Discrete-Time Feedback Error Learning with PD Controller

  • In this study, the basic motor control system had been investigated. The Discrete-Time Feedback Error Learning (DTFEL) method is used to control this system. This method is anologous to the original continuous-time version Feedback Error Learning(FEL) control which is proposed as a control model of cerebellum in the field of computational neuroscience. The DTFEL controller consists of two main parts, a feedforward controller part and a feedback controller part. Each part will deals with different control problems. The feedback controller deals with robustness and stability, while the feedforward controller deals with response speed. The feedforward controller, used to solve the tracking control problem, is adaptable. To make such the tracking perfect, the adaptive law is designed so that the feedforward controller becomes an inverse system of the controlled plant. The novelty of FEL method lies in its use of feedback error as a teaching signal for learning the inverse model. The PD control theory is selected to be applied in the feedback part to guarantee the stability and solve the robust stabilization problems. The simulation of each individual part and the integrated one are taken to clarify the study.

  • The parameter modification of the initial FEM model to match it with the experimental results needs the modal information and the modal sensitivity matrix to the parameter change. There are two cases this methodology is ill-equip to deal with; the deficiency of the necessary modal information and the ill-conditioning of the sensitivity matrix. In this research, a novel concept of the feedback exciter that uses the summation of the white noise and the signals from the measurement sensors multiplied with feedback gains as the reference signal is proposed. There are 2 advantages using this external feedback excitation. First, we can use the change of the system response such as modal data by the active energy Path from the sensor to the exciter. This change of the system response can be additional clues to the system dynamics that we want to know. Secondly, the external energy Path alternates the offset of the Parameter change to the system response. That means the modal sensitivity of the parameters becomes different from the original sensitivities by the feedback excitation. Through the feedback loop, we can change the similar modal sensitivities of some updating parameters and consequently discriminate the parameters using the closed-loop modal data. To demonstrate the discrimination performance, the parameter estimation of an indeterminate structure by use of the feedback method is introduced.

  • Extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) signaling pathway is one of the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signal transduction pathways. This pathway is known as pivotal in many signaling networks that govern proliferation, differentiation and cell survival. The ERK signaling pathway comprises positive and negative feedback loops, depending on whether the terminal kinase stimulates or inhibits the activation of the initial level. In this paper, we attempt to model the ERK pathway by considering both of the positive and negative feedback mechanisms based on Michaelis-Menten kinetics. In addition, we propose a fraction ratio model based on the mass action law. We first develop a mathematical model of the ERK pathway with fraction ratios. Secondly, we analyze the dynamical properties of the fraction ratio model based on simulation studies. Furthermore, we propose a concept of an inhibitor, catalyst, and substrate (ICS) controller which regulates the inhibitor, catalyst, and substrate concentrations of the ERK signal transduction pathway. The ICS controller can be designed through dynamical analysis of the ERK signaling transduction pathway within limited concentration ranges.

고막이식형 마이크로폰을 위한 이식형 인공중이 적응 피드백 제거기 구현 (An Adaptive Feedback Canceller for Fully Implantable Hearing Device Using Tympanic Membrane Installed Microphone)

  • Many implantable hearing aids are being developed as alternatives to conventional hearing aids which has inconveniences for use and social stigma that make hearing-impaired people avoid to wear it. Particularly, the fully-implantable middle ear hearing devices (F-IMEHD) are being actively studied for mixed or sensorineural hearing impaired people. In development of F-IMEHD, the most difficult problem is improving the performance of implantable microphone. Recently, Cho et al. have studied the tympanic membrane installed microphone which has better sensitivity and is easier to operate on patient than the microphone implanted under the skin. But, it may cause howling problem due to the feedback signal via oval window and ossicle chain from the transducer on round window in the middle ear cavity, therefore, a feedback canceller is necessary. In this paper, we designed NLMS (normalized least mean square) adaptive feedback canceller for F-IMEHD with tympanic membrane installed microphone and a transducer implemented at round window, and computer simulation was performed to verify its operation. The designed adaptive feedback canceller has a delay filter, a 64 point FIR fixed filter and a 8-tap adaptive FIR filter. Computer simulation of the feedback path is modeled by using the data obtained through human cadaver experiment.

  • 이동 멀티미디어 통신에서의 주요한 요소기술 중의 하나는 높은 품질의 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 광대역 신호전송기술이다. 이와 같은 광대역 이동통신 시스템을 위해서는 높은 주파수효율과 낮은 전력소모를 가지면서 시변 다중경로 페이딩 채널에 의한 신호왜곡을 극복해야 한다 따라서 단일반송파의 짧은 버스트 데이터전송을 위한 적응적 결정귀환 등화방식이 하나의 해결책으로 고려되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 짧은 훈련심볼을 포함한 버스트신호를 갖는 시스템의 성능향상을 위하여 연판정 귀환을 갖는 MTLMS (multiple-training least mean square) 기반의 DFE(decision feedback equalizer)를 제안하고 시뮬레이션을 통하여 이동무선채널에서 그 성능을 분석한다.

정적챔버에서 스파크 플러그 이온프로브를 이용한 공연비와 이온신호와의 상관관계에 대한 연구 (A Study on Correlation between A/F and ion signal in a Constant-Volume Chamber Using Spark-plug Ionization Probe Itself)

  • Spark plug ionization signal could be useful in an internal combustion engine as a feedback signal for combustion diagnostics such as misfire detection, knocking detection and lambda control, but the signal has high level of cyclic fluctuation in an internal combustion engine due to residual gas, pressure, temperature, mixture composition in the spark gap. Because of this reason it is very difficult to apply ion signal to commercial engine control. In this Study, a correlation between A/F and spark plug ionization signal was studied in a constant volume chamber. Constant volume chamber with gas phase fuel(Propane) has homogeneous fuel composition , no mixture flow, same pressure and temperature on each test. The results show that mean chemi-ion signal has the highest correlation with A/F and intial pressure change has on effect on the thermal-ion signal and not on chemi-ion signal.

UHF 대역용 Cartesian Feedback Loop 선형화 칩 설계 (Design of Cartesian Feedback Loop Linearization Chip for UHF Band)

  • 본 논문에서는 UHF 대역(380~910 MHz)의 간이 무선 및 TRS(Trunked Radio System) 단말기에서 이용 가능한 CFL(Cartesian Feedback Loop) 선형화 칩을 Si 기반의 $0.6\;{\mu}m$ BiCMOS 공정을 이용하여 설계 및 제작한 결과를 보였다. 단말기의 송신 전력을 가변하기 위한 이득 제어 회로를 궤환 경로뿐만 아나라 순방향 경로에도 삽입함으로써 CFL의 안정성을 일정하게 유지하도록 하였으며, 무전기 PTT(Push-To-Talk) 동작에 적합하고 구현이 용이한 S/H(Sample & Hold) 구조를 이용한 DC-offset 제거 기능을 구현하였다. 송신 시험 결과, CQPSK(Compatible QPSK) 신호 인가 시, PEP(Peak Envelope Power) 3 W(34.8 dBm) 출력에서 FCC의 방사 마스크 규격을 만족함을 확인하였으며, Two-tone 인가 시, 30 dB 이상의 3차 IMD 성분 개선을 확인하였다.

  • Decode and Forward (DF) 방식을 사용하는 OFDM 기반 Full Duplex Relay (FDR)에서는 주파수 영역에서의 궤환 간섭 제거 방식이 더욱 효율적이다. 그러나 OFDM 기반의 FDR에서 궤환 간섭 신호 제거 및 복조를 주파수 영역에서 수행하는 경우 궤환 간섭 신호와 기지국으로부터 전송된 신호의 시간동기 불일치에 의한 인접 심볼간 간섭 및 인접 부반송파 간섭이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 Synchronous 타입과 Asynchronous 타입의 OFDM 기반 FDR에서 시간 동기 불일치에 의한 영향을 하향링크와 상향링크에 대하여 분석한다. 주파수 영역 궤환 간섭 제거기를 갖는 FDR에서 간섭의 영향을 감소시킬 수 있는 동기화 절차와 기법을 제안하고, 모의실험을 통하여 그 성능을 확인한다.

  • High frequency voltage signal injection have been widely used but they have some problems like over current protection. High frequency current signal injection and feedback control are more stable than voltage signal injection. In this paper, high frequency current controller for self-sensing and parameter estimation of induction motors is presented.
