An Empirical study on improvement of operation for feeder vessel route between Busan and west coast of Japan

  • In this paper, practical problems for current feeder service between Busan port and west coast of Japan were extracted through in depth interviews with Japanese feeder vessel companies, shippers, and port authority based upon which major criteria (elements) for improvement of the feeder network are structured in hierarchic order and weighed relative importance through AHP method. From the questionnaire answered by Korean and Japanese port users and experts the weights of criteria were calculated and the shipping service was ranked the first by both parties with 0.235 and 0.217, respectively. The port service and support system ranked the second and the third, whereas the port marketing was shown to be the lowest of all. Considering the overall weights, the increase in a port loading and unloading speed of port service was followed by provision of dedicated deck for feeder vessel of port facilities for Korean respondents. Therefore, speed up of the port operations and providing docks for feeder vessel are to be firstly provided for more efficient feeder operations, which would be the basis for the construction of optimal transportation network.

  • A neural network method is applied for recognizing the orientation o f individual parts being fed from a bowl feeder. The system is designed in such a way that a part can be discriminated and sorting according to every possible stable orientation without implementing any a mechanical tooling. The operation of the bowl feeder is based on a 2D image obtained from an array of fiber optic sensor located on the feeder track. The acquired binary image of a moving and vibrating part is used as input to a neural network which, in turn, determines t he orientation of the part. The main task of the neural network, here is to synthesize the appropriate internal discriminant functions for the part orientation using the part features. A series of the experiments reveals several promising points on performance. Since the operation of the feeder is highly programmable, it is well suited for feeding and sorting small parts prior to small batch assembly work.

  • This paper Presents two distribution-feeder models to simplify complicated distribution system calculations. These equivalent models are developed to simulate the total series voltage drop at the end of the given feeder and the total line loss of the given feeder accurately. In addition, the proposed models are bidirectional. This means that power infeed can be at either end and the model is accurate. Also, it is shown that the proposed models are suitable for network reconfiguration.

  • Since a long work piece influences the natural frequency of the entire system with a miniature high speed spindle, a bar-feeder is used for a long work piece to improve the vibration characteristics of a spindle system. Therefore, it is very important to design optimally support positions between a bar-feeder and a long work piece for a miniature high speed spindle system. The goal of the current paper is to present an optimization method for the design of support positions between a bar-feeder and a long work piece. This optimization method is effectively composed of the method of design of experiment (DOE), the artificial neural network (ANN) and the genetic algorithm (GA). First, finite element models which include a high speed spindle, a long work piece and the support conditions of a bar-feeder were generated from the orthogonal array of the DOE method, and then the results of natural vibration analysis using FEM were provided for the learning inputs of the neural network. Finally, the design of bar-feeder support positions was optimized by the genetic algorithm method using the neural network approximations.

Feeder Loop Line Control for the Voltage Stabilization of Distribution Network with Distributed Generators

  • When renewable sources are connected to the distribution network in the form of a distributed generators(DGs), the effect of intermittent output appears as voltage fluctuation. The surplus power at the consumer ends results in the reverse power flow to the distribution network. This reverse power flow causes several problems to the distribution network such as overvoltage. Application of the reactive power control equipment and power flow control by means of BTB inverter have been suggested as the general solutions to overcome the overvoltage, but they are not economically feasible since they require high cost devices. Herein, we suggest the feeder loop line switch control method to solve the problem.

  • 단말버스 노선선정의 경우, 전체 네트워크로서의 노선선정 보다는 지하철 역 등의 특정 기종점과의 연계차원에서 단일 노선으로 취급하여 노선선정을 행함이 바람직하다. 본 연구에서는 이와 같은 관점 하에 마을버스 노선선정을 위한 간편 기법을 구축하였다. 검토대상 도로망 한정, 허용노선장에 의한 후보노선의 열거, 노선평가치에 의한 최종노선의 선정 등의 3가지 단계를 통해 단말기능으로서의 마을버스 노선을 선정하는 기법을 구축하였다.

  • 지선버스 노선선정의 경우, 전체 네트워크로서의 노선선정 보다는 지하철 역 등의 특정 기ㆍ종점과의 연계차원에서 단일 노선으로 취급하여 노선선정을 행함이 바람직하다. 본 연구에서는 이와 같은 관점 하에 정류장 대기시간, 환승시간 등은 고려하지 않고, 일정 기ㆍ종점을 연결하는 지선노선 선정을 위한 간편 기법을 구축하였다. 검토대상 도로망 한정, 허용노선장에 의한 후보노선의 열거, 노선평가치에 의한 최종 노선의 선정 등의 3가지 단계를 통해 지선기능으로서의 마을버스 노선을 선정하는 기법을 구축하였다.

  • In PCB assembling line, it needs SMD mounter. In this paper, the feeder of the SMD mounter, which carry component to the mounter is designed. Up to now, mechanical air feeder is mainly used. But in these days, it is developed to the electrical feeder with network. There are many kind of feeders with various control technique. In this paper, the feeder with BLDC motor and LON chip is designed and implemented. Then the experimental results are presented.

Network Analyzer study on the load current flow when one phase line of the feeder is out of seroice because of cutting. A.C.   • This paper proposes the improved fault decision algorithm using DWT(Discrete Wavelet Transform) and ANNs for the FRTU(Feeder Remote Terminal Unit) on the feeder in the power distribution system. Generally, the FRTU has the fault decision scheme detecting the phase fault, the ground fault. Especially FRTU has the function for 2000ms. This function doesn't operate FI(Fault Indicator) for the Inrush current generated in switching time. But it has a defect making it impossible for the FI to be operated from the real fault current in inrush restraint time. In such a case, we can not find the fault zone from FI information. Accordingly, the improved fault recognition algorithm is needed to solve this problem. The DWT analysis gives the frequency and time-scale information. The neural network system as a fault recognition was trained to distinguish the inrush current from the fault status by a gradient descent method. In this paper, fault recognition algorithm is improved by using voltage monitoring system, DWT and neural network. All of the data were measured in actual 22.9kV power distribution system.
