The Cronbach $\alpha$, %, mean, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and regression in SPSS PC Win. package was used to analyze the data. The sample was sepernted into three groups premarital group 20.2%(premarital women between 18 and 40 years old), delivery and children rearing group 49.9%(marital women between 18 and 40 years old), over middle agedelderly group 29.9%(women over 41 years old). Significant difference were found in the HPL according to group. Also, relating variables, such as self-efficacy, family functions, health locus of control and gender role perception that were considered relating variables to HPL significantly differed among the three groups. HPL significantly correlated with self-efficacy, family functions, HLOC and gender role perception in all participants and at all groups. The regression analysis of HPL was interpreted 40.6% with relating variables, self-efficacy, health attention, family functions, and internal locus of control, health perception, power other locus of control and chance locus of control in all participant. Self-efficacy, family functions, health attention were considered important variables in premarital group, self-efficacy, family functions, internal locus of control, health attention, health perception and power of control were important in delivery-rearing group. Self-efficacy, health attention, internal locus of control, family functions and health perception were important in middle aged-elderly group. As a result, we found the differences HPL scores and relating variables according to life-cycle groups. • The purpose of this study is to explore whether wives communicate differently over the family life cycle(FLC), and whether their communication contents and frequencies are differently over the FLC. Marital communication scales are composed of six subfactors such as The selectivity of channel (SC), Channel direction (CD), communication style(CS), Comprehension of nonverbal communication (CNC), Communication contents and frequencies(CCF) and Olson's marital communication (LCQ). The number of the subjects are 582, who are living in Pusan in 1987 and they divided into six stages family life cycle; The newly married (FLC 1). The family with preschoolers(FLC 2), The family with schoolages (FLC3), The family with teenages(FLC4), The family with launching children(FLC 5) and The postparenthood (FLC 6). This study is surveyed by Frequencies and Mean score from six subfactors and tested by chi-square test and ANOVA. the results are as follows; 1) There are a few significant differences in CS and CNC by FLC. The wives from FLC 1 and FLC 2 use the most open communication style and them form FLC5 use the most closed style. There are revealed that comprehension of nonverbal communication is the highest of FLC2, but on FLC 1 it is the lowest. 2) There are significant difference in CCF. Children, Wive's life, Husband's life, Affection and sex and Empathy show significant differences over the over the FLC. Regardless of FLC, there are conclueded that Children, Wive's and husband's life and economy management are the most frequence communicative contents. These results suggest that there needs to be further investigation on Olson's marital communication scale for comparing another country with ours and on the training and programs for couple's skillful communication ability.

  • The purposes of this study are 1) to explore the evaluating attribute of family life- insurance 2) to examine the relationship between evaluation attribute variables and level of consumer satisfaction/ dissatisfaction (CS/D), and 3) to investigate the sociodemographic variables and psychological variables which influence the purchase of life-insurance. The data used in this study include 432 households of 208 life-insurance purchasers and 224 non-purchasers Statistics used for the data analysis are x2, factor analysis, multiple regression and a discriminant analysis. The resulting major findings are as follows; 1) The evaluating attributes are saving function, convenience. economic payoff, safety for future accident, agreement of insurance, and reputation of brand. 2) Among these factors. the most important factors. in CS/D of life-insurance are saving function, and reputation of brand. 3) the purchase of life-insurance has been influenced by such sociodemographic variables as husband's age , family income, and family life-cycle. Psychological variables such as attitude of life, perceived risk, consumer attitude about insurance business did not influence the purchase of life -insurance significantly. As mentioned above, we can conclude that Korean purchasers of life-insurance are using irrational evaluating attributes. Therefore more education of the consumers and more information about life-insurance purchases are necessary. Especially low-income households and first step of family life-cycle families are turned out to need more education as well as more information.

  • Based on residents' survey data in Seoul, this study attempts to empirically answer to four research questions regarding neighborhood relations (NR) which are necessary for community building: How important NR is compared to other social relations, what factors establish NR, how large NR's geographical extent is, and what are major meeting places among neighbors. A series of statistical analyses demonstrates that characteristics of NR vary greatly by family life cycle. In the stage of couple without child, NR has no significant meaning. NR becomes important from the stage of child care, and it is formed through the medium of children, particularly children's schools in the stage of child of elementary school as well as secondary schools. As the result, NR's geographical boundary extends beyond residential block or multi-family housing (apartment) estate while cafe and restaurant serve as dominant meeting places in these life cycle stages. On the contrary, after children are married and leave home, casual encounters resulted from spatial proximity become an important cause of NR. Likewise neighbors' geographical distribution is relatively concentrated within residential block or apartment estate, while community facilities play a role of meeting places as originally planned and designed.
