Co-Fe-Cr 합금도금층의 조성 및 우선방위에 미치는 전해조건의 영향 (The effect electrolysis conditiong on the composition and the preferred orientation of Co-Fe-Cr alloy electrodeposits)

  • The composition and the properred orientation of Co-Fe-Cr alloy electrodeposits were invesigated according to the electrolysis conditions using sulface bath. The current efficiency and the cathode overpotential decrased noticeably with the increase of Cr content in the bath. As the D.C. current density increased increased, the Cr content in the alloy increasd, while Co content decreased and Fe content remained constant, In the pulse current electrolysis, the Cr content of the alloy increased with the mean current density and off-time and then its content increased mord more noticeably with the peak current density than that of D.C. electrolysis. The preferred orientation of the alloy changed from (220)+(111) to (220) with decreasing cathode overpotential.

  • Fe-l7Cr-2M(M=Si, Nb, Mo)합금분말을 Electrode Rotating Atomizer로 제조한 후 성형하여 소결한 시편의 첨가원소, 성형 압력 및 소결온도 에 따른 교류자기특성의 변화를 체계적으로 조사하였다 제조된 Fe-l7Cr-2M(M=Si, Nb, Mo) 합금분말의 형상은 구형이며, 포화자화값은 Mo와 Nb을 첨가한 Fe-l7Cr-2Mo과 Fe-l7Cr-Nb의 경우 약 155 emu/g로 Si을 첨가한 경우보다 크다. 성형압력 12 ton/$cm^2$, 소결온도 1200 $^{\circ}C$에서 제조된 Fe-l7Cr-2M(M=Si, Nb, Mo)합금분말 소결체의 진폭비 투자율은 주파수, f=1 kHz에서 3~5 Oe의 인가자장 범위에서 가장 크다. 전력손실은 인가자장 H$_{a}$ =5 Oe, 주파수 f=1 kHz에서 Fe-l7Cr-2Nb 경우 40 mW/cc로 Si이나 Mo를 첨가한 경우 보다 약 1/2값을 나타낸다.

  • An optimum route to fabricate oxide dispersion strengthened ferritic superalloy with desired microstructure was investigated. Two methods of high energy ball milling or polymeric additive solution route for developing a uniform dispersion of $Y_2O_3$ particles in Fe-Cr-Al-Ti alloy powders were compared on the basis of the resulting microstructures. Microstructural observation revealed that the crystalline size of Fe decreased with increases in milling time, to values of about 15-20 nm, and that an FeCr alloy phase was formed. SEM and TEM analyses of the alloy powders fabricated by solution route using yttrium nitrate and polyvinyl alcohol showed that the nano-sized Y-oxide particles were well distributed in the Fe based alloy powders. The prepared powders were sintered at 1000 and $1100^{\circ}C$ for 30 min in vacuum. The sintered specimen with heat treatment before spark plasma sintering at $1100^{\circ}C$ showed a more homogeneous microstructure. In the case of sintering at $1100^{\circ}C$, the alloys exhibited densified microstructure and the formation of large reaction phases due to oxidation of Al.

  • Mechanical alloying behaviour was investigated after adding 6, 8, 12wt% Fe powder into A1 matrix, respectively, in order to develop Al alloy. And the mechanical characteristics of the alloy which was produced by the above method were studied. The hardness and ultimata tensile strength of the material with different compositions were found to be increased with annealing temperatures and holding times. Intermetallic compound of $Al_3Fe$ and carbide of $Al_4C_3$ phases, which were generated from the different compositions during annealing, were found. It was suggested that enhancement of mechanical properties of Al-Fe alloy system was due to the presence of these preapitates that constrained grain growth and blocked dislocation movement in the alloy system.

Magnetic and Ordering Behavior of Nb-doped FePt Alloy Films

  • The magnetic properties and ordering behavior of Nb-doped FePt alloy films prepared by dc-magnetron sputtering were investigated. It was found that Nb addition retarded the ordering reaction from the disordered face-centered-cubic (fcc) Al phase to the ordered face-centered-tetragonal (fct) L10 phase. The tetragonality (c/a ratio) of the ordered fct L10 phase increased with the Nb concentration. Nb addition hampered c-axis contraction during ordering, probably because the larger Nb atoms occupy Pt sites. Consequently, the coercivity and magnetocrystalline anisotropic energy of Nb-doped FePt alloy films are lower than those of un-doped FePt film under equivalent annealing conditions.

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of solution-treatment temperature on the microstructure and damping capacity of a martensitic Fe-7%Ni-0.4%C alloy. The size of lath increased from $0.3{\mu}m$ to $0.55{\mu}m$ with increasing the solution-treatment temperature from 700 to $1100^{\circ}C$. In addition, the size of block, packet, and austenite grain had tendency to increase with increasing solution-treatment temperature. The damping capacity of the Fe-7%Ni-0.4%C martensitic alloy decreased with increasing the solution treatment temperature. The reason is not attributed to the increase in the size of lath, block, packet, and austenite grain, but to the increase in vacancy concentration which hinders dislocation motion.

  • Mechanical alloying using high-energy ball mill and subsequent spark plasma sintering (SPS) process was applied to understand mechanical alloying processing of Al-Fe alloy system. The thermal stability of mechanically alloyed Al-Fe alloy was intended to be enhanced by SPS process. Various analytical techniques including particle size analysis, density measurement, micro-Vickers hardness test, SEM, TEM, and X-ray diffractometry were adopted to find optimum processing conditions for mechanical alloying and subsequent SPS and to estimate thermal stability of the prepared alloy. It was found from the treatment of mechanically alloyed Al-8wt.%Fe powder mixture that needle-shaped $Al_3Fe$ precipitates was formed in the Al-Fe matrix, and the alloy compact showed enhanced densification and reached its full density with little loss of its fine microstructure. After heat treatment at $500^{\circC}$, it was also shown that the thermal stability of Al-8wt.%Fe alloy fabricated in the present study was enhanced, which was due to its fine microstructure developed by fast densification of SPS.

  • $Fe_{78}B_{13}Si_{9}$ 비정질 합금의 결정화 거동과 취성 현상을 시차열량기 시험, x-선회절시험 및 투과 전자현미경 관찰을 통해서 조사 연구하였다. 결정화는 두단계의 발열반응으로 진행되었으며, 첫번째 단계에서는 비정질로부터 B.C.C. 구조인 $\alpha$-(Fe, Si)의 수지상이 생성되었고, 두번째 단계에서는 남아있던 비정질로부터 B.C.T 구조인 $Fe_2B$가 형성되었다. 에닐링 온도에 따른 시편의 파단과 변형율은 비정질 상태인 약 $340^{\circ}C$부터 급긱히 감소하였다.

  • 희토류원소 Pr의 첨가가 Fe-B계 비정질합금의 자왜에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위하여 비정질 $Fe_{86-x}B_{14}Pr_{x}(2{\leq}x{\leq}8\;at.%)$ 합금을 급속응고법을 이용하여 제조하였다. 급 속응고상태 비정질 $Fe_{86-x}B_{14}Pr_{x}$ 합금의 포화자왜는 Pr이 증가할 수록 증가하여 x=8에 서 약 50 ppm이 얻어졌다. 특히 $300^{\circ}C$에서 2시간 열처리된 비정질 $Fe_{84}B_{14}Pr_{2}$ 합금의 포화자왜는 70 ppm으로 증가하였다. $300^{\circ}C$에서 2시간 열처리된 비정질 $Fe_{84}B_{14}Pr_{2}$ 합금의 교류 자기이력손실 및 교류투자율$(f=50\;kHz,\;B_{m}=0.1\;T)$은 각각 15 W/kg, $5.5{\times}10^{3}$이었다.

  • The damping property of Fe-12Cr-22Mn-X alloys has been investigated to develop high damping and high strength alloy. Particularly, the effect of the phase of austenite, alpha and epsilon martensite, which constitute the structure of the alloys Fe-12Cr-22Mn-X alloys, on the damping capacity at room temperature has been investigated. Various fraction of these phases were formed depending on the alloy element and cold work degree. The damping capacity is strongly affected by ${\varepsilon}$ martensite while the other phase, such as ${\alpha}'$ martensite, actually exhibit little effect on damping capacity. In case of Fe-12Cr-22Mn-3Co alloy, the large volume fraction of ${\varepsilon}$ martensite formed at about 30% cold rolling, and in case of Fe-12Cr-22Mn-1Ti alloy, formed at about 20% cold rolling and showed the highest damping capacity. Damping capacity showed higher value in Fe-12Cr-22Mn-1Ti alloy than one in Fe-12Cr-22Mn-3Co alloy.
