The purpose of this study was to investigate if there were any differences between fashion models and female college students' body cathexis and to examine the perception of their body form and satisfaction of clothing fit according to height, weight and body type. For this study 378 people, including 113 fashion models and 265 female college students were analyzed. Means, t-test and ${\chi}^2$-test were used in data analyses. Significant differences were found between fashion models and female college students' body cathexis. For instance fashion models were more positive about their bodies especially concerning height. Fashion Models and female college students differed significantly in perception of their body form according to weight and body type. Perhaps they have another criteria. Fashion Models and female college students differed significantly in satisfaction of clothing fit according to weight and body type. The taller and Thinner, The higher satisfaction of Clothing fit.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference of body composition between male elder and female elder. This study consisted of elder male(n=48) and elder female(n=90). The average age of elder male and female was 73.81, 71.38 years. The data were analyzed with t-test, using SPSS PC+ program. Body composition was measured using Inbody 2.0(seoul, korea) of segmental multi-frequn-cy impedance analyzer technique. The result of this study were the following: 1. The difference of Body composition 1) The muscle mass(kg) of elder male was significantly(P<.00) higher than elder female by 8.30kg. 2) The %fat of elder female was significantly(P<.00) higher than elder male by 8.65%. 3) The WHR(%) elder female was no significantly higher than elder male by 0.01%. 4) The free fat mass(kg) of elder male was significantly(P<.00) higher than elder female by 8.67kg. 5) The TBW(l) of elder male was significantly(P<.00) higher than elder female by 6.081 The factor of significant difference of between elder male and female was muscle mass(kg), %fat, free fat mass(kg), total body water(l).

This study (1) explores female consumers' attitudes toward fat people and perceptions about plus-size models, (2) addresses female consumers' responses to models with different body sizes, and (3) examines the effect of plus-size model presence on female consumers' body image. We collected an online questionnaire from a total of 600 female participants in their 20's and 30's. Stimuli included six full-colored photo images of models with thin and plus body sizes (three in each group). Images were captured from the online shopping site of the fashion brand currently providing both average and plus-size clothes. Respondents were randomly assigned one of the groups by model size. Results support the sociocultural perspective that a thin/ideal body of models has a negative influence on female viewers' sociocultural attitudes toward appearance, mood state and body satisfaction. Findings also suggest that exposure to plus-size models can reduce negative media effects on females body image perceptions, regardless of individual body size.
The author had tried to identify the sex from single tooth by detecting F-body of Y-chromosome in the nucleus of the dental pulp cells of 70 persons aged from 4 to 61 years under a fluorescent miscroscope. The results were as follows : 1. In the cell nuclei of male and female dental pulp at refrigeratory, the rate of F-body appearancd ranged 42-86%(average 61.06%) in male, while it was 0-6%(average 1.86%) in female, indicationg that male could be distinctly differentiated from female by F-body. 2. With male and female dental pulp puterfide by leaving in at room temperature, the rate of F-body appearance ranged 35-58%(average 48.20%) in male, 1-3%(average1.70%) in female, indicating that it was possible to distinguish male and female by F-body. 3. Even in heat-treated male teeth at $100^{\circ}C$,10 mins, the rate of F-body appearace proved to be 32-56%(averaged 42.50%), also indicating the possibility of identifying male. 4. When detecting of F-body in process of time, the rate of F-body appearance did not show major charges. 5. It was reaffirmed that F-body detection method was a positive determination method of male.

Body composition was measured using Inbody 2.0(seoul, korea) of segmental multi-frequency impedance analyzer technique. IADL was measured with Philadelphia Geriatric Center IADL. The result of this study were the following: 1. The difference of Body composition 1) The %fat of elder female was significantly(p<0.05) higher than elder male by 11.48%. 2) The fat mass(kg) of elder female was significantly(p<0.05) higher than elder male by 6.28kg. 3) The free fat mass(kg) of elder male was significantly(p<0.05) higher than elder female by 9.03kg. 4) The muscle mass(kg) of elder male was significantly(p<0.05) higher than elder female by 8.63kg. 5) The WHR(%) elder female was no significantly higher than elder male by 0.03%. 6) The TBW(l) of elder male was significantly(p<0.05) higher than elder female by 6.321. The factor of significant difference of between elder male and female was %fat, fat mass(kg), free fat mass(kg), total body water(l). 2. The difference of IADL 1) IADL of elder male was no significantly higher than elder female by 1.20. As a result of this study, optimal body composition group was elder male group. Optimal body composition of elder had improved IADL. In addition to, this result of this study, it can suggested the consideration of the Health promotion program for elder.
This study compares the perceived body image of female college students in Korea and Japan as well as explains the difference in the level of self-esteem, body cathexis, body image and fashion leadership based on nationality and body. The sense of fashion leadership affected by these factors was also analyzed. A high ratio of Korean and Japanese female students perceived themselves as obese compared to actual body physique. It was shown that body was highly distorted. They showed a comparatively low level of satisfaction with appearance in contrast to their high interest in their appearance and weight. Thin bodied individuals showed a high level of self-esteem and body cathexis; however, persons with an obese body showed a low level of body cathexis. They showed high interest in appearance regardless of body physique; however, they remain unsatisfied with their appearance. Individuals with an obese body and a standard somatotype showed a high concern with weight. A high fashion opinion leadership was reciprocal to a high interest in appearance and satisfaction with appearance. Korean female students showed an indirect positive effect on fashion opinion leadership through body cathexis, self-esteem, interest in appearance, and satisfaction with appearance. A thin body showed a positive effect on fashion opinion leadership and an obese body had a negative effect. Fashion innovativeness was directly influenced persons with a high degree of self-esteem and interest in appearance. Japanese female students were directly affected by fashion innovativeness; however, Korean female students were indirectly affected by fashion innovativeness through self-esteem and interest in appearance.
This study analyzed the body shape of the body of 17~19 years old female students using the SPSS 20.0 statistical program according to the 7th Korea Human Body Survey. Factor analysis was based on six factors including body size, body height, shoulder length, and width, upper body length, hip length, and shoulder inclination related factors. Through this cluster analysis, the body shape of late adolescent female student was classified into four types. Body type 1 was the highest body height factor, and the upper body length and the hip length factor were lower. It was analyzed as 'Long leg in the body'. Body type 2 is the 'narrow shoulder skinny type' with high hip and shoulder slope factors and low body size, body height, shoulder length, and width factor. Body type 3 showed body size, shoulder length, height and hip length factor, and body height factor was rather low 'low hip obese body shape'. Body type 4 was analyzed as 'lower shoulder long upper body type' with higher upper body length factor and lower body size and shoulder slope factor. It is thought that when the pattern is made, it is possible to produce excellent patterns by fitting the dimensions of the body, as well as the dimensions of the shoulder width, the slope, and the hip length.
For the measurement on the fat content if University Students, an intensive examination was conducted on a total of 3,030 students(male 2,577, female 453), from 16 to 25 years of age. The subjects were all students who had passed the written entrance examination for Seoul National University. Total Body Fat amount was measurement by skin-fold thickness with a skin-fold caliper(Manufactured by Cambridge Scientific Industrial Inc. U.S.A.) at four sites of the body, and it was calculated by Kim's and Lee's regression equation. As a result of this survey, the following conclusions were obtained; 1. Physical Measurements: i) The average of body height by anthropometric was male $167.95{\pm}4.85cm$ and female $156.03{\pm}4.56cm$. ii) The average body weight by anthropometric was male $56.42{\pm}5.65kg$ and female $51.29{\pm}5.34kg$. iii) The average of chest-girth by anthropometric was male $89.95{\pm}5.33cm$ and female $81.36{\pm}4.89cm$. iv) The average of sitting-height by anthropometric was male $91.23{\pm}4.98cm$ and female $86.18{\pm}4.15cm$. v) The average of arm circumference by anthropometric was male $23.76{\pm}2.17cm$ and female $22.39{\pm}1.79cm$. In all cases the male measurements were higher than the female. 2. The mean skin-fold thickness measured with a large skin-fold caliper was; At the sub-scapular: male $11.54{\pm}4.84mm$ and female $14.07{\pm}4.49mm$, Abdominal: male $10.36{\pm}7.09mm$ and female $14.95{\pm}5.47mm$, Lumbar; male $12.55{\pm}6.44mm$ and female $17.02{\pm}6.57mm$, Upper arm: male $6.28{\pm}3.71mm$ and female $11.62{\pm}3.99mm$, Total average: male $10.18{\pm}5.52mm$ and female $14.41{\pm}5.13mm$, in all cases the female measurements were higher than the male. 3. Data on body fat amounts according to body fat weight regression equation were: in male: Fat weight=10.56kg, Fat free weight=45.86kg, Fat weight/Total body mass(%)=18.71%, (Body fat amount %), Fat weight/Fat free weight(%)=23.02%, Fat free weight/Total body mass(%)=81.29%. in female: Fat weight=12.23kg, Fat free weight=39.06kg, Fat weight/Total body mass(%)=23.85%, Fat weight/Fat free weight(%)=31.31%, Fat free weight/Total body mass(%)=76.15%. The females value was higher than the males.
The aim of the present study was to investigate the ecological relationship between female body size (=shell length) and fecundity in a Korean population of protandric hermaphrodite, Crepidula onyx Sowerby, using 6 reproductive variables (the number of capsules per brood, capsule size, the number of embryos per capsule, total number of embryos per brood, egg size, and larval size). The investigation was based on 32 females, 107 egg capsules, 263 eggs, and 250 veliger larvae sampled in January 2000, from Yangpo, the southeastern coast of Korea. All foregoing reproductive variables, except larval size, were significantly correlated with the female body size (p<0.001$\~0.01$). There was a significant increase both in the number of capsules per brood and the number of embryos per capsule with female body size (p<0.001). Consequently, the fecundity of the female C. onyx increased with female body size to over 14.65 mm (the minimum size of egg brooding in the present study). This investigation, therefore, provides additional evidence that female fecundity of protandric hermaphrodites is positively correlated with female body size.

The objectives of this study were to classify the contents of lifestyle of adolescents, to investigate the relationships between lifestyles and appearance behavior, and to examine how appearance behavior was influenced by lifestyles and demographic variables of male and female adolescents. The method of the study was survey research by using questionnaires. Subjects were 414 high school students in Seoul: 176 were males and 238 females. Five dimensions of lifestyles were derived by factor analysis: ‘digital orientation', 'positive activity', 'achievement orientation', 'material orientation', and ‘frugality'. Digital orientation had, in case of the male, a positive relation with body-modification need, a positive one with appearance interest in female. Positive activity had positive relations with appearance interest and body satisfaction in both male and female. Appearance interest, weight interest, and body-modification need levels were significantly higher for female than for male, whereas body satisfaction were higher for male than for female. Appearance interest of male was influenced by positive activities and social stratification. Appearance interest of female was influenced by material orientation and positive activity. Body-modification need of male was influenced by digital orientation and frugality(-), that of female only influenced by material orientation. Fashion and brand preference of male was influenced by material orientation, frugality(-), and social stratification. In case of the female, fashion was influenced by positive activity, material orientation and frugality(-), brand preference influenced by material orientation and positive activity.
