  • In this paper, the image is received from the camera and the lane is sensed. There are various ways to detect lanes. Generally, the method of detecting edges uses a lot of the Sobel edge detection and the Canny edge detection. The minimum use of multiplication and division is used when designing for the hardware configuration. The images are tested using a black box image mounted on the vehicle. Because the top of the image of the used the black box is mostly background, the calculation process is excluded. Also, to speed up, YCbCr is calculated from the image and only the data for the desired color, white and yellow lane, is obtained to detect the lane. The median filter is used to remove noise from images. Intermediate filters excel at noise rejection, but they generally take a long time to compare all values. In this paper, by using addition, the time can be shortened by obtaining and using the result value of the median filter. In case of the Sobel edge detection, the speed is faster and noise sensitive compared to the Canny edge detection. These shortcomings are constructed using complementary algorithms. It also organizes and processes data into parallel processing pipelines. To reduce the size of memory, the system does not use memory to store all data at each step, but stores it using four line buffers. Three line buffers perform mask operations, and one line buffer stores new data at the same time as the operation. Through this work, memory can use six times faster the processing speed and about 33% greater quantity than other methods presented in this paper. The target operating frequency is designed so that the system operates at 50MHz. It is possible to use 2157fps for the images of 640by360 size based on the target operating frequency, 540fps for the HD images and 240fps for the Full HD images, which can be used for most images with 30fps as well as 60fps for the images with 60fps. The maximum operating frequency can be used for larger amounts of the frame processing.

  • An equalization algorithm is proposed to guarantee a stable performance in fast fading channels for digital television (DTV) systems from the advanced television system committee (ATSC) standard. In channels with high Doppler shifts, the conventional equalization algorithm shows severe performance degradation. Although the conventional equalizer compensates poor channel conditions to some degree, long filter taps required to overcome long delay profiles are not suitable for fast fading channels. The Proposed sparse equalization algorithm is robust to the multipaths with long delay Profiles as well as fast fading by utilizing channel estimation and equalizer initialization. It can compensate fast fading channels with high Doppler shifts using a filter tap selection technique as well as variable step-sizes. Under the ATSC test channels, the proposed algorithm is analyzed and compared with the conventional equalizer. Although the proposed algorithm uses small number of filter taps compared to the conventional equalizer, it is stable and has the advantages of fast convergence and channel tracking.

  • With the convergence of ubiquitous networking and medical technologies, ubiquitous healthcare(U-Healthcare) service has come in our life, which enables a patient to receive medical services at anytime and anywhere. In the u-Healthcare environment, intelligent real-time biosignal aquisition/analysis techniques are inevitable. In this study, we propose a motion artifact cancelation method in portable photoplethysmography(PPG) signal aquisition using an accelerometer and an adaptive filter. A preliminary experiment represented that the component of the pedestrian motion artifact can be found under 5Hz in the spectral analysis. Therefore, we collected PPG signals under both simulated conditions with a motor that generates circular motion with uniform velocity (from 1 to 5Hz) and a real walking condition. We then reduced the motion artifact using a recursive least square adaptive filter which takes the accelerometer output as a noise reference. The results showed that the adaptive filter can remove the motion artifact effectively and recover peak points in PPG signals, which represents our method can be useful to detect heart rate in real walking condition.

  • For data transmission over strictly band-limited non-ideal channels, different types of filters with arbitrary responses are needed. In this paper. we proposed two efficient techniques for the design of such FIR filters whose response is specified in either the time or the frequency domain. In particular when a fractionally-spaced structure is used for the transceiver, these filters can be efficiently designed by making use of characteristics of oversampling. By using a minimum mean-squared error criterion, we design a fractionally-spaced FIR filter whose frequency response can be controlled without affecting the output error. With proper specification of the shape of the additive noise signals, for example, the design results in a receiver filter that can perform compromise equalization as well as phase splitting filtering for QAM demodulation. The second method ad-dresses the design of an FIR filter whose desired response can be arbitrarily specified in the frequency domain. For optimum design, we use an iterative optimization technique based on a weighted least mean square algorithm. A new adaptation algorithm for updating the weighting function is proposed for fast and stable convergence. It is shown that these two independent methods can be efficiently combined together for more complex applications.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to implement a predistorter of the $rho$-th order inverse filter structure to prevent signal distortion and spectral re-growth due to the high PAPR (peak-to-average ratio) of the OFDM signals and the non-linearity of high-power amplifiers. We model the memory-less non-linearity of the high-power amplifier with a polynomial model and utilize the inverse of the model, the $rho$-th order inverse filter, for the predistorter. Once the non-linearity is modeled with a polynomial, since we can determine the $rho$-th order inverse filter only with the coefficients of the polynomial, large memory is not required. To update the coefficients of the non-linear high-power amplifier model, we can use LMS or RLS algorithms. The convergence speed is high since the number of coefficients is small, and the computation is simple since manipulation of complex numbers is not necessary.

  • Applying the maximally polyphase decomposition and noble identity to the adaptive filter in subband structure, the conventional fullband affine projection algorithm is translated to the subband affine projection (SAP) algorithm. The Maximally polyphase decomposed SAP (MPDSAP) algorithm is a special version of the SAP algorithm, and its adaptive sub-filters have unity projection dimension. The weight updating formular of the MPDSAP is similar to that of the NLMS algorithm, so it may be more proper algorithm than other AP-type algorithms for many practical applications. This paper presents a new statistical analysis of the MPDSAP algorithm. The analytical model is derived for autoregressive (AR) inputs and the nonunity adaptive gain in the subband structure with the orthonormal analysis filters (OAF), The pre-whitening by the OAF allows the derivation of a simple-analytical model for the MPDSAP with the AR inputs and the nonunity adaptive gain.

  • This paper describes an implement of Simultaneous Localization and Mapping(SLAM) in two dimensional space. The method uses Invariant Extended Kalman Filter(IEKF), which transforms the state variables and measurement variables so that the transformed variables constitute a linear space when variables called the invariant quantities are kept constant. Therefore, the IEKF guarantees convergence provided in the invariant quantities are kept constant. The proposed IEKF approach uses Lie group matrix for the transformation. The method is tested through simulation, and the results show that the Kalman gain is constant as it is the case for the linear Kalman filter. The coherence between the estimated locations of the vehicle and the detected objects verifies the estimation performance of the method.

  • Conformal mapping is useful to solve problems in heat conduction, electrostatic potential and fluid flow involving Laplace's equation in two independent variables. Determinations of conformal maps from the unit disk onto a Jordan region eventually requires solving the Theodorsen equation which is in general nonlinear with respect to the boundary correspondence function. H bner's method which has been well known for the efficient method among the many suggestions for the Theodorsen equation, was improved in early study[1, 2]. In this paper Wegmann's method is treated that is more efficient in computation cost rather than H bner's. But we found that a question which is divergent in some difficult problems by numerical experiment of Wegmann's iteration. We analyze theoretically the cause of divergence and propose an improved method by applying a low frequency filter to the Wegmann's method. Numerical experiments by our improved method show convergence for all divergent problems by Wegmann's method.

  • Recently, with the development of artificial intelligence and IoT technology, automation, and unmanned work are progressing in various fields, and the importance of image processing, which is the basis of AI object recognition, is increasing. In particular, in systems that require detailed data processing, noise removal is used as a preprocessing step, but the existing algorithm does not consider the noise level of the image, so it has the disadvantage of blurring in the filtering process. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a modified Gaussian filter that determines the weight by determining the noise level of the image. The proposed algorithm obtains the noise estimate for the AWGN of the image using quadtree segmentation, determines the Gaussian weight and the pixel weight, and obtains the final output by convolution with the local mask. To evaluate the proposed algorithm, it was simulated compared to the existing method, and superior performance was confirmed compared to the existing method.

  • In modern society, various video devices such as CCTV and black boxes are used for convenience. However, noise is frequently generated in the process of transmitting and receiving video images and video signals photographed at night. If such noise is not eliminated, the problem that the image is difficult to identify is generated. Accordingly, noise elimination of images in the image information is an indispensable step. Salt and Pepper noises are typical impulse noises among image noises. Previous research has been carried out as a method for eliminating noise, and CWMF, MMF and A-TMF are typical methods. In common, such a filter exhibits excellent performance in a low-density noise area, but a disadvantage is that noise elimination performance in a high-density noise area is somewhat insufficient. Accordingly, the proposed algorithm uses the inflection point of the histogram graph to separate areas and remove singular points, and proposes a weighting filter utilizing histogram distribution. PSNR was used for objective judgment.
