This paper describes the influence of conducting particle in the coaxial cylindrical electrodes under alternating voltage condition investigated using breakdown electric field and electro magnetics simulation method. Simulated particle-location in GIS chamber were the particle on electrode, the particle on enclosure and free moving particle. As results, it was founded that in case of breakdown electric field of the GIS chamber, breakdown electric field of particle on electrode was the lowest, that of free moving particle was middle and that of particle on enclosure was the highest. And in case of the electric field analysis with particle locations, electric field of particle on electrode was the highest that of lifted particle was middle and that of particle on enclosure was the lowest. This results can offer a practical reference ra the insulation design of domestic GIS.
Recently, electricity is essential for human lives. Modem people take cultural benefits due to the development of the electric power system and the spread of the high tech-electric appliances, the cell phones, and etc. However, the electromagnetic field problems become prominent figures owing to the fault of the communication devices around the power line and the biological effect, and etc. In this paper, we introduce the simple electromagnetic field calculation based on the transmission line matrix method, prior to the analysis about the influence of electromagnetic field. Simulation object is the inner part of the trailer car in the high speed train. Unlike the existing paper we submitted, we analyze not only the magnetic field but the electric field in the inner part of the trailer car which makes up the high speed train.
Twisted magnetic flux tubes (also called magnetic flux ropes) are believed to play a crucial role in solar eruptive phenomena. The evolution of a single flux rope with or without the influence of an overlying field of a simple geometry has been extensively studied and its physics is rather well understood. Observations show that interacting flux tubes are often involved in solar eruptions. It was Lau and Finn (1996) who intensively studied the interaction between two flux ropes, whose footpoints are anchored in two parallel planes. In this too simplified setting, the curvature of the flux rope axial fields is totally ignored. In our study, the footpoints of flux ropes are placed in a single plane containing a polarity inversion line as in the real solar active region. Our simulation study is performed for four cases: (1) co-axial field and co-axial current (co-helicity), (2) counter-axial field and co-axial current (counter-helicity), (3) co-axial field and counter-axial current (counter-helicity), and (4) counter-axial field and counter-axial current (co-helicity). Except case 3, each case is found to be related with certain eruptive features.
We investigate the lateral far-field pattern characteristics, including divergence angle change and far-field pattern analysis as output power increases, of narrow-emitter-width 850 nm GaAs/AlGaAs laser diodes (LDs). Each LD has a cavity of 1200 and 1500 ㎛ and narrow emitter width of 2.4 ㎛ for the top and 4.6 ㎛ for the bottom. The threshold currents are 35 and 40 mA, and L-I kinks appear at power levels of 326 and 403 mW, respectively. The divergence angle tends to increase due to the occurrence of first-order lateral mode and the thermal lensing effect. But with the L-I kink, the divergence angle decreases and the far-field pattern becomes asymmetric. This is due to coherent superposition between the fundamental and the first-order lateral mode. We provide detailed explanations for these observations based on high-power laser diode simulation results.

A high-accuracy magnetic field measurement device based on a cyclotron is being developed for accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS). In this study, a magnetic field measurement device consisting of a Hall probe sensor, piezo-motor, and step motor was developed to measure the magnetic field of the AMS cyclotron magnet. The Hall probe sensor was calibrated to achieve positional accuracy by using polar coordinates. The measurement results between the ratchet gear and piezo-motor, which are the instruments used for driving the measurement device, were analyzed. The measurement result of the device with a piezo-motor exhibits a difference of 5 Gauss (0.04%) as compared with the simulation result.

This paper attempts to develop an algorithm which optimizes the electric field through the so-called NURB(Non-Uniform Rational B-spline) curve in order to improve the insulation capacity. In particular, the NURB curve is a kind of interpolation curve that can be expressed by a few variables. The electric field of a conductor is computed by Charge Simulation Method(CSM) while that of a spacer by Surface Charge Method(SCM); this mixed calculation method is adopted for the electric field optimization. For calculation of the initial and optimal shapes, the Gauss-Newton method, which is quite easy to formulate and has slightly faster convergence rate than other optimization techniques, was used. The tangential electric field, the total electric field, and the product of the tangential electric field and area (Area Effect) were chosen as the optimization objective function by the average value of electric field for the determined initial shape.

Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) has low operating temperature and high efficiency. And PEMFC consists of many components as bipolar plate, gas diffusion layer, membrane etc.. Flow-field in bipolar plate roles path for transporting reactants to membrane. Therefore a design of flow-field has an effect on PEMFC's performance. In this study, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations were performed for comparing mixed multiple serpentine (MMS) flow-field and multiple serpentine (MS) flow-field. And we studied an effect according to change mixing region design in MMS flow-field. Finally the applicability of results is verified by performing CFD simulation about fixed MMS flow-field which is combined good designs.

The equivalent source method(ESM) is used for the calculation of the internal pressure field for an enclosure which can have arbitrary boundary conditions and nay include internal objects which scatter the sound field. The advantage of using ESM is that it requires relatively low computing cost and is easy to model the internal diffracting objects. Typical ESM modeling uses two groups of equivalent source positions. One group includes the first order images of the source inside the enclosure. The Positions of the other group are usually on a spherical surface some distance outside the enclosure. The normal velocity on the surfaces of the enclosure walls is evaluated at a larger number of positions than there are equivalent sources. The sum of the squared difference between this velocity and the expected is minimized by adjusting the strength of the equivalent sources. This study is on the optimal far field sources positions when using the equivalent source method. In general, the far field sources are evenly distributed on a surface of a virtual sphere which is centered at the enclosure with a sufficiently large radius. In this study. optimal far field source locations are searched using simulated annealing method for various radii of spheres where far field sources are located. Simulation results showed that optimally located sources with adequate distance away from the enclosure center gave better result than sources with even distribution even with a smaller number of far field sources.

Our purpose is to present a novel technique for delivering craniospinal irradiation in the supine position using a perfect match, field-in-field (FIF) intrafractional feathering, and simple forward-optimization technique. To achieve this purpose, computed tomography simulation was performed with patients in the supine position. Half-beam, blocked, opposed, lateral, cranial fields with a collimator rotation were matched to the divergence of the superior border of an upper-spinal field. Fixed field parameters were used, and the isocenter of the upper-spinal field was placed at the same source-to-axis distance (SAD), 20 cm inferior to the cranial isocenter. For a lower-spinal field, the isocenter was placed 40 cm inferior to the cranial isocenter at a constant SAD. Both gantry and couch rotations for the lower-spinal field were used to achieve perfect divergence match with the inferior border of the upper-spinal field. A FIF technique was used to feather the craniospinal and spinal-spinal junction daily by varying the match line over 2 cm. The dose throughout the target volume was modulated using the FIF simple forward optimization technique to obtain homogenous coverage. Daily, image-guided therapy was used to assure and verify the setup. This supine-position, perfect match craniospinal irradiation technique with FIF intrafractional feathering and dose modulation provides a simple and safe way to deliver treatment while minimizing dose inhomogeneity.
The present study is focused on the subgrid scale combustion model in context with a Large Eddy Simulation. In order to deal with detailed chemical kinetic, the level-set method based on a flamelet model is addressed. In this model, the flame front is treated as an interface, represented by an iso-surface of a scalar field G. This iso-surface is convected by the velocity field and its filtered quantities are include the turbulent burning velocity, which is to be modelled. For modelling the turbulent burning velocity, an equation for the length-scale of the sub-filter flame front fluctuations was developed. The formulations and issues for the turbulent premixed and partially premixed flames are addressed in detail.
