This study examines how the stereotype in a society toward the roles of teachers and students affects their hair styles and ornaments and defines it through the cultural tag, 'like'. A survey of 362 male and female students in colleges located in Seoul and Gyeonggi areas was conducted. The data analysis was done by SPSS 10.0 and the difference of sample means between the groups in addition to basic statistics was evaluated. The t-test was made to test statistically significant difference between the groups. The results of the analysis are summarized as follows: First, the hair styles, shoes and ornaments that are recognized as appropriate for the roles of male students are short cut and black hair, sneakers and necktie. In that case of female students, medium and long hair style, black and brown hair, Loafer, hairpin and hairband are recognized properly. The hair styles, shoes and ornaments that are recognized as appropriate for the roles of male teachers are short cut and black hair, oxfords and necktie. In that case of female teachers, cut, medium, long, permanent and up style, 1)lack and brown hair, pumps, necklace, ring, earring, bracelet, hairpin, hairband, scarf and muffler are recognized appropriately. Second, the stereotype of male students and teachers's roles was more traditional, normative, and limited than that of female students and teachers's. The role of female teachers showed more generous than that of male students, female students, and male teachers.

The purpose of this study was to provide data that can be used to suggest idealistic anchor's image to capture ratings for the news program and to suggest guide for casting and training anchors for the broadcasting stations by examining the idealistic looks and images of TV news anchors by asking the general viewers who watch TV, The research methods was questionnaire survey. The subjects were 839 male and female audiences in theire 20's and 40's who residing in Seoul and Gyeonggi area. The study results are as follows: 1) The factors that decide impression of a female anchor The factors that decide female anchor's impression were 'specialty factor, friendliness factor, elegance factor, dynamic factor, and attractiveness factor'. 2) The difference in formation of impression according to makeup and hair style of a female anchor In case of specialty and friendliness factors scored high when putting on natural makeup, dynamic factors scored high when putting on elegant makeup, and attractiveness factor when putting on natural and romantic makeup. All factor were high when a female anchor had short-cut style and straight hair 3) Formation of anchor's impression from makeup and hair style according to the perceiver's variables (gender and age) Male and female audiences both gave hish score for a female anchor's specialty such as 'confident and reliable' and friendliness such as 'warm and comfortable' when a female anchor puts on natural makeup. They gave high score for attractiveness factor such as' good impression and refined' when putting on romantic makeup and high score for dynamic factor such as 'positive and confident' when putting on elegant makeup. Both male and female audiences gave high score fur all except friendliness factor when a female anchor had short-cut style compared to bobbed hair and high score far specialty factor when a female anchor had straight hair. The audiences both in their 20's and 40's gave high score for specialty and friendliness when a female anchor put on natural makeup while the perceivers at their 20's gave high score for elegance and dynamic factor when a female anchor put on elegant makeup. The audiences both in their 20's and 40's gave high score for all factors when female anchor had short-cut hair.

본 연구는 아시아 최대 저비용 항공사인 A 항공사에서 비행 근무 중인 객실승무원의 헤어스타일 유형을 분류하였다. 객실 승무원들은 일정한 출퇴근 시간을 유지하는 것이 아니라 비행스케줄에 따라 출퇴근 시간의 다양화로 헤어스타일도 변화되기 마련이다. 따라서 여성 객실승무원의 경우 출근하기 전 시간적 여유가 있을 때는 쪽머리나 업스타일과 같은 헤어스타일을 유지하기도 한다. 그러나 머리를 다듬는 시간이 적을 때는 원랭스 커트와 그래쥬에이션과 같은 일상의 헤어스타일을 유지하거나 포니테일과 같은 묶은 머리를 선호한다. 객실승무원들은 다양한 헤어스타일을 유지하지만 모발의 색조는 자연 갈색이나 약간 밝은 염색을 선호하고 과도한 탈색에 의한 밝은 명도 모발은 선호하지 않는다.

In this study, the sales status of female ball-jointed dolls and their parts were investi- gated and analyzed. Baseline data from 194 products and 54 brands on domestic and international Internet sites was gathered for the manufacture of ball-jointed dolls and the development of prototype costumes for them. The results are as follows. First, the sizes used for ball-jointed dolls are SD, USD, MSD, 13SD, and 70SD together with height. This study analyzed 39 sizes (15~70cm) by classifying them into numbered groups: 1 (15~22cm), 2 (23~33cm), 3 (35~51cm), 4 (53~62cm), and 5 (63~70cm). The price varied depending on the size; for example, 50cm dolls were approximately 45,000 won, while limited editions were sold at high prices, regardless of their size. They were classified into designs according to their body proportions and facial features as follows: 7- or 8-head-figure, 5-head figure, and 3-head figure, and were presented proportionally as images of women, adolescents, and infants. Second, the head was incised so that the top could be removed horizontally or the facial region vertically, allowing attachment of the eyeballs (which were either glass, resin, or acrylic) to the inside. More than 30 different colors were sold. Various wig styles were provided, including cut, short hair, and perm. These were made from human hair, heat-resistant fiber, and artificial hair. For the hands, there was a design expressing human hand gestures. For the feet, heels were in the form of wearing either high-heels or flat soles.

Fine structural characteristics of eggs (nits) found on the scalp hairs of Korean children were observed with scanning electron microscopy. An egg is structurally composed of four parts: the cementum, nit body, operculum, and aerophyle. The total length of an egg is about 1.5 mm. The glue secreted from the female louse completely surrounds the 1 mm hair shaft and forms the cementum. The thickness of the cementum at the end of the nit body was found to be more than 5 times the thickness at the end toward the scalp. The nit body is shaped like a goblet with a very smooth surface. The operculum and aerophyles are located at the apiculus area. In the circular operculum, there are 10 aerophyles concentrated on the side of the hair shaft surface that are shaped like a dome. Three aerophyles in the center are surrounded by 7 aerophyles. Each aerophyle is dome shaped with a diameter of $65{\mu}m$ and a respiratory pathway with a $15{\sim}25{\mu}m$ opening at the center. On the cut surface where the operculum is separated as the egg hatches, long grooves about $1{\mu}m$ thick are uniformly formed transversely. These long grooves facilitate the separation of the operculum through body expansion at the time of hatching.

A 11-year, 9-month-old female Shih-tzu was referred for evaluation of the body conditions. According to the physical examination and ultrasonography, the left ovarian mass was detected. For the removal of ovarian mass, an ovariohysterectomy was performed. Grossly, the ovarian mass was full of hairmatrix on the cut surface of the mass. Histopathological findings revealed a characteristic of teratoma, such as laminated keratines, hair, sebaceous glands, neuron tissue, differentiated bone and cartilage. The ovarian mass was well-differentiated components of 2 germ layers, and diagnosed as a mature teratoma.

The pilomatricoma (calcifying epithelioma of Malherbe) is rare benign hard, spherical and freely movable cutaneous tumor, which was differentiated from hair cells, particulary hair cortex cells. It is usually occured as a single, asymptomatic, 0.5 cm to 3.0 cm sized, deep seated, firm nodule, covered by normal or pink skin. It arises chiefly in young people, including children, and most often in the head, neck and upper extrimites. The authers experienced a case of pilomatricoma which occured in preauricular region. This case was summarized as follows. 1. 10 years old female has suffered from hard subepidermal mass on preauricular area and she visited our out patient clinic. So we performed surgical extirpation and the excised specimen was pathologically examined. 2. Grossly the tumor measures 2.0 cm in diameter and firm, bosselated, spherical shaped which covered by a thin layer of fibrous tissue. On cut section, it shows spicular gritty surfaces, well encapsulation, interwoven and keratotic lamellae. 3. Histopathologically, the epithelial masses of the tumor are composed of two type of cells, basophilic cells and shodow cells. The basophilic cells resemble hair matrix cells which posses round or elogated, deeply basophilic nuclei and scanty cytoplasm. The shadow cells show a central, unstained shadow at the site of the lost nucleus. Gradual development of basophilic cells into shadow cells can be observed. Foci of calcification are present within the lobule of shadow cells. The stroma of the tumor shows a considerable foreign body giant cell reaction adjacent to the shadow cells. 4. No recurrence was observed until post-operative 40 months.

본 연구는 4차 산업시대를 살고 있는 한국여성들의 헤어 트랜드 정립화에 기여하고자 연령, 학력, 결혼 여부, 직업군, 월평균 소득, 거주지 등 인구통계학적 특성요인들에 따른 헤어커트의 선호도에 관하여 분석하였다. 설문지 배포 후 수합된 305부의 설문지를 통계분석을 실시하였다. 설문지 분석 결과 연령대가 높아질수록 그레쥬에이션 형태를 많이 하는 것을 확인하였으며, 인구통계학적 특성에 따라 차이가 각각 상이(相異)하게 나타났다(p<0.05). 이러한 인구통계학적 특성에 따른 여성 헤어커트의 형태와 차이를 분석함으로써 4차 산업혁명시대를 살고 있는 한국 여성들의 세련되고 혁신적인 헤어 트랜드 정립화에 기여하고자 한다. 본 연구를 통해 한국여성 본인에게 부합되는 가장 이상적인 헤어스타일을 찾을 수 있으며, 향후 다양하고 창조적인 뉴 모드의 헤어스타일에 대한 개발의 시발점으로 작용할 수 있을 것이다. 또한 헤어미용 교육의 기초자료로 활용되어 여성의 개성을 뚜렷하게 표현할 수 있는 객관적 지표로 적극적으로 사용될 것으로 사료된다.

Purpose: Reconstruction of eyebrow defects after wide excision of the benign and malignant tumors present a cosmetic challenge to the plastic surgeon. There were several methods for reconstruction of partial eyebrow defect with local flaps except hair bearing composite graft. We introduce simple eyebrow reconstruction with bilateral advancement flap and tattooing on the idea that eyebrow tattooing is popular permanent eyebrow makeup among elderly Korean women. Methods: The flaps were designed on both ends of the eyebrow defect along the upper and lower margin of the eyebrow. Both flaps were cut, undermined and were moved centrally to cover the defect. Both flaps were attached along the vertical suturing line. The rest of each flap was sown with dog-ears revised minimally. Scar lines would be hidden along the natural borders of the eyebrow if possible. The resulting vertical scar finally was covered with hair. After 8 months, eyebrow tattooing would be done to camouflage eyebrow shortening and scar. Results: Partial eyebrow defect was reconstructed successfully with bilateral advancement flap and tattooing. The postoperative scar was inconspicuous and eyebrow looked symmetric. Conclusion: We recommend partial eyebrow reconstruction with bilateral advancement flap and tattooing for the elderly Korean female patients after excision of small tumor in and around eyebrow region.

Adenomyosis is a nonneoplastic proliforation of uterine glands characterized by multicentric infiltration of endometrial tissues into the myometrium. A female domestic short hair cat with unknown age was referred to local animal hospital in Busan for ovariohysterectomy to prevent the unwanted offspring. At the time of surgery, the uterus was enlarged with multiple nodular protrusion on the serosa. On the cut surface of uterus, elevation of the endometrium and hypertrophied myometrium were observed. Microscopically, the uterus was characterized by severe proliforation of endometrial glands into the lumen and within the myometrium. The intra-myometrial endometrium is circumferentially surrounded by bundles of hypertrophic smooth muscle cells. These endometrial glands had tall columnar epithelium lacking nuclear atypia and mitoses. In our best knowledge, this is the first report of feline adenomyosis in Korea.
