A Study on Home-Shopping Model in Mongolia

  • According to the degree how the information communication, technology and various basic given conditions are working, most of all enterprises in 21 century are running utilizing information technology. Mongolia is also driving forward for the 2010 year goal and the information technological environment is fast developing in Mongolia. By the tendency of fast moving development of information and technological change will make a road to be possible implementing the Home-Shopping in Mongolia. To meet the changeable tendency and countermeasures of Mongolian environment, e-Business policies are necessary. In this paper I like to point out why the Mongolian enterprises should have keen interest on e-Business and on the ground of the necessity on it. I like to suggest some models for Mongolia.

  • For the analysis of transient two-phase flows in nuclear reactor components, a three-dimensional thermal hydraulics code, named CUPID, has been developed. The CUPID code adopts a two-fluid, three-field model for two-phase flows, and the governing equations were solved over unstructured grids, which are very useful for the analysis of flows in complicated geometries. To obtain numerical solutions, the semi-implicit numerical method for the REALP5 code was modified for an application to unstructured grids, and it has been further improved for enhanced accuracy and fast running. For the verification of the CUPID code, a set of conceptual problems and experiments were simulated. This paper presents the flow model, the numerical solution method, and the results of the preliminary assessment.

Capsule Train Dynamic Model Development and Driving Characteristic Analysis Considering the Superconductor Electrodynamic Suspension (초전도 유도 반발식 부상특성을 고려한 캡슐트레인 동특성 해석 모델 구축 및 주행 특성 분석)

  • A magnetically levitating capsule train, which runs inside the sub-vacuum tube, can reach ultra-fast speeds by dramatically reducing the aerodynamic drag and friction. The capsule train uses the superconductor electrodynamic suspension (SC-EDS) method for levitation. The SC-EDS method has advantages, such as a large levitation gap and free of gap control, which could reduce the infra-construction cost. On the other hand, disadvantages, such as the large variation of the levitation-guidance gap and small damping characteristics in levitation-guidance force, could degrade the running stability and ride comfort of the capsule train. In this study, a dynamic analytical model of a capsule train based on the SC-EDS was developed to analyze the running dynamic characteristics. First, as important factors in the capsule train dynamics, the levitation and guidance stiffness in the SC-EDS system were derived, which depend non-linearly on the velocity and gap variation. A 3D dynamic analysis model for capsule trains was developed based on the derived stiffness. Through the developed model, the effects of the different running speeds on the ride comfort were analyzed. The effects of a disturbance from infrastructure, such as the curve radius, tube sag, and connection joint difference, on the running stability of the capsule train, were also analyzed.

  • This paper presents the formulation of a new bridge-vehicle system with validation using the field data. Both pitching and twisting modes of the vehicle are considered in the contribution of the dynamic effects in the bridge responses. A heavy vehicle was hired as a control vehicle with known axle weight, axle spacing and spring coefficients. The measured responses were generated from the control vehicle running at a particular speed at a test span at Ma Tau Wai Flyover. The measured responses were acquired using strain gauges installed beneath the girder beams of the test bridge. The simulated responses were generated using BRVEAN that is a self-developed program based on the proposed bridge-vehicle system. The validation shows that the bridge model is valid for representing the test bridge and the governing equations are valid for representing the motion of moving vehicles.

  • A fast running model comprising the climate change effects is proposed for urban heat environment simulations so as to be used in urban heat island studies and/or the urban planning practices. By combining Hot City Model, a high resolution urban temperature prediction model utilizing the Lagrangian particle tracing technique, and the numerical weather simulation data which are constructed up to year of 2100 under the climate change scenarios, an efficient model is constructed for simulating the future urban heat environments. It is applicable to whole city as well as to a small block area of an urban region, with the computation time being relatively short, requiring the practically manageable amount of the computational resources. The heat environments of the entire metropolitan Seoul area in South Korea are investigated with the aid of the model for the present time and for the future. The results showed that the urban temperature gradually increase up to a significant level in the future. The possible effects of green roofs on the buildings are also studied, and we observe that green roofs don't lower the urban temperature efficiently while making the temperature fields become more homogeneous.

Availability Analysis of Multiplex Systems using Software Rejuvenation Method (소프트웨어 재활 기법을 적용한 다중계 시스템의 가용도 분석)

  • The software rejuvenation method for highly available multiplex systems uses a pro-active fault-tolerant approach to handle system failures. The software rejuvenation prevents failures from occurring, while the previous methods recover from failures after happening. Especially, since the software aging proceeds fast in the software used for the multimedia mobile computing due to the loss of communications or data, the preventive method from failures using software rejuvenation can be used for the multimedia mobile computing. In this paper, according to the operational parameters such as rejuvenation period, rejuvenation time, failure rate and repair rate of the servers, number of running servers, duration of running time, and type of running modes, we calculate steady-state probabilities, downtime, availability, and cost of the multiplex systems using software rejuvenation method. We validate the closed-form solutions of the mathematical model by experiments based on various operational parameters and find that the software rejuvenation method can be adopted as preventive fault-tolerant technique. The failure rate and unstable rate of the servers are essential factors for the decision making of the rejuvenation policies.

PREDICTION OF FREE SURFACE FLOW ON CONTAINMENT FLOOR USING A SHALLOW WATER EQUATION SOLVER

  • A calculation model is developed to predict the transient free surface flow on the containment floor following a loss-of-coolant accident (LOCA) of pressurized water reactors (PWR) for the use of debris transport evaluation. The model solves the two-dimensional Shallow Water Equation (SWE) using a finite volume method (FVM) with unstructured triangular meshes. The numerical scheme is based on a fully explicit predictor-corrector method to achieve a fast-running capability and numerical accuracy. The Harten-Lax-van Leer (HLL) scheme is used to reserve a shock-capturing capability in determining the convective flux term at the cell interface where the dry-to-wet changing proceeds. An experiment simulating a sudden break of a water reservoir with L-shape open channel is calculated for validation of the present model. It is shown that the present model agrees well with the experiment data, thus it can be justified for the free surface flow with accuracy. From the calculation of flow field over the simplified containment floor of APR1400, the important phenomena of free surface flow including propagations and interactions of waves generated by local water level distribution and reflection with a solid wall are found and the transient flow rates entering the Holdup Volume Tank (HVT) are obtained within a practical computational resource.

Real-time collision-free path planning for robot manipulator

  • This paper presents a real-time calculation method to generate the trajectory of robot manipulator for the purpose of avoiding collision. In order to model 3-D workspace, we use octree which has been used for fast collision detection. The levels of octree are used as the cost function to represent the distance between the manipulator and the obstacles. This criterion is not exact, but, due to this, we can obtain the approximate feasible trajectory extremely quickly. We will show the effectiveness of our method with some simulation examples. For example, the proposed method can solve a problem within 1 second on Intel 80486 processor running at 33 MHz. It has taken more than half an hour with one of the previously proposed methods.

A One-Pass Standard Cell Placement Algorithm Using Multi-Stage Graph Model (다단 그래프 모델을 이용한 빠른 표준셀 배치 알고리즘)

  • We present a fast, constructive algorithm for the automatic placement of standard cells, which consists of two steps. The first step is responsible for cell-row assignment of each cell, and converts the circuit connectivity into a multi-stage graph under to constraint that sum of the cell-widths in each stage of the multi-state graph does not exceed maximum cell-row width. Generatin of feed-through cells in the final layout was shown to be drastically reduced by this step. In the second step, the position of each cell within the row is determined one by one from left to right so that the cost function such as the local channel density is minimized. Our experimental result shows that this algorithm yields near optimal results in terms of the number of feed-through cells and the horizontal tracks, while running about 100 times faster than other iterative procedures such as pairwise interchange and generalized force directed relaxation method.

  • This study presents a new algorithm to detect the facial feature in a color image entered from the mobile device with complex backgrounds and undefined distance between camera's location and the face. Since skin color model with Hough transformation spent approximately 90$\%$ of running time to extract the fitting ellipse for detection of the facial feature, we have changed the approach to the simple geometric vector operation, called a TS(Triangle-Square) transformation. As the experimental results, this gives benefit of reduced run time. We have similar ratio of face detection to other methods with fast speed enough to be used on real-time identification system in mobile environments.
