  • Many methods have been proposed to detect faults of carrier phase measurements, but there are no distinguished methods for land transportation systems. in this paper, the baseline constraints are used to detect faults in GPS carrier phase measurements with vehicle dynamic information. The faults include the multipath on GPS carrier measurements. Multiple antenna groups are used for this research. In the measurement domain the fault detection has been accomplished so that the implementation is easier than other methods.

  • An important issue for software developers is to determine when to stop testing the software system and release it to users. Generally the release time is specified by the number of detected faults or the testing time needed to meet the reliability requirement. Software reliability directly depends on the number of remaining or corrected faults. All the detected faults are not always corrected under imperfect debugging environment. We therefore need a new approach to software release policy for imperfect debugging. This paper suggests a software release policy, which guarantees that the reliability requirement has been achieved. The suggested policy is then implemented and illustrated for specific SRGMs.

  • The roller bearings play an important role not only sustain radial or axial load of system, but carry out a rotatory movement as a various operating conditions. They happen that incipient faults which were caused by excessive load, manufacturing or assembling process's errors and many other reasons are created. The bearing faults make noise and vibration by a continuous collision of rotatory components, which can lower the quality and stability of auto-transmission. Therefore, it is important to detect the early fault as soon as possible. This paper presents a detecting method for the improvement in quality by developing the program which can be used to analyze and predict the vibrational characteristics caused by roller bearing faults. We completed development of the inspection system of vibration by applying the most efficient detecting methods and verified the system's reliability through experiments.

  • The Okdong Fault is situated in Okdong-Hamchang area, the central part of Korea. The area consists of Precambrian gneisses and granitoids, Paleozoic clastic and carbonate rocks, and Mesozoic clastic rocks and igneous intrusives. The Okdong Fault is situated along contact boundary between the lowermost Cambrian Basal Quartzite and Precambrian basements. Mylonites occur as narrow zone which is extended over 100km and is restricted to within 10m-30m along the Okdong Fault. The main features of mylonites are quartz mylonite derived from Cambrian Basal Quartzite and mylonitic granitoids from Precambrian granitoids. Movement sense is deduced as a sinistral strike-slip movement with evidence of rotation of sheared porphyroclasts, rotation of fragments and S/C-bands. The mylonite zone has been reactivated as fault which reveals oblique-slip movement. The fault resurges as faults which reveals normal(to the NW) and reverse(to the SE) dip-slip movement. Normal faults are dominant in the northern and southern part and reverse or thrust faults are dominant in the central part of the Okdong Fault. The thrust movement can be correlated with the Daebo Orogeny of Jurassic Period. Granites and dyke rocks intruded into Paleozoic and Precambrian rocks during Cretaceous Period.

  • This paper describes test-pattern generation and it;s sequence for fan out-free Combinational logic network with multiple faults. The method for detecting multiple faults, in systematic way, is established by using characteristic graphs. This method is applied even in the case of fan out-reconvergent combinational logic networks. In this case, the network is decomposed into a set of fan out-free sybnetworks so as to use the characteristic graphs, and minimal test patterns are generated seperately. The each test set is combined and the test pattern for fan out-reconvergent networks are derived. According to corresponding characteristic graph, additional test patterns to detect multiple faults are simply derived.

  • The power distribution system is 22.9 kV-y neutral point multi-ground one in our country. So, if conducting materials contacted, to the power line electrical equipment faults or stoppage of electrical power supply happened in the line. contacts are caused by magpie or its nest materials, especially, electrical power incidents by magpie from February to May, season layed egg, is high as 30% as. It is important to electrical power supplier to protect electrical power equipment caused by magpie. From now, KEPCO have tried to protect electrical power equipment faults caused by magpie using several methods, but have not acquired good results and continued to withdraw the nest. Recently, nature environment protection expand to around country and KEPCO also changed the nest withdrawal method to new pre-protection method coexisted with magpie, "Environmental Affinitive Pre-protection Counterplan". Therefore, we planned environmental affinitive pre-protection equipment, set test line. Also, after analyzed its effects during 1 year, we satisfied with results, and then expanded to other test lines and regions.

  • the multi computers operated in harsh environments should be designed to guarantee normal operations in the presence of the component faults. One solution for this is a fault-tolerant routing. In the paper, we consider n-dimensional meshed network for the basic topology and propose a simple fault-tolerant routing algorithm that can transfer messages to their destination as desired in the presence of some component faults. the built algorithms basically adopts a WormHole(WH) routing method and uses the virtual channels sharing a physical channel for deadlock-freedom. Consequently, we show that the suggested algorithm has a higher performance than the X-Y routing algorithm through simulation results.

  • The unexpected failure may cause a break in power system and loss of profits. Therefore it Is important to prevent abrupt faults by monitoring the condition of power systems. In this paper, we develop intelligent diagnosis technique for predicting faults of power transformer which plays an important role in the transmission and distribution systems among the various power facilities by using FCM and SOM. More specifically, FCM is used to select the efficient training data and reducing learning process time and SOM is used to diagnosis the power transformer. The proposed technique makes it possible to measures the possibility of aging as well as the faults occurred in transformer To demonstrate the validity of proposed method, various experiments are performed and their results are presented.

  • In this paper, we propose a new checkpointing strategy for dual modular redundancy real-time systems. For every checkpoints the execution results from two processors, and the result saved in the previous checkpoint are compared to detect faults. We devised an operation algorithm in chectpoints to recover from transient faults as well as permanent faults. We also develop a Markov model for the optimization of the proposed checkpointing strategy. The probability of successful task execution within its deadline is derived from the Markov model. The optimal number of checkpoints is the checkpoints which makes the successful probability maximum.

  • This paper propose a transformer protective relaying algorithm based on the increment of flux linkages (RIFL) of the Primary and secondary windings. The RIFL is equal to the turn ratio for all operating conditions except an internal faults. For a single-phase transformer and three-phase Y-Y transformer, the increments of flux linkages are calculated and their ratios are compared with the turn ratio. For a three-phase Y-$\triangle$ transformer, the difference of the increments of flux linkages are calculated to use the line currents instead of the delta winding currents, which are practically unavailable. Their ratios are compared with the turn ratio. The results of various tests show that the algorithm successfully discriminates internal faults from normal operation conditions such as magnetic inrush and overexcitation. The algorithm can not only detect internal winding faults, but reduce the relay's operating time.
