  • For stable and sustainable energy supply, distributed generator (DG) has become an essential and indispensable element from environmental and energy security perspectives. However, installation of DG in distribution systems may cause negative affects on feeders because power outputs of DG could be changed irregularly. One of major negative affects is variation in voltage profile. In general, voltage regulation devices such as under load tap changer (ULTC) at distribution substation and step voltage regulator (SVR) along feeder in distribution system are used to maintain customers' receiving voltage within a predetermined range. These regulators are controlled by line drop compensation (LDC) method which calls for two parameters; the equivalent impedance and the load center voltage. Therefore, consideration of DG outputs in the LDC parameter design procedure may give large impact on the installable DG capacity. This paper proposes a method that estimates maximum Installable DG capacity considering LDC parameters of ULTC and SVR. The proposed algorithm is tested with model network.

  • Distributed generation (DG) is predicted to play an increasing role in the electric power system of the near future. Distributed generation is by definition that is of limited size (roughly 10MW or less) and interconnected at the substation, distribution feeder or customer load levels. The effects of generation sources within a distribution network on the system losses are investigated in this paper. WLAV state estimation is performed with the composite distribution system containing DG. Simulations with test cases are performed and the results are presented, using IEEE34 bus radial distribution system.

Rail Toward River: The Relationship Between Railroad and River Transportation in Korea During Japanese Rule

  • The aim of this research is to analyze and periodize the relationship between railroad and river transportation as one aspect of the transformation of the land transportation system in Korea. As a result, three phases can be observed: a first phase of equality and interdependence (1910s); a second phase, subordinating rivers to feeder lines under railroad's dominance; and a third phase when trucks and buses became a major means for local transportation in place of traditional shipping routes. River ports were among the main planned destinations during the first and second phases, but such plans were changed or withdrawn after the third phase. This relationship between river and rail illustrates one geopolitical factor relating to the development of Korea's rail transportation network.

  • The paper discussed various techniques for islanding detection and described in detail the working principles of ROCOF and vector shift relays. A simulator was used to investigate why the stability of both types of relays maybe affected by network and load switching, short-circuit faults and in the case of a ROCOF relay the loss of bulk generation or the tripping of a transmission feeder. Finally, to enhance the reliability of Loss of Mains protection, a new islanding detection technique based on a GPS synchronized phasor measurement system was proposed.

Reliability Evaluation Technique for Electrical Distribution Networks Considering Planned Outages

  • The reliability evaluation of the electrical distribution networks (EDN) requires sufficient consideration of the effects of planned outages. The planned outages of the EDN can be divided, by outage models and their effects on the reliability into two major categories: by equipment and by feeder. After studying the characteristics of different categories of planned outages, this paper expands the classification of load points by outage time from 4 types to 7 types and defines corresponding reliability parameters for the different types. By using the section algorithm, this paper proposes a reliability evaluation technique of EDN considering equipment random failures and two categories of planned outages. The proposed technique has been applied to the RBTS-BUS6 test system and some practical EDNs in China. The study results demonstrate that the proposed technique is of higher practical value and can be used for evaluating the reliability performance of EDN more efficiently considering the planned outages.

  • This paper proposes a new model for harmonic analysis in 2${\times}$25㎸ traction power supply system including inverted feeder, contact line, rails and auto-transformer. The system model is based on four-port representation which is an extension of two-port network theory. In order to verify the proposed approach, we have analysed and tested real traction power feeding system focused on the amplification of harmonic current. The calculation results front tile proposed approach and the measurement data from the test are widely described in the paper.

무선랜용 U-Slot $2{\times}2$ 배열 마이크로스트립 광대역 안테나 설계 (Design of U-Slot $2{\times}2$ array microstrip wideband antenna for wireless LAN)

  • 본 논문에서는 5 GHz 대역 무선랜용 광대역, 고이득 패치 안테나를 설계 제작하였다. 마이크로스트립 안테나의 대역폭을 개선하기 위해서 첫 번째 직사각형 패치에 U-Slot을 삽입하여 마이크로스트립 라인-동축 프로브 급전방식으로 급전시켰으며, 두 번째 안테나를 $2{\times}2$ 배열 형태로 구현하여 이득을 개선하였다. 따라서 결과적으로 본 연구에서는 5 GHz 대역 광대역 U-Slot $2{\times}2$ 배열 패치 안테나를 설계 제작한다. 제작된 안테나는 Anritsu 37169A VNA(Vector Network Analyzer)를 사용하여 측정한 결과 입력 반사손실 VSWR 2:1인 범위가 $5.110 GHz{\sim} 6.142 GHz$까지 약 1 GHz라는 광대역 특성을 나타내었다. 또한 5.15 GHz, 5.35 GHz, 5.50 GHz, 5.85 GHz에 대하여 방사패턴을 측정한 결과 E-평면과 H-평면에서 안테나 이득 13 dBi 이상,3 dB 빔폭 $30^{\circ}$이상이라는 특성을 나타내었다.

  • 직류 전철변전소의 가선전압은 전동차들의 회생제동 및 역행가속패턴에 따라 급격히 상승 또는 하강하는 특성을 갖는다. 가선전압 순시 변동폭을 최소로 유지함으로써, 전철변전소와 전동차들의 에너지 효율을 개선시키기 위한 다양한 연구들이 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문은 직류전철 변전소의 가선전압의 급격한 변동특성을 모델링하고 선형인공 신경망 알고리즘을 이용한 가선전압 회로모델의 파라메터 추정 방법을 제안하며, 최소자승법을 이용한 추정방법과의 비교를 통해 이 방법의 타당성을 입증한다. 가선전압 및 피더전류들의 누적 측정값을 사용하여 일괄처리 최소자승법으로 RC 병렬회로의 파라메터들을 추정한 결과를 제시하며, 실시간 가선전압 및 피더전류 측정값을 이용하여 오차역 전파방식으로 학습되는 선형인공신경망 기법 추정 결과를 분석한다.

부하차단을 포함한 배전계통 정전복구방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Outage Restoration Guide Including Load Cutoff in Distribution System)

  • 본 논문에서는 사고나 계획정전 등으로 인한 건전 정전구간에 신속하게 전원을 공급하는 방안을 제시하였다. 제시한 부하복구방안은 연계개폐기로부터 공급피더 방향으로 계통을 역방향으로 탐색하고 탐색시 저장된 경로와의 조합을 이용하여 구해짐으로써 계통의 탐색공간이 대폭 줄어들게 되어 신속한 복구방안의 제시가 가능하다. 또한 공급 여유량을 미리 확보하는 2단계의 부하복구, 모든 구간에 대한 복구가 불가능한 경우 부하를 차단하는 방안 등이 포함되어 있으므로 광역정전이나 다중사고 및 중요수용가를 고려한 부하복구, 배전자동화시스템과 연계된 부하 복구에도 이용할 수 있다.
