The far-infrared ray (FIR) has been applied to various fields such as medical therapy, kitchen utensils, bath supplies, and so on. The FIR-emitting agent was used to make functional paperboards to have freshness-maintaining ability. The FIR-emitting agent was diluted with different concentrations at 0.5% starch solution, and the FIR-emitting solutions were coated on paperboards, i.e., liner. The more the concentration of the FIR radiating agent increased at 0.5% cationic starch solution, the higher FIR emissivity and emission power of paperboards increased. The corrugated boxes made of paperboards coated by the FIR-radiating agents at over 5% dilution concentration endowed mandarin oranges in the boxes with greater antimicrobial activity than those in boxes made of paperboards coated by the agent at below 5% concentration. In addition, it was ascertained that treatment of the FIR agents rarely affected strength properties of paperboards.
The Sun's ray is composed of Infrared(49%), Visible light(40%) and Ultra violet(11%), however the ray getting to the earth is FIR(Far infrared; 60%), IR(Infrared; 20%), and UV(Ultra Violet; 20%). Human beings has utilized FIR already from time immemorial. Hershel found out Infrared for the first time. in the Industrial Revolution the Infrared and FIR had been begun to use making products. In these days, with contemporary science FIR would be begun to clear up the implication in the human body and organic compound. IR classified by wavelength three parts NlR, MIR, FIR. There is FIR which is radiated from healthy human body the wave length is 8-l4m. The human body is composed of proteins which get easily changed by a thermal factor (about 42 $^{\circ}$C over). FIR with low temperature can deeply penetrate on the human body composed things without troublesomes, since FIR has effectively operated on the human body at low temperature (35-40 $^{\circ}$C). When FlR penetrated on the human body. it would inhibit the abnormal genes and cells expression, and then information of DNA and RNA would be reexpressed for arranging DNA and RNA abnormal state. As FlR's receptors in the body, it could be presumed that N-glycosyl linkage of purine and deoxyribose, RNA splicing process, and Heat shock protein. To take the FIR which was a optimized wavewlength and strength, at first, we induced the characteristic algorithm and the computerized programing. Then we formed that the formular of optimized FIR with physical, mathematical logic and theory. especially, Plank, Kirchhoff, Wien, Stefan-Boltzmann's logic and law. In the long run, the formular was induced with integration mathematical, since we had to know the molecular wavelength. Based on the induced formular as above, we programmed the optimized FlR radiating computerized program. In this research, we designed the eletronic circuit f3r interfacing with human body to diagnosis and treatment with FIR sensor which radiated FIR wavelength optimized.
Wild grapes have been used as traditional medicinal use and alcoholic beverage production in Korea. The objective of this study is to improve antioxidant properties in Sae-muru by far infrared ray (FIR) treatment, with expecting potential benefits of FIR treatment for wild grape products during manufacturing processes. FIR treatment in berries induced increased content of catechin, epicatechin gallate, epigallocatechin gallate, gallic acid, rutin, ellagic acid, and resveratrol, while content of epicatechin and epigallocatechin was decreased. Although FIR treatment resulted either increased or decreased chemical component groups, presenting in HPLC chromatograms, antioxidant activity in Sae-muru extract was significantly increased by the FIR treatment. Our results suggest that FIR treatment should be an efficient process in the production of high content of bioactive molecules in Sae-muru.
This research was conducted to determine the effect of far-infrared ray (FIR) irradiation of grape berries as a potential application for manufacturing grape products with a high amount of antioxidant chemicals. Two grape cultivars, the red grape cv. Campbell Early and the white grape cv. Thompson Seedless, produced increased amounts of crude extracts, in the FIR treatments compared to a non-FIR treatment control with same temperature. However, total phenolic concentrations and antioxidant activity in a 'Campbell Early' increased in the extracts following FIR treatment, whereas those of 'Thompson Seedless' did not increase significantly. High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis indicated that functional components affecting antioxidant activity were significantly increased in the extract of 'Campbell Early' following FIR treatment. Our results indicate that application of FIR treatment in heat process of grapes increases levels of antioxidative phenolic chemicals and it may help to enhance the availability of antioxidative compounds in various grape food products.
Recent high-resolution infrared space missions have revealed supernova remnants (SNRs) of diverse morphology in far infrared (FIR), often very different from their X-ray appearance. This suggests that the FIR emission from SNRs could be of different origins. For a sample of 20 Galactic SNRs, we examine the correlation between their FIR and X-ray properties and explore the origin of the FIR emission. We find that the SNRs with very different FIR and X-ray morphology have relatively large infrared-to-X-ray (IRX) flux ratios. We argue that the FIR emission in these SNRs is likely mainly from dust grains radiatively-heated by shock radiation. For SNRs with similar IR and X-ray morphology, the FIR emission of which is probably mostly from dust grains collisionally heated by hot plasma, we compare their IRX flux ratios with theoretical ratios from a model incorporating time-dependent dust destruction and non-equilibrium ionization cooling behind SNR shock, and discuss the implications of our result.

A Far Infrared Ray (FIR) dryer was designed , constructed and tested for red pepper , lycium chinese, and mushroom (Cortiellus shiitake ) drying , and the results were compared to the heated air dryer at the same condition. In the FIR dryer, three different panel materials , galvanized, copper and stainless steel, were used and no ceramic coating and those with ceramic coating (three panels) were 58% , 56%, 64%, and 88% , respectively. The drying times of lycium chinese and mushroom were shortened in FIR dryer by 6 hrs and 4 hrs compared to the heated air drying, respectively. while to remarkable difference in the drying times was found in the red pepper drying . The quality of products was better in FIR dryer where more red color value for red pepper and lycium chinese and more brightness for mushroom . The drying performance of a FIR dryer was superior in terms of total cost of 80,800 WON /100kg of lycium chinese , reduced by 25% compared to the heated air drying.
The Far Infrared Ray (FIR) is part of the natural energy as light spectrum of sunlight. Human can disentangle the colors within visible ray, but FIR is invisible to human sight because it has longer wavelength than visible ray. The effect of using FIR on broiler performance, blood biochemical profiles and fecal gas emission from litter. Day-old semi-broiler chicks (Ross ♂ ${\times}$ Hyline ♀) were obtained and assigned to eight pens, 2 replicates of white and green color LED light, and with FIR on each color light, in a 20L:4D of lighting program. The body weight gain and feed efficiency were tend to improve under the green color than white color, which were increased by exposing to FIR on both color light. Emission of ammonia and lower hydrocarbons from litter were not different from each color but there was a decrease by exposing to FIR regardless of light color. The level of blood aspartate aminotransferase (AST) tends to be decreased under green color than white color, and this tendency becomes more pronounced as exposing to FIR. Therefore significantly increased under white color without FIR than green color with FIR (P<0.05). The levels of albumin and immunoglobulin were not different from each color but there was an increase by exposing to FIR regardless of light color. In conclusion, exposing to Far Infrared Ray (FIR) when broiler raising, there is potential to increase broiler performance because of improvement of bioactivity and raising environment.
The Sun's ray is composed of Infared(49%), Visible light(40%) and Ultra violet(11%), however the ray getting to the earth is FIR(60%). IR(20%), and UV(20%). Human beings has utilized FIR already from time immemorial. Hershel found out Infrared for the first time, in the Industrial Revolution the Infrared and FI R had been begun to use making products. In asia. also, asian already has made use of FIR to treat the body, product things and make warm the house in the winter, as it had been called Wull therapy, fermentation. and On-Dol system. In these days, with contemporary science FIR would be begun to clear up the implication in the human body and organic compounds. IR classified by wavelength three parts NIR, MIR, FIR. There is FIR which is radiated from healthy human body the wave length is 8-14 m. It is difficult to standardized the wavelength of IR, since each related associations have a different opinion, so we suggested ideal IR wavelength and biological, phsiotherapical, medical FIR wavelength.
We present preliminary results of far-infrared(FIR) study of the supernova remnant(SNR)s in the Large Magellanic Cloud using the Herschel HERITAGE (HERschel Inventory of The Agents of Galaxy Evolution) data set. HERITAGE provides FIR data covering the entire LMC at 100,160, 250, 350, and 500 um. In order to confirm FIR emission associated with SNRs, we refer to Magellanic Cloud Emission-Line Survey (MCELS) H-alpha & SII data, Spitzer surveying the Agents of a Galaxy's Evolution (SAGE) Multiband Imaging Photometer (MIPS) 24um & 70um data, Chandra Supernova Remnants Catalog, and ATCA 4.8GHz continuum images of Dickel et al. (2005). Among 47 SNRs in the LMC, 7 SNRs show associated FIR emission. We present multi-wavelength view of 5 SNRs; DEM L249, N49, N63A, N132D, and the SNR in N4. N49 and N132D show morphological correlation in FIR and X-ray, suggesting that the FIR emission is from dust grains collisionally heated by X-ray emitting plasma. The FIR emission of N63A resembles H-alpha emission, which implies that the FIR line radiation could be dominant. The FIR images of the rest two objects, DEM L249 and SNR in N4, show no correlation to the other-waveband images.
This research was conducted to investigate antioxidant activities of Juglans mandshrica forages by the irradiation of far infrared ray during leaf drying processes before compound extraction, with its potential use for activating antioxidants. The contents of total phenolics and flavonoids in the basis of a gram leaf dry weight were maximized in 20 min at 30 V of far infrared irradiation. Total phenolic content was 25.43 mg/g in the FIR treatment, while it was 21.12 mg/g in the non-FIR treatment control. Total flavonoid content was 39.38 mg/g in the FIR treatment, while it was 32.78 mg/g in the non-FIR treatment control. The contents were decreased when the condition of far infrared ray irradiation was higher voltage and longer treatment time, exhibiting 16.93 mg/g of total phenolics and 23.78 mg/g of total flavonoids in 30 min at 50 V of far infrared irradiation. The antioxidant activities were shown to positive relationships with the contents of total phenolics and total flavonoids. In this study, we concluded that content of bioactive molecules relating antioxidant activity in Juglans mandshrica forages is optimized in 20 min at 30 V of far infrared irradiation for leaf drying process.
