The snake algorithm is widely adopted to track objects by extracting the active contour of the object from background. However, it fails to track the target converging to the background if there exists background whose gradient is greater than that of the pixels on the contour. Also, the contour may shrink when the target moves fast and the snake algorithm misses the boundary of the object in its searching window. To alleviate these problems, we propose an improved algorithm that can track object contour more robustly. Firstly, we propose two external energy functions, the edge energy and the contrast energy. One is designed to give more weight to the gradient on the boundary and the other to reflect the contrast difference between the object and background. Secondly, by computing the motion vector of the contour from the difference of the two consecutive frames, we can move the snake pointers of the previous frame near the region where the object boundary is probable at the current frame. Computer experiments show that the proposed method is more robust to the complicated background than the previously known methods and can track the object with fast movement.

In this paper, a fast matching method using hierarchical neighborhood search and subtemplate to reduce very heavy computational load of the conventional matching method, is presented. Some parameters of the proposed method are chosen so that an automatic target tracker to which it is applied can track one moving object well in comparatively simple background. Experimental results show that its performance is not so degraded in spite of high computational reduction over that of the matching method using 3-step search.

This paper utilizes free oscillation and energy injection principles to generate and control the high frequency current in the primary track of a contactless power transfer system. Here the primary power inverter maintains natural resonance while ensuring near constant current magnitude in the primary track as required for multiple independent loads. Such energy injection controllers exhibit low switching frequency and achieve ZCS (Zero Current Switching) by detecting the high frequency current, thus the switching stress, power losses and EMI of the inverter are low. An example full bridge topology is investigated for a contactless power transfer system with multiple pickups. Theoretical analysis, simulation and experimental results show that the proposed system has a fast and smooth start-up transient response. The output track current is fully controllable with a sufficiently good waveform for contactless power transfer applications.

We describe a new approach to implement of trajectory control and track record of articulated manipulator based on monitoring simulator for smart factory. The learning control algorithm was applied in implementation real-time control to provide enhanced motion control performance for robotic manipulators. The proposed control scheme is simple in structure, fast in computation, and suitable for real-time control. Moreover, this scheme does not require any accurate dynamic modeling, or values of manipulator parameters and payload. Performance of the proposed controller is illustrated by simulation and experimental results for robot manipulator consisting of six joints at the joint space and Cartesian space.by monitoring simulator.
The Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB e+e- collider in Japan is designed for precise measurements of weak interaction parameters and new physics beyond the Standard Model; therefore, it requires very high instantaneous luminosity. To handle such high luminosity, the level-1 trigger system in the Belle II experiment is designed to efficiently trigger events of interest with the highest efficiency. Among many sub-detectors, track reconstruction of charged particles is performed using information collected from the central drift chamber. Therefore, the central drift chamber-based trigger plays a central role in distinguishing specific types of physics based on fast track reconstruction. To improve the longitudinal position resolution of a track vertex and for the fine-tuning of trigger signal timing, the time of the collision, which we call event time, is necessary. We developed an event time finding algorithm using the wire hit time information obtained from the central drift chamber and validated our algorithm through Monte Carlo simulation.
In this paper, we propose a landmark-detection system of object for more accurate object recognition. The landmark-detection system of object becomes divided into a learning stage and a detection stage. A learning stage is created an interest-region model to set up a search region of each landmark as pre-information necessary for a detection stage and is created a detector by each landmark to detect a landmark in a search region. A detection stage sets up a search region of each landmark in an input image with an interest-region model created in the learning stage. The proposed system uses Fast Fourier Transform to detect landmark, because the landmark-detection is fast. In addition, the system fails to track objects less likely. After we developed the proposed method was applied to environment video. As a result, the system that you want to track objects moving at an irregular rate, even if it was found that stable tracking. The experimental results show that the proposed approach can achieve superior performance using various data sets to previously methods.
A finite element approach is presented to examine ground vibration characteristics under various moving loads in a homogeneous half-space. Four loading modes including single load, double load, four-load, and twenty-load were simulated in a finite element analysis to observe their influence on ground vibrations. Four load moving speeds of 60, 80, 100, and 120 m/s were adopted to investigate the influence of train speed to the ground vibrations. The results demonstrated that the loading mode in a finite element analysis is reliable for train-induced vibration simulations. Additionally, a three-dimensional finite element model (3D FEM) was developed to investigate the dynamic responses of a track-ballast-embankment-ground system subjected to moving loads induced by high-speed trains. Results showed that vibration attenuations and breaks exist in the simulated wave fronts transiting through different medium materials. These tendencies are a result of the difference in the Rayleigh wave speeds of the medium materials relative to the speed of the moving train. The vibration waves induced by train loading were greatly influenced by the weakening effect of sloping surfaces on the ballast and embankment. Moreover, these tendencies were significant when the vibration waves are at medium and high frequency levels. The vibration waves reflected by the sloping surface were trapped and dissipated within the track-ballast-embankment-ground system. Thus, the vibration amplitude outside the embankment was significantly reduced.

This research presents an analysis of algorithm for ship track-keeping along a given trajectory. The maneuver of a free running model ship guiding through a simple path are presented. In order to solve the above problem, a desired trajectory is usually determined by GPS points in a pre-fixed place then these points are set in a pre-programmed navigation so that the ship would be automatically tracked. Proportional-Derivative(PD) control which is useful for fast response controllers was used in this program as a course keeping system. A high accuracy GPS receiver was installed on the model ship that could provide positions frequently, the system will compare and give out the remaining distance and heading to the target way-point. The results of ship auto track-keeping experiment will be explained in order to illustrate the adjustment in controlling parameters. These results can be utilized as a preliminary step to carry out the experiment of ship collision avoidance system and automatic berthing in the future.

The recently enacted detailed guidelines on the performance evaluation of track facilities presented the necessary requirements regarding the evaluation procedures and implementation methods of track performance evaluation. However, the grade of rail surface damage is determined by external inspection (visual inspection), and there is no choice but to rely only on qualitative evaluation based on the subjective judgment of the inspector. Therefore, in this study, we attempted to develop a diagnostic application that can diagnose rail internal defects using rail surface damage. In the field investigation, rail surface damage was investigated and patterns were analyzed. Additionally, in the indoor test, SEM testing was used to construct image data of rail internal damage, and crack length, depth, and angle were quantified. In this study, a deep learning model (Fast R-CNN) using image data constructed from field surveys and indoor tests was applied to the application. A rail surface damage diagnosis application (App) using a deep learning model that can be used on smart devices was developed. We developed a smart diagnosis system for rail surface damage that can be used in future track diagnosis and performance evaluation work.
