  • The DC Motor of a vehicle may cause noise and vibration due to high-speed revolution, which can make a driver feel uncomfortable. There have been various studies that attempted to solve these problems, mostly focusing on the causes of noise and vibration and the means of preventing them. The CAE methodology is more efficient than a real test for the purpose of looking for various design parameters to reduce the noise and vibration of the DC motor. In this study, a design process for reducing brush noise is presented with the use of a computer model, which is made by using a multi-body dynamics program (DADS). The design parameters to reduce the brush noise and vibration were proposed using a computer model. They were used to reduce the noise and vibration of a DC motor and verified by the test results of a fan DC motor in a vehicle. This method may be applicable to various DC motors.

  • In cloud computing infrastructure, current virtual machine trust measurement methods have many shortcomings in dynamism, security and concurrency. In this paper, we present a new method to measure the trust of virtual machine. Firstly, we propose "behavior trace" to describe the state of virtual machine. Behavior trace is a sequence of behaviors. The measurement of behavior trace is conducted on the basis of anticipated trusted behavior, which not only ensures security of the virtual machine during runtime stage but also reduces complexity of the trust measurement. Based on the behavior trace, we present a Dynamic Tree Style Trust Measurement Model (DTSTM). In this model, the measurement of system domain and user domain is separated, which enhances the extensibility, security and concurrency of the measurement. Finally, based on System Call Interceptor (SCI) and Virtual Machine Introspection (VMI) technology, we implement a DTSTM prototype system for virtual machine trust measurement. Experimental results demonstrate that the system can effectively verify the trust of virtual machine and requires a relatively low performance overhead.

  • This paper deals with free vibration analysis of non-uniform column resting on elastic foundations and subjected to follower force at its free end. The internal pores and graphene platelets (GPLs) are distributed in the matrix according to different patterns. The model is proposed with material parameters varying in the thickness of column to achieve graded distributions in both porosity and nanofillers. The elastic modulus of the nanocomposite is obtained by using Halpin-Tsai micromechanics model. The differential quadrature method as an efficient and accurate numerical approach is used to discretize the governing equations and to implement the boundary conditions. It is observed that the maximum vibration frequency obtained in the case of symmetric porosity and GPL distribution, while the minimum vibration frequency is obtained using uniform porosity distribution. Results show that for better understanding of mechanical behavior of nanocomposite column, it is crucial to consider porosities inside the material structure.

  • Fly ash and silica fume belong to industry by-products that can be used to produce concrete. This study shows the model of a neural network to evaluate the strength development of blended concrete containing fly ash and silica fume. The neural network model has four input parameters, such as fly ash replacement content, silica fume replacement content, water/binder ratio, and ages. Strength is the output variable of neural network. Based on the backpropagation algorithm, the values of elements in the hidden layer of neural network are determined. The number of neurons in the hidden layer is confirmed based on trial calculations. We find (1) neural network can give a reasonable evaluation of the strength development of composite concrete. Neural network can reflect the improvement of strength due to silica fume additions and can consider the reductions of strength as water/binder increases. (2) When the number of neurons in the hidden layer is five, the prediction results show more accuracy than four neurons in the hidden layer. Moreover, five neurons in the hidden layer can reproduce the strength crossover between fly ash concrete and plain concrete. Summarily, the neural network-based model is valuable for design sustainable composite concrete containing silica fume and fly ash.

  • In recent years, with the rapid growth of China's animation industry, the two-dimensional culture and consumption have been immersed in the daily lives of young people. The two-dimensional culture that mainly exists on young people is gradually entering the public's field of vision, making the two-dimensional culture not It is only restricted to the fixed fan circle, but is known to more people outside the circle. At the same time, the "barrage" (screen text) cultures in video websites has become popular with some film and television works, Internet terms, etc., and has attracted the attention on mainstream culture. On the one hand, its cultural products have appeared on traditional mainstream video websites and advertisements on provincial satellite TV. And in the program, on the other hand, a small part of the screen text and cultural terms are also used by some celebrities and other ordinary people who don't understand the meaning of the terms at all, and have caused widespread dissemination. Sometimes the video website itself is also mentioned, which obviously shows a difference. The tendency towards a kind of screen texts subculture to penetrate the mainstream culture.

  • There is an emerging interest in brain functional connectivity (FC) based on functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Alzheimer's disease (AD) studies. The complex and high-dimensional structure of FC makes it challenging to explore the association between altered connectivity and AD susceptibility. We develop a pipeline to refine FC as proper covariates in a penalized logistic regression model and classify normal and AD susceptible groups. Three different quantification methods are proposed for FC refinement. One of the methods is dimension reduction based on common component analysis (CCA), which is employed to address the limitations of the other methods. We applied the proposed pipeline to the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) data and deduced pathogenic FC biomarkers associated with AD susceptibility. The refined FC biomarkers were related to brain regions for cognition, stimuli processing, and sensorimotor skills. We also demonstrated that a model using CCA performed better than others in terms of classification performance and goodness-of-fit.

  • Chinese traditional patterns, which are part of our national precious heritage, have a long history. Tiger culture plays a very important role in folk art. In modern society, it is a symbol of human spirit and morality. The tiger pattern is also a unique traditional pattern in Chinese folklore. From the Spring and Autumn period to modern society, the tiger pattern has evolved in form through thousands of years of development. It is also a representative intangible cultural heritage in contemporary times. It plays a special role in the cultural exchange of different regions, resulting in the generation of the creation of folk art with great local characteristics. Therefore, traditional tiger patterns are an important part of traditional Chinese folk culture and art. In this study, by analyzing the development and evolution history of Chinese traditional tiger patterns, the application methods of Chinese traditional tiger patterns were summarized, the rich cultural connotation, artistic characteristics and application of traditional tiger pattern in modern fashion design were discussed. In contemporary design, the new and improved tiger pattern styles were explored, intangible cultural heritage was interpreted and inherited, and the cultural and artistic values contained therein were extracted. The author combined with modern fashion design, according to people's aesthetic taste and design principles, it is recreated,so that the traditional pattern has certain characteristics of The Times. But at the same time it retains its original character, and the traditional tiger pattern was inherited and the cultural connotation of clothing design was enriched.

  • In spite of the importance of the natural ventilation pressure(NVP) in tunnels for the optimal design of the ventilation system, there have been only few studies on the NVP because its measurement and quantitative analysis are not straightforward. This study aims at quantifying the amount of the NVP with the terrain and meteorological data for the local major tunnels. And ultimately this will lead to developing the guidelines for quantifying and applying NVP for the optimal design of tunnel ventilation system. 22 local tunnels in the major routes are studied for the NVP quantification. NVP derived from the meteorological data is in the range of 20~140 Pa, while NVP estimated from the terrain data ranges from 20 to 200 Pa. Since the jet fan pressure is about 10~15 Pa per unit, the minimum level of NVP expected in the local tunnels is larger than the pressure rise by one unit of the ordinary jet fan. This implies that NVP in local tunnels should be quantified and be taken into consideration for the economic and safe ventilation design. The barometric pressure difference between tunnel portals is found to be the most influential factor, accounting for 61% of the NVP, while the wind pressure acting on the portals and the chimney effects occupy 22% and 17%, respectively.
