The Main objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between shopping orientations and Knit wear Buying Behavior of female college students in the U.S. age 18 to 33. The questionnaires for this survey were developed to measure knitwear purchasing behavior, including sources of information about knitwear, evaluative criteria of knit wear product, attributes f store preference for knitwear, and shopping orientation. The questionnaire was administered to 119 female college students in the University of California. The data was analyzed by percentage, frequency, mean, factor analysis, Cluster Analysis and ANOVA, Duncan Multiple Range test. The female college students were classified into five subdivisions by cluster analysis; cautious shopping group, recreational shopping group, self-confident shopping group, shopping indifferent group, price conscious shopping group. In the case of fashion information sources of knit wear, significant differences were found according to shopping orientation subdivision in observation of others' and famous people's clothing, fashion shows, fashion articles in magazines, newspapers, and on the Internet, and shop displays. The evaluation criteria of knit wear product were significantly different depending on shopping orientation subdivision in fashionable, brand and store name, appropriate for different occasion, prestige. The store attributes of knitwear were significantly different depending on shopping orientation subdivision in product knowledge of sales personnel, store atmosphere, display of merchandise, layaway payment plan, price level, ease of parking and access, and new fashion.
The purpose of this study were to examine fashion information acceptance and fashion information sources and to analyze the difference according to clothing shopping orientation among digital generation male consumers. The subject were 349 male who were belonging to digital generation as the digital era's new consumers familial with internet and various kinds of digital media. A self-administrated questionnaire was developed based on the results of previous researches. The data were analyzed by using frequency analysis, factor analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA, Duncan test, $\chi^2$ test, multiple regression analysis by SPSS WIN 12.0 package. The results of this study are as follows: First, clothing shopping orientation of digital generation males were classified into 6 factors: fashion oriented, impulse buying, aesthetic pursuit, individuality pursuit, practical type and reasonable economy. Based on the factor scores, 3 clusters were identified; independent, unconcern, high involvement. Second, the high involvement shopping group utilized various information sources. On the other hand, the unconcerned shopping group was passive in utilizing information sources. Third, the fashion information acceptance of digital generation was classified into 5 factors: searching, leading, following, non-accepting, and delaying acceptance. All fashion information acceptance factors were affected by the information and communication media. Finally, The high involved type of shopping group accepted fashion information at its most and actively.
Advertising is the most powerful marketing communication tool. Fashion magazines are a popular media for fashion advertising because of their multi-color visual printing. In this study, the interest in and attitude toward fashion advertising were investigated with high school girls in Seoul, along with their interrelation with buying experience and post-purchase satisfaction. The consciousness of the endorser and the fashion of celebrities both increased with rising interest in fashion advertisement. However, the brand orientation showed no relationship with the interest in fashion advertisement. The interest in fashion advertisement was useful to explain buying experience with limited variance. The correlation between brand orientation and buying experience increased with rising interest in fashion advertisement, indicating that those with little interest in fashion advertisement showed strong dependence on brand loyalty. Those with more interest in fashion advertisement counted distinctive aspects of fashion advertisement more seriously. Affective aspects of fashion advertisement showed a correlation with buying experience and post-purchase satisfaction.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the fashion product purchase decision making in the development stages of ubiquitous environment. The quantitative Investigation was executed for 487 collegians and the data were analyzed with Frequency, percentage, ANOVA, Duncan test and multiple regression by using SPSS win version 10 package. The results of this research were as followed: First, in the 1st stages of ubiquitous developmental environment, using internet pc or mobile phone was analyze the difference between fashion shopping orientation group and purchase restricted factor Second, as a result of the factor analysis of the ubiquitous 2nd stages, four lower dimensions were made: giving information; wearable effect, buying facility; interest from purchase. as a result of ANOVA, there were any differences between fashion shopping orientation group and ubiquitous 2nd stages. Third, in the 3rd stages of ubiquitous developmental environment, there are differences between fashion shopping orientation group and ubiquitous 3rd stages. And the result from regression analysis of the ubiquitous 2nd stages and 3rd stages showed that buying facility factor in increasing need recognition, wearable effect factor in fashion information acquisition, giving information factor in have a intention to buy in ubiquitous #3 rendition are most influential.
The purposes of this study were to identify shoplifting items and assess consumers' attitudes toward shoplifting, and to determine the variables to effect shoplifting. Three hundred ninety-eight respondents of high school students were used for data analysis. Descriptive statistics, t-test, and multiple regression analysis were used. Results indicated 17.8% of the respondents experienced fashion item shoplifting in the last 3 years. Shoplifting fashion items were categorized accessory, apparel, and cosmetic, and so on. Generally fashion item shoplifters demonstrated generous attitudes toward shoplifting than non-shoplifters. There were statistically significant differences between shoplifters and non-shoplifters in that shoplifters showed more hedonic shopping orientation and higher compulsive buying than non-shoplifters did. Also, fashion item shoplifters were more likely to have high depression and binge eating behavior. Shoplifting attitudes were correlated with lower self-esteem and higher depression, hedonic shopping orientation, compulsive buying, and binge eating. Results of multiple regression revealed that hedonic shopping orientation and compulsive buying was significantly related to shoplifting attitudes. Based on these results, fashion marketing strategies to protect shoplifting would be suggested.
This study aims to examine impacts of the Internet shopping orientation of Korean and Chinese consumers on their selection criteria of shopping malls and apparel products, frequencies and amounts of purchase, and information search in the Internet shopping mall. A survey was carried out with Korean and Chinese female consumers in their 20s and 30s who have the Internet shopping experiences. The results of this study were as follows: First, the Internet shopping orientation of Korean and Chinese respondents clearly showed factorial structures including the pleasure-conscious, fashion-conscious, price-conscious, and convenience-conscious orientation. From a result of the cluster analysis on four factors of the Internet shopping orientation, Korean and Chinese respondents were classified into three groups of the Internet shopping-unconscious, the Internet shopping-loyalty, and pleasure convenience-conscious. Second, there were significant differences in selection criteria of both the Internet shopping mall and apparel products among three groups of the Internet shopping orientation in Korea and China. Third, significant differences were identified in visiting frequencies, apparel purchase frequencies and amounts, payment methods, and information sources during the Internet shopping among three groups of the Internet shopping orientation in Korea and China.
The aim of the present study is to investigate the complex shopping behavior of clothing consumer groups classified by the level of economic shopping orientation. Using a self-administered questionnaire, 260 respondents rated their economic shopping orientation, hedonic shopping orientation, convenient shopping orientation, store selection criteria, clothing interest, gender, age, and other demographic characteristics. A total of 248 questionnaires were analyzed. The results are as follows. First, economic consumers showed more hedonic and convenient shopping orientation than uneconomic consumers. In addition, economic consumers valued various store selection criteria. These implied that economic consumers show more complex clothing shopping behavior than uneconomic consumers. Second, as the result of comparing complex shopping behavior of economic consumers and uneconomic consumers by their characteristics such as clothing interest, gender, and age, economic consumers were found to show more complex shopping behavior than uneconomic consumers regardless of the consumer characteristics. Among them, economic consumers with higher clothing interest or in adult age particularly showed more complex shopping behavior. Furthermore, economic consumers with different consumer characteristics showed quite different aspects in their complex shopping behavior. Third, uneconomic consumers showed relatively simple, impulsive, and price-apathetic shopping behavior.
The purposes of this study were to identify dimensions of shopping orientation and preferences of fashion trade areas, to test differences in the preference factors and usage levels of fashion trade areas as determined by shopping orientation and demographic characteristics. Questionnaires were administered to 406 adults in their twenties and thirties visited major fashion trade area in Seoul. The results of the study were as follows. First, five groups were identified based on shopping orientation: combined value-oriented group, convenience-oriented group, hedonic value trend-oriented group, economic-value oriented group and brand-oriented group. Second, the most frequently visited trade area was Myungdong, and there were significant differences in the usage levels of the trade areas except Dongdaemun, Samsung station COEX, Jamsil and Gangnam Express Bus Terminal among the groups determined by shopping orientation. Sinsa Garosoogil, Apgujeong Chungdam and Samsung Station COEX were preferred by hedonic value trend-oriented group. Daehakro and Myungdong were preferred by combined value-oriented group and convenience-oriented group. Third, significant differences were also found in all groups in the preference factors of the trade area as determined by shopping orientation groups when purchasing clothing. Forth, female preferred Gangnam Express Bus Station and Jamsil than male did. Those who in their early twenties preferred Daehakro and Myungdong the most and those who in early thirties and late twenties concerned service policy the most. The results imply that the consumers tend to visit the nearest fashion trade area by their residence(or work, school) and consider the location and accessibility of the trade area as the most important factor.
The primary purpose of this study was to investigate the relation between narcissistic and cosmetics shopping orientation of female consumers. The data were collected in Busan, Daegu and Ulsan, and 301 data were used for analysis. The aforementioned were analyzed utilizing frequency, factor and multiple regression analysis using SPSS Win 12.0. The results showed as follows. First, the factors related to narcissistic orientation were entitlement, leadership/superiority, self-reliance, self-intoxication, achievable desire and self-absorption. Second, the factors related to cosmetics shopping orientation were impulsive, economic, self-confidence, exploratory, brand/store loyal, shopping convenience, traffic convenience, prudence, pleasure, famous brand inclination and independent. Third, narcissistic orientation and cosmetics shopping orientation were significantly differences impulsive, economic, self-confidence, exploratory, shopping convenience, pleasure and famous brand inclination orientation.
This study analyzed the effects of CEO's authentic leadership on job satisfaction and organizational performance in a fashion company, and the differences in the CEO's authentic leadership, job satisfaction and organizational performance by the size of the companies. The study analyzed responses collected from questionnaires filled out by 440 employees of fashion companies. The results of this study were as follows; First, the transparency, future orientation, self-awareness, balanced process, and ethicality of CEO's authentic leadership positively influenced the wages or system satisfaction. The CEO's transparency, future orientation, self-awareness, and ethicality positively influenced job satisfaction. Also, the CEO's transparency, future orientation, self-awareness positively influenced the working condition or environmental satisfaction. Second, the wages or system satisfaction and working condition or environmental satisfaction of employees positively influenced the management performance of fashion companies. And the wages or system satisfaction, job satisfaction and working condition or environmental satisfaction of employees positively influenced the new product performance and job performance. Third, the CEO's authentic leadership of fashion companies positively influenced the management performance, and the CEO's transparency and future orientation positively influenced the new product performance. In addition, the CEO's self-awareness, balanced process and ethicality influenced the job performance. Fourth, there were significant differences in the CEO's authentic leadership, job satisfaction, management performance and new product performance by fashion companies' size. The results of this study will be useful in successful business strategy and improving the performance of fashion companies.
