimal problem formulation is done and the performance index and constraints are considered. And finally the systematically optimized method is proposed.

Practical Encryption and Decryption System using Iterative Phase Wrapping Method (반복적인 위상 랩핑 방법을 이용한 실질적인 암호화 및 복호화 시스템)

  • In this paper, we propose an improved practical encryption and fault-tolerance decryption method using a non-negative value key and random function obtained with a white noise by using iterative phase wrapping method. A phase wrapping operating key, which is generated by the product of arbitrary random phase images and an original phase image. is zero-padded and Fourier transformed. Fourier operating key is then obtained by taking the real-valued data from this Fourier transformed image. Also the random phase wrapping operating key is made from these arbitrary random phase images and the same iterative phase wrapping method. We obtain a Fourier random operating key through the same method in the encryption process. For practical transmission of encryption and decryption keys via Internet, these keys should be intensity maps with non-negative values. The encryption key and the decryption key to meet this requirement are generated by the addition of the absolute of its minimum value to each of Fourier keys, respectively. The decryption based on 2-f setup with spatial filter is simply performed by the inverse Fourier transform of the multiplication between the encryption key and the decryption key and also can be used as a current spatial light modulator technology by phase encoding of the non-negative values. Computer simulations show the validity of the encryption method and the robust decryption system in the proposed technique.

Modeling and Vibration Control of the Miniature Universal Testing Machine (소형 재료시험기의 모델링 및 진동 제어)

  • This paper proposes the modeling scheme of the Miniature Universal Testing Machine (MUTM) composed of 36 thin-beam-type bimorph PZTs and the control algorithm to minimize the residual vibration of the MUTM in the dynamic testing of specimens. In the operation of the MUTM, hysteresis, residual displacement and vibration of it are major issues. From the analysis of the MUTM behaviors, the hysteresis is described by the curving fitting scheme with the function of an input voltage. The dynamic characteristics of the MUTM are identified by the frequency domain modeling technique based on the experimental data. The interested bandwidth is focused on 125-315HZ for effective modeling and control. For the robust vibration control of the MUTM, the sliding mode control and the Kalman filter as observer are proposed. The paper also proposes the best input signal type to operate the MUTM effectively. The feasibility of the proposed modeling scheme and control algorithm are tested and verified experimentally.

  • To customize individual characteristics of HRTF, a spherical model has been used for structural modeling technique. A pseudo-code of prolate spheroidal HRTF caused by incident acoustic point source is already developed, and it can be used a head shadow filter for structural modeling of HRTF. In this research, to see the necessity and efficiency of spheroidal head modeling, ITD optimization is performed on CIPIC HRTF database. From given cost function, ITD-optimized spheroidal head model, whose ITD information is the most matched version of measured ITD information, is found by varying head parameters subject by subject. By comparing results of ITD-optimized spheroids and ITD-optimized spheres, we concluded that a spherical head model is more efficient way of generating head shadow effect than a spheroidal head model does.

  • An RF energy detector for spectrum sensing in TV white space transceiver is presented. It is based on an RF active filtering technique that comprises a low-noise amplifier with a frequency-translation high-pass filtering feedfoward loop, which attenuates the unwanted sideband energy and only passes the wanted band energy. Unlike the conventional architecture, a new architecture that can attenuate both sidebands at the same time is proposed. A simplified system modeling method is presented to assess the non-ideality effects on the RF energy detector performances. System behavioral simulations demonstrate that the proposed architecture can be instrumental for realizaing a RF energy detector circuit in CMOS.

  • In this paper, a processor architecture is proposed based on the state space implementation technique for real time processing of 2-D discrete wavelet transform(DWT). It conducts 2-D DWT operations in consideration of row and column direction simultaneously, thus can reduce latency due to memory access for storing intermediate results. It is a VLSI architecture suitable for real time processing. The proposed architecture includes only four multipliers and four adders, and NK-N internal memory storage, where K denotes the length of filter. It has a small hardware complexity. Therefore it is very suitable architecture for real time, embedded applications such as web camera server. Since the processor is easily extended to array structure, it can be applied to various image processing applications.

High Q High Gain VHF Active Filters and Their Application to FM Receivers (고Q고이득 VHF 능동필터와 그 FM 수신기에의 응용)

  • This paper describes the computer-aided design, fabrication and performance of high Q and high gain active filters suitable for microminiaturization in the frequency range of 10-800MHz, based on the negative resistance operation of a transistor. 48 as high as 1000 and a transducer gain as high as 35dB can readily be obtained with a single-transistor amplifier and with an inductance as small as a few nH at higher frequencies and 150 nH at lower frequencies in tile above frequency range. The gain of the proposed active filter can be stoabilized within $\pm$ 1.5 dB over the temperature range -1$0^{\circ}C$ to +5$0^{\circ}C$ and the temperature dependence of the center frequency is tapicalla 50ppm/$^{\circ}C$. An experimental FM receiver utilizing these fitters and operating at a carrier frequency of 92 MH3 was built. The whole circuit was fabricated on eight alumina substrates of by the thick-film hybrid IC technique and the coils are constructed, for miniaturization, in a spiral form of 3 or 4 turns of enamel copper wire with an overall diameter of about 5mm. The test results are also reported in this paper.

Eliminating Redundant Alarms of Buffer Overflow Analysis Using Context Refinements (분석 문맥 조절 기법을 이용한 버퍼 오버플로우 분석의 중복 경보 제거)

  • In order to reduce the efforts to inspect the reported alarms from a static buffer overflow analyzer, we present an effective method to filter out redundant alarms. In the static analysis, a sequence of multiple alarms are frequently found due to the same cause in the code. In such a case, it is sufficient and reasonable for programmers to examine the first alarm instead of the entire alarms in the same sequence. Based on this observation, we devise a buffer overflow analysis that filters out redundant alarms with our context refinement technique. Our experiment with several open source programs shows that our method reduces the reported alarms by 23% on average.

  • This paper describes the results of 2D mapping, feature detection and matching to create the surrounding environment in the mounted stereo camera on Mobile robot. Extract method of image's feature in real-time processing for quick operation uses the edge detection and Sum of Absolute Difference(SAD), stereo matching technique can be obtained through the correlation coefficient. To estimate the location of a mobile robot using ZigBee beacon and encoders mounted on the robot is estimated by Kalman filter. In addition, the merged gyro scope to measure compass is possible to generate map during mobile robot is moving. The Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) of mobile robot technology with an intelligent robot can be applied efficiently in human life would be based.
