The most effective tutoring method is one-on-one, face-to-face in-person human tutoring. However, due to the limited availability of human tutors, computer-based alternatives have been developed. These software based alternatives are called Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS) which are used to tutor students in different domains. Although ITS performance is inferior to that of human teachers, the field is growing and has recently become very popular. User interfaces play key role in usability perspective of ITS. Even though ITS research has advanced, the majority of the work has concentrated on learning sciences while mostly disregarding user interfaces. Because of this, the present ITS includes effective learning modules but a less effective interface design. Usability is one approach to gauge a software's performance, while "ease of use" is one way to assess a software's quality. This paper measures the usability effectiveness of an ITS which is designed to teach Object-Oriented (OO) analysis and design concepts using Unified Modeling Language (UML). Computer Supported Usability Questionnaire (CSUQ) survey was conducted for usability evaluation of UML-ITS. According to participants' responses to the system's usability survey, all responses lie between 1 to 3 scale points which indicate that the participants were satisfied and comfortable with most of the system's interface features.
The purpose of this study was to analyzed the effects of educational recognition sub-factors (necessity, utility, value, cost, adequacy) on the field usability and satisfaction and the correlation between each factor for 220 applicants who have taken the national technical certificate of cosmetologist (make-up). In the practical courses of makeup certificate, the most-used course was selected as beauty makeup. It found for improvement need cause there was a high necessity and there was a low recognition of the cost, the number of annual written and practical test in the recognition of certification education. In field usability 'Beauty make-up utilization' showed high recognition, and it showed high satisfaction for acquisition of certificate satisfaction, 'The salary' showed low recognition. The necessity, cost, adequacy among educational recognition sub-factor of the national technical certificate had a significant positive effect on the field usability and satisfaction, and showed the most effect as adequacy on the field usability and the cost on the satisfaction. Therefore, efforts are needed to reduce acquisition costs of certificate and improve highly available theories and technique for segmentation and specialization of make-up certificate.
The purpose of this study was to examine the usability of a robot in kindergartens and the children's perceptions of that robot. In order to answer these questions, a field study, picture drawing and interviews were conducted over twelve days in a kindergarten located in Seoul. Our results indicated that children were likely to use the robot in a group and girls tended to use it more than boys. Children's affection towards the robot was positive and they perceived the robot mostly in terms of a friend. Finally, the picture drawing activity differed according to the usability level. Children who were in the high usability level grouping engaged more with educational content and storytelling while the low usability level grouping utilized the robot for singing in a large group.

In this study, we have a goal to develop usability evaluation guidelines for heuristic-based artificial intelligence-based Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) in the medical field. We conducted a gap analysis between medical hardware (H/W) and non-medical software (S/W) based on ten heuristic principles. Through severity assessments, we identified 69 evaluation domains and 112 evaluation criteria aligned with the ten heuristic principles. Subsequently, we categorized each evaluation domain into five types, including user safety, data integrity, regulatory compliance, patient therapeutic effectiveness, and user convenience. We proposed usability evaluation guidelines that apply the newly derived heuristic-based Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) evaluation factors to the risk management process. In the discussion, we also have proposed the potential applications of the research findings and directions for future research. We have emphasized the importance of the judicious application of AI technology in the medical field and the evaluation of usability evaluation and offered valuable guidelines for various stakeholders, including medical device manufacturers, healthcare professionals, and regulatory authorities.
Purpose: The physical therapy diagnosis process requires high-level background knowledge, the ability to obtain added information from patients, accurate examination skills, and a framework for transforming thoughts into a diagnostic decision. Thus, the physical therapy diagnostic process is highly complicated and difficult work. To function as autonomous professionals, physical therapists must develop effective clinical diagnosis skills. As such, mobile application aids can help with accurate and scientific diagnoses. Therefore, this study aims to develop and evaluate the usability of a mobile application for physical therapy diagnoses. Methods: In this study, a diagnostic application was developed using App Inventor, the development environment was the Chrome web browser for Windows 10, and the mobile application was run on a Google Pixel 5. The developed application was evaluated for usability by 20 physical therapists with more than 5 years of clinical experience in the musculoskeletal physical therapy field, and a usability evaluation was conducted using a 5-point Likert scale for accuracy, convenience, satisfaction, and usability. The collected Likert scores were converted into percentages and analyzed as descriptive statistics. Results: The graphical user interface consisted of an initial screen with program guidance, 18 screens presenting the algorithm, and 12 screens presenting the estimated diagnosis based on the algorithm. As such, the usability evaluation of the developed application was as follows: accuracy 100%, convenience 90%, satisfaction 91%, and usability 88%. Conclusion: The newly developed mobile application for physical therapeutic diagnoses has a high accuracy, and it will aid in building an easy and reliable physical therapy diagnosis system.

This study is a preliminary study to develop an evaluation framework necessary for evaluating the DataON platform. The first objective is to examine expert perceptions of the level of DataON platform construction. The second objective is to evaluate the importance, stability, and usability of DataON platform features over OpenAIRE features. The third objective is to derive weights from the evaluation perspective for future DataON platform evaluation. The fourth objective is to examine the preferences of experts in each evaluation perspective and to derive unbiased evaluation criteria. This study used a survey method for potential stakeholders of the DataON platform. The survey included 12 professionals with at least 10 years of experience in the field. The 57 overall functions and services were measured at 3.1 out of 5 for importance. Stability was -0.07 point and usability was measured as -0.05 point. The 42 features and services scored 3.04 points in importance. Stability was -0.58 points and usability was -0.51 points. In particular, the stability and usability scores of the 42 functions and services provided as of 2018 were higher than the total functions were, which is attributed to the stable and user-friendly improvement after development. In terms of the weight of the evaluation point, the collection quality has the highest weight of 27%. Interface usability is then weighted 22%. Subsequently, service quality is weighted 19%, and finally system performance efficiency and user feedback solicitation are equally weighted 16%.
This study is to explore the usability of a pattern making software 'Looks tailor X' developed recently by the Digital Fashion in line with the cloth simulation software 'DressingSim'. When the software engineers develop software for clothes and clothing simulations, most often they lose touch of real-world craftsmanship of pattern making. As such, the software evaluation of the functionality and the usability is a crucial step in the field of virtual clothing. We carried out a detailed evaluation of the software via the process of making some basic types of pattern including tight skirts, pants, jackets, and one-piece dress. In this paper, we documented a step-by-step scenarios of making clothes using the Looks tailor X, and listed both the advantages and limitations of the software from the perspective of an enduser, i.e., a professional fashion designer. We also briefed suggestions on the refinement of the future software in the field.
