Currently, a lot of researches about high risk test scenarios for autonomous vehicle and advanced driver assistance systems have been carried out to evaluate driving safety. This study proposes new type of test scenario that evaluate the driving safety for autonomous vehicle by reconstructing accident database of national automotive sampling system crashworthiness data system (NASS-CDS). NASS-CDS has a lot of detailed accident data in real fields, but there is no data of accurate velocity in accident moments. So in order to propose scenario generation method from accident database, we try to reconstruct accident moment from accident sketch diagram. At the same step, we propose an accident of occurrence frequency which is based on accident codes and road shapes. The reconstruction paths from accident database are integrated into evaluation of simulation environment. Our proposed methods and processor are applied to MILS (Model In the Loop Simulation) and VILS (Vehicle In the Loop Simulation) test environments. In this paper, a reasonable method of accident reconstruction typology for autonomous vehicle evaluation of feasibility is proposed.
The isolated self-generating electricity with diesel engine generator has been used in islands far away from main land. It costs high because of increasing oil price, and unsafe to have supplying oil and its related components by ship due to unexpectable marine conditions. Therefore there is the need for the hybrid system of renewable energy like wind or solar energy systems with oil engine generator, which can reduce oil use and extend oil supplying period. In this study, the feasibility of such hybrid system with smart micro grid on the eight islands of Jeon-nam province is surveyed to find good place for the demonstration test of the hybrid system. In each island, 3 wind turbine systems of 10 kW and photovoltaic of 20 kW are tested with already installed diesel engine. The performance and costs of the hybrid system in each island are compared in the given conditions of solar and wind energy potential. As a result of the study, Jung-ma island is recommended for the optimum place to make real field demonstration test of isolated hybrid generating and smart grid systems.
Vibration test on MAST(multi axial simulation table) system has several advantage over one-axial vibration test that could simulate 6-DOF, 3-axial translation and 3-axial moment, at the same time. Since field vibration motion can be fully represented with 6-DOF, multi-axial vibration test on vehicle component is widely conducted in technical leading companies to make sure its fatigue performance in vibration environment. On the way to fulfill the process, editing technique of obtained field data is key issue to success a reliable vibration testing with MAST system. Since the original signals are not only too large to fulfill it directly, but all of the measured data is not guarantee its convergency on generating its driving files, editing technique of the original signals are highly required to make some events that should meet the equal fatigue damage on the target component In this paper, key technique on editing a field data feasible for MAST system is described based on energy method in vibration fatigue. To explain its technique explicitly, author first introduced a process on field data acquisition of two vehicle component and then, representing events are produced to keep up with the editing strategy about a energy method. In the final chapter, a time information regarding a vibration test on MAST system is derived from the energy data which is critical information to perform a vibration test.

Modelling incompressible, neutrally stratified, barotropic, horizontally homogeneous and steady-state atmospheric boundary layer (ABL) is an important aspect in computational wind engineering (CWE) applications. The ABL flow can be viewed as a balance of the horizontal pressure gradient force, the Coriolis force and the turbulent stress divergence. While much research has focused on the increase of the wind velocity with height, the Ekman layer effects, entailing veering - the change of the wind velocity direction with height, are far less concerned in wind engineering. In this paper, a modified k-ε model is introduced for the ABL simulation considering wind veering. The self-sustainable method is discussed in detail including the precursor simulation, main simulation and near-ground physical quantities adjustment. Comparisons are presented among the simulation results, field measurement values and the wind profiles used in the conventional wind tunnel test. The studies show that the modified k-ε model simulation results are consistent with field measurement values. The self-sustainable method is effective to maintain the ABL physical quantities in an empty domain. The wind profiles used in the conventional wind tunnel test have deficiencies in the prediction of upper-level winds. The studies in this paper support future practical super high-rise buildings design in CWE.
The simulation of Hydraulic pressure distribution of discharge tube with globular beads and the removal characteristic of Escherichia coli by the discharge tube with globular beads were estimated. The removal characteristic of Escherichia coli was related to the input voltage because the electric field is increased according to input voltage. As the passing amount of test water in discharge tube is increased, the removal ratio of Escherichia coli was increased because passing numbers of electric field section is increased.
This paper presents to verify the selective grounding fault protective relaying technique for the ungrounded DC traction power supply system. This system selectively blocks fault section when grounding fault occurred. In order to perform this verification, field test facilities have been installed on Oesam substation and Worldcup-Stadium substation, and field test process has been suggested. Also, selective grounding fault protective relaying components and rail voltage reduction device have been tested with the various trial examinations. In order to compare and evaluate performance of the selective grounding fault protective relaying function, field test system was modeled and the system fault simulation results were compared and evaluated with the field test result. Performance of selective grounding fault protective relaying function was evaluated with the above-mentioned process, and the fact that the system recognizes fault section irrespective of insulation between rail and ground and fault resistance from grounding fault.
As a valid numerical method to obtain a high-resolution result of a flow field, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) have been widely used to study coolant flow and heat transfer characteristics in fuel rod bundles. However, the time-consuming, iterative calculation of Navier-Stokes equations makes CFD unsuitable for the scenarios that require efficient simulation such as sensitivity analysis and uncertainty quantification. To solve this problem, a reduced-order model (ROM) based on proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) and machine learning (ML) is proposed to simulate the flow field efficiently. Firstly, a validated CFD model to output the flow field data set of the rod bundle is established. Secondly, based on the POD method, the modes and corresponding coefficients of the flow field were extracted. Then, an deep feed-forward neural network, due to its efficiency in approximating arbitrary functions and its ability to handle high-dimensional and strong nonlinear problems, is selected to build a model that maps the non-linear relationship between the mode coefficients and the boundary conditions. A trained surrogate model for modes coefficients prediction is obtained after a certain number of training iterations. Finally, the flow field is reconstructed by combining the product of the POD basis and coefficients. Based on the test dataset, an evaluation of the ROM is carried out. The evaluation results show that the proposed POD-ROM accurately describe the flow status of the fluid field in rod bundles with high resolution in only a few milliseconds.
Magnetostrictive materials have been used for linear actuators due to its large strain, large force output with moderate frequency band in the presence of magnetic field. However their performance analysis is difficult because of nonlinear material behaviors in terms of coupled strain-magnetic field dependence, nonlinear permeability, pre-stress dependence and hysteresis. This paper presents a finite element analysis technique for magnetostrictive linear actuator. To deal with coupled problems and nonlinear behaviors, a simple finite element approach is proposed, which is based on separate magnetic field calculation and displacement simulation. The finite element formulation and an in-house program development are illustrated, and a simulation model is made for a magnetostrictive linear actuator. The fabrication and performance test of the linear actuator are explained, and the performance comparison with simulation result is shown. Since this approach is simple, it can be applied for analyzing magnetostrictive underwater projectors and ultrasonic transducers.
Environmental test is divided into operation test and storage test. The temperature of storage test is induced temperature which is considered with all sort of the heat source. Induced temperature is the temperature to be adapted to each item and platform and can be induced by computer simulation, laboratory, and real field test. We considered the induced temperature to be associated with solar heat source. In this research. First, we compared the induced temperature which be occurred by one experiment for thin plate in solar test chamber with the other one which be occurred by computer simulation to be SolidWorks 2007 COSMOS FloWorks. After this verification, we showed induced temperature which can be occurred when the test item is stored. Especially, we bring out the induced temperature by applying the ambient temperatures which is presented by MIL-STD-810F and brought out in preceding research.
