The subjects were 980 married farming women living in rural area. Data were analyzed by frequencies, percentages, mean, standard deviation, factor analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan-test, and multiple regression. The major findings were as follows : 1) Rural women experienced five categorized problems(farming work & health problem, institution & facilities problem, personality differences & communication problem with husband, child & in-law relatives problem, and husbands violence & sexual problem. 2) The significant variables that influenced on experienced problems were conflict coping behaviors, husbands housework participation, farming work time, age, the level of health, and income etc. Additionally socio-demographic factors, their vocational consciousness, housework sharing, and couples difference of sex-role attitude as related variables of the level of experienced problem of farming women were exmained and discussed the implication.

  • The aim of this study was to introduce the history and development of German organic farming(Bio-dynamic Agriculture and organic agriculture) which has a worldwide reputation and initiative in organic agriculture. And also the organization of organic producer's or farmer's group such as AGOL, POB, OSL, ALOG & Schweisfurth Stiftung and its regional distribution, the basic standard of organic farming and certification system for organic food, an actual cultivated area for organic forming and organic livestock were also shortly reported. The government subsidizing programmes and Agenda 2000, the extension services for organic farming by government and private level, the research activities of organic agriculture by governmental research body(FAL) and universities, the education system for organic agriculture in the German universities(University of Bonn, Gesamthochschule Kassel, University of Hohenheim, University of Gie$\beta$en and etc) were also explained. In the conclusion it was suggested several issues what should be considered to facilitate an organic farming in Korea in the view of organic production, marketing, distributing, extension and organic processing.

  • Organic fanning in the UK has been greatly grown for the last decade. Two policies for supporting organic farming introduced in 1994 and 1999 played a crucial role in expanding organic farming area and increase in the number of farmers taken up organic fanning methods. Comparing the two policies, this paper identifies that the significant increase in financial aid to organic fanning in 1999 not only was a key factor to succeed in the scheme but also provided environmental base for further development of rural areas. However, such a national aid scheme should be improved in order to reflect regional specific characteristics in terms of environmental protection and local social and economic development. the experience of the UK suggests that the role of organic fanning in rural economics should be defined before enhancing financial support to farmers.

  • The number of organic farms are increasing in European countries during last 10 years. Most European governments are giving subsidies for organic farmers as well as converting organic farms from conventional farming method. The price level of most organic products are higher than price level of conventional products in general. However, there are certainly some market demand problems in organic products in some countries. Organic farms will be increased in 2005 and 2010 for 10∼20% of the total agricultural area in some European countries. Government subsidy payment is also increasing. Therefore, many farmers are going to change into organic farming method from conventional farming. However, there will be certainly some market demand problems in future because of national economic growth problems. At the same time, the quality of soil can be improved and status of health of urban consumers should be improved by consuming organic products.

  • In farming area, the elderly population is increasing year after year. And the gap between farming area and the city regarding quality of life is getting bigger and bigger. Besides, it has much poorer ground for living than the city. The current farming village maintenance project is adopting a different system now from the top-down project exclusively led by the government in the past to the bottom-up one reflecting how the residents think positively. Lack of the residents' understanding and education about the maintenance project, however, some of them are just focused on maintenance and development distorted from making a village where people want to live. Accordingly, this study will analyze the characteristics of farming villages by their types based on field research and spatial analysis using Space Syntax in order to develop more premeditated and effective maintenance plans to perform maintenance in farming area. As a result, When you install streetlights street lights should be installed at places with a high of Connectivity and spatial depth is deep. Based on this method, the research is going to suggest the current status of street furniture improvement in the villages and the proper positions for their future installation.

  • Hydrodynamic condition can be used to predict particle movement within water column and the results used to optimize environmental conditions for effective site selection, setting of environmental quality standard, waste dispersion, and pathogen transfer. To predict the extent of movement of particle from land, 3D hydrodynamic model that includes particle tracking module was applied to Geoje Bay and to calibrate particle tracking model, floating buoy measurement is operated. The model results show that short time is required for particles released into system from river to be transported to the shellfish farming area. It takes about 2 days for the particles to shellfish farming area under mean flow condition. It meant Geoje Bay, especially shellfish farming area is vulnerable to anthropogenic waste from river.

  • This study conducted an analysis of the distribution and status of baby boomer households and trends of turn to farming and returning home. At the same time, the density analysis of land price increase data, building data, and floating population data was conducted in Jeollanam-do County. The established base areas were superimposed to distinguish the regional centers according to the number of superimposed indicators. It is intended to present management measures according to the degree of activation of the center. An area where three bases overlap can be designated as a center activation area, and a place where two regions overlap can be designated as a center semi-activation area. Using the analysis of regional centers at the county level, hierarchies of the centers were classified and management measures were presented. Based on these findings, this study addresses meaningful applicability for regional and medium- and long-term plans.

  • This paper studied production characteristics of organic farming products and analyzed management income and production cost of organic farming(rice). In order to analyze these points actually, this study was focused on pruduction activities of a producers' organization, Pulmoo Cooperatives in Hong-Dong Myun, Hong-Seong Region, Chung Nam Province. So the following results were obtained : In 1994, output level and an income rate of rice per unit area(10a) which was produced in organic farming method(O.F.M) was higher than those of general farming method(G.F.M) as about 5%, 7.4%. And management income size of the former was 1.8 times as large as that of the latter. But rice production cost of O.F.M was 1.93 times as much as that of G.F.M, particularily in labor cost and farming equipment cost, light and heat expenses, many other material costs. For the progress of organic farming O.F.M and equipmets should be developed much more, for example, the technics of prevetion against damages by blight and harmful insects and improvement of varieties, natural pesticides, agricultual application of microorganisim, construction of compost heat factory, etc. Since these technics and establishments have taken on the public goods, the development of those should be supported by government.
