Permanent magnet sodium flowmeter (PMSF) have been used to measure the sodium flow in fast breeder reactors. Due to the effects of irradiation, thermal cycling, time lapse, etc., the magnetic flux density of the PMSF will decrease after being used in the reactor for a period of time. Therefore, it must be calibrated regularly. But some flowmeters that immersed in sodium cannot be removed for an off-line calibration, so the on-line calibration is required. However, the best online calibration accuracy of PMSF using cross-correlation analysis method was 2.0-level without considering the repeatability. In order to further improve this work, the operational principle of the transducer in PMSF is analyzed and the design principle of the transducer is proposed. The transducers were tested on the sodium flow loop to collect the experimental data. The signal characteristics are analyzed from the time and frequency domains, respectively. The cross-correlation analysis method based on biased estimation is adopted to obtain the flow rate. The verification experimental results showed that the measurement accuracy is 1.0-level when the flow velocity is above 0.5 m/s, and the measurement accuracy is 3.0-level when the flow velocity is in the range of 0.2 m/s to 0.5 m/s.
This study reports a portable and precision photonic biosensor reader that can measure the concentration of a particular antigen using an optical resonant reflection biosensor (ORRB). To create a compact biosensor reader, a compact tunable vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) and a compact built-in wavelength meter were manufactured. The wavelength stability and accuracy of the compact built-in wavelength meter were measured to be less than 0.02 nm and 0.06 nm, respectively. The tunable VCSEL emission wavelength was measured with the compact built-in wavelength meter, it has a fast sweep time (~ 10 seconds) and a wide tuning range (> 4 nm) that are sufficient for biosensor applications based on ORRB. The reflection spectrum of a plastic based ORRB chip was measured by the fabricated portable photonic biosensor reader using the VCSEL and wavelength meter. Although the reader is the size of a palmtop device, it could make a precise measurement of the peak wavelength on equal terms with a conventional bulky optical spectrometer.
Deep Ecliptic Patrol of the Southern Sky (DEEP-South) observation is being made during the off-season for exoplanet survey, using Korea Microlensing Telescope Network (KMTNet). An optimal combination of its prime focus optics and the 0.3 billion pixel CCD provides a four square degrees field of view with 0.4 arcsec/pixel plate scale which is also best suited for small body studies. Normal operation of KMTNet started in October 2015, and a significant portion of the allocated telescope time for DEEP-South is dedicated to targeted observation, Opposition Census (OC), of near-Earth asteroids for physical and taxonomic characterization. This is effectively achieved through multiband, time series photometry using Johnson-Cousins BVRI filters. Uninterrupted monitoring of the southern sky with KMTNet is optimized for spin characterization of a broad spectrum of asteroids ranging from the near-Earth space to the main-belt, including binaries, asteroids with satellites, slow/fast- and non-principal axis-rotators, and thus is expected to facilitate the debiasing of previously reported lightcurve observations. Our software subsystem consists of an automated observation scheduler, a pipelined data processing system for differential photometry, and an easy-to-use lightcurve analysis toolkit. Lightcurves, spin periods and provisional determination of class of asteroids to which the lightcurve belongs will be presented, using the dataset from first year operation of KMTNet. Our new taxonomic classification scheme for asteroids will also be summarized.

This research measures EEG signals which are generating on head skin and extracts brain concentration level related with brain activity. We develop concentration wireless transmission system for controlling hardware by using this signal. Two channels are used for measuring EEG signal on front head and Biopac system with MP100 and EEG100C was used for measuring EEG signal, amplifying and filtering the signal. LabView 8.5 was also used for FFT transformation, frequency and spectrum analysis of the measured EEG signals. As a result, SMR wave, Mid-Bata wave, $\Theta$ wave classified. We extracted the concentration index by adapting concentration extraction algorithm. This concentration uldex was transferred into logo automobile device by wireless module and applied for BCI application.

Planar images of OH and $O_{2}$ with tunable KrF excimer laser which has a) 0.5 $cm^{-1}$ / linewidth, b) 0.5 nm tuning range, c) 150 mJ pulse energy, and d) 20 ns pulse width are obtained to determine spatial distributions of OH and $O_{2}$ in premixed $C_{3}$H$_{8}$ /O$_{2}$ flame. The technique is based on planar laser induced pre-dissociative fluorescence(PLIPF) in which collisional quenching is almost avoided because of the fast pre-dissociation. Dispersed LIPF spectra of OH and $O_{2}$ are also measured in a flame in order to confirm the excitation of single vibronic state of OH and $O_{2}$, OH and $O_{2}$ are excited on the P$_{2}$(8) line of the $A^{2}$.SIGMA.$^{+}$(v'= 3)-X$^{2}$.PI.(v'||'||'&'||'||'quot;= 0) band and R(17) line of the Schumann-Runge band B$^{3}$.SIGMA.$_{u}$$^{[-10]}$ (v'= 0)- X$^{3}$.SIGMA.$_{g}$$^{[-10]}$ (v'||'||'&'||'||'quot;= 6), respectively. Dispersed OH and $O_{2}$ spectra show an excellent agreement with simulated spectrum and previous works done by other group respectively. It is confirmed that OH widely distributed around flame front area than $O_{2}$.

This paper proposes a new method of improving the quality of High Efficiency Advanced Audio Coding (HE-AAC). HE-AAC encodes input source by allocating bits for each scalefactor bands appropriately according to human ear's psychoacoustic property. As a result, insufficient bits are assigned to the bands which have relatively low energy. This imbalance between different energy bands can cause decreasing of sound quality like musical noise. In the proposed system, a Linear Prediction (LP) module is combined with HE-AAC as a pre-processor to improve sound quality by even bits distribution. To apply accurate human being's psychoacoustic property, the psychoacoustic model uses Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) spectrum of original input signal to make masking threshold. In its implementation, masking threshold of psychoacoustic model is normalized using the LP spectral envelope in prior to quantization of the LP residual. Experimental result shows that, the proposed algorithm allocates bits appropriately for insufficient bits condition and improves the performance of HE-AAC.

A digital retrodirective antenna system is easy to modify and upgrade because it can control the phase information of the output signal toward opposite direction to input signal without a priori knowledge of the arrival direction. Due to this advantage, it is possible to perform fast beam tracking. In this paper, a design digital retrosirective array antenna system according to the number of antenna array by using only one digital PLL which finds angle of delayed phase and we test BER performance of this system. When we transmit data at actual communication system, the data modulated onto carrier frequency in order to shift spectrum from base band to another band. So we simulate system considering carrier frequency according to the number of antenna array. As a result, carrier frequency has no impact on the performance.

To verify the possibility of generating rattling noise from a motor on caliper brake system, a test was conducted using a caliper excited with vibrations similar to that in a vehicle running on actual roads; this test was conducted using a quiet shaker installed in an anechoic room. After several hours of external excitation, the test assembly was loosened, and the frequency of rattling noise generation increased. A microphone was used to record the generated noise. The measured signals were analyzed by conventional spectrum analysis. Since the noise is generated as an impact response, the advantages of employing Prony analysis was discussed, and the results were compared to those obtained using conventional fast Fourier transforms. The accuracy of Prony analysis was through endurance tests on different brake systems.
Biochip sensing technologies offering in-situ, fast and real-time measurements in addition to portability can be powerfully utilized in a wide spectrum of research areas including environmental science, food science, medical diagnostics and drug development. In this article, we introduce current research trends and economic aspects of the development of various optical biochip technologies for the analysis of organophosphorus/carbamate pesticides in environmental samples, which is of global importance with serious consequences for both current and future generations. In particular, we will highlight recent efforts made in the creation of highly sensitive and selective optical biochip sensors in conjunction with nanobiotechnologies and microfabrication for the rapid detection of organophosphorus/carbamate pesticides.

In recent days, some techniques to prevent from radar detection have been applied on aircraft system. RWR(Radar Warning Receiver) can be used for estimating the source location of the aircraft which emits radar pulse. Current existing method of localizing radar pulse emission source is using AOA(Angle Of Arrival) and most techniques are focused on finding exact AOA to find exact location. In this case, however, the exact AOA does not always result in finding exact source location while target aircraft is moving fast. In this paper, a localization method using the phase delay of the radar pulse's low frequency applies and so a scanning method for the interest area does in order to estimate exact source location by using phase delay.
