  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of organizational culture, personality Traits, work addiction and workplace family conflict on the life satisfaction of Korean Air crew. Methods: The collected data through the survey were analyzed using structure equation model analysis The sample used for the empirical analysis is a total of 578 questionnaires. Results: Empirical analysis summarized next. Organizational culture and personality characteristics have some effects on work poisoning. However, the compulsion of work driven does not affect work-family conflict, Family-Work Conflict does not affect Life Satisfaction. Conclusion: This paper has a contribution in that it extends the range of the academic research concerning Workaholic. Also this paper provides implications on effective human resource management method suitable for airline industry.

  • This research evaluated the present condition of the family voluntary service group and healthy family campaign, which was being carried out as one of the healthy family culture businesses of the Healthy Family-Support Center. Furthermore, it suggests ways to improve these business activities. Research centered on the analysis of business documents created between December 2006 and November 2007. The results were as follows. First, the family voluntary service group and the healthy family campaign business in the Center must be able to have specificity or individuality. Second, the Center must manage the scale, frequency, and contents of the businesses systematically. Third, the businesses must concern themselves with family life in general, make better use of the advisory committee or steering committee, concern variety of business performing system.

자생적 과학문화 실천과정으로서의 가족팬덤 형성과정에 대한 문화기술지 연구 -국립해양생물자원관 가족프로그램 참가 가족들을 중심으로- (An Ethnographic Study on the Process of Forming a Family Fandom as a Self-sustaining Scientific Cultural Practice Process: Focusing on Participating Families in the Family Program of the National Marine Biodiversity Institute of Korea)

  • 이 연구는 국립해양생물자원관에서 운영하는 가족교육프로그램에 참여한 세 가족에 대하여 과학문화에 초점을 맞추어 가족팬덤 형성과정을 문화기술지방법론으로 수행한 질적연구다. 이는 서로 다른 환경의 세 가족이 가족교육을 통해 과학 활동을 일상적 문화실천 행동으로 나타난 향유-해독-변용의 과정을 거쳐 자생적 과학문화실천 형성 과정으로 가족팬덤 완성에 대하여 분석⋅요약된다. 이 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 가족과 함께 한 과학 활동이 유기적인 상호작용을 통해 유대감 강화와 과학문화에 대한 공감대가 확대된다. 둘째, 부모와 자녀는 일상생활에서 과학 관련 경험을 공유하며 과학적 소양인이 될 수 있는 독특하고 자신들만의 문화적 생활 속 문화공유형태로 실천했다는 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구는 완성형 자체로서의 과학문화 가족팬덤의 의미가 아닌, 완성형을 향해 가는 과정으로 종합적으로 밝혀보고자 했으며, 가족활동의 의미생산이 과학문화로 발전시킬 수 있는 사회문화적 함의를 갖는다.

Family Mealtime Environments of 11-12 Year-old Children in the Incheon Area

  • This study was performed to describe the perceptions of the family mealtime environment in preadolescents, and to determine the frequency of family meals and whether the mealtime environment is associated with nutrient intake. Surveys and 24-hour dietary recalls were completed by 197 children, ages 11 to 12, in elementary schools in the Incheon area. We assessed family meal frequency and the perceptions of the family meal environment with respect to priority, atmosphere, and family mealtime structure. The subject response frequencies and correlations among perceptions of the family mealtime environment, as well as the frequency of family meals and nutrient intake, were analyzed. Having a greater priority for family meals was associated with an increased frequency of family mealtimes. An enjoyable family meal environment was positively correlated with increases in nutrient intake. From the results of this study, we suggest that consideration be placed on opportunities to design nutrition promotion strategies that target families and their children, with respect to promoting family mealtimes and overcoming the barriers to having family meals.

재문화충격과 주관적 안녕감 간 관계에서 지지체계와 문화정체성의 조절효과 (The moderating effect of social supports and cultural identity on the relationships of reverse culture shock, and subjective well-being)

  • 본 연구에서는 해외유학경험 후 귀국한 성인들의 재문화충격 경험과 주관적 안녕감을 알아보고, 지지체계(가족지지, 모국친구지지, 외국친구지지)와 문화정체성(모국정체성, 외국정체성)이 재문화충격과 주관적 안녕감의 관계를 조절하는지를 살펴보았다. 연구참여자들은 19세 이전에 한국을 떠나 해외에서 3년 이상 거주를 하고 한국으로 되돌아온 157명의 귀국성인이었다. 위계적 회귀분석을 통해 재문화충격과 각각의 조절변인에 대해 이원상호작용을 분석한 결과, 재문화충격과 주관적 안녕감 간에는 부적인 관계가 있었으며, 가족지지의 조절효과만이 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 구체적으로, 재문화충격과 주관적 안녕감 간의 관계 강도는 가족지지가 높을 때 완화되는 것으로 나타났다. 다음으로 재문화충격, 사회적 지지 중 한 요인, 문화정체성 중 한 요인을 대상으로 삼원상호작용을 분석한 결과, 재문화충격, 가족지지, 모국정체성의 삼원상호작용이 유의하였다. 특히 재문화충격과 주관적 안녕감의 관계강도는 가족지지와 문화정체성 중 한가지만 낮을 때 보다 모두 다 낮을 때 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 귀국성인들의 재문화충격과 주관적 안녕감의 관계가 조절가능하며 재문화적응과정에서의 가족지지(환경적 요인)와 모국정체성(개인내적 요인)의 중요성을 시사한다.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop field programs to activate family volunteering and thereby promote healthy family life. The programs were based on a review of family ecological theories of family volunteering activities. A focus group interview was conducted about satisfaction of the program with five volunteers who were experiencing the same family life cycle. The results of study showed that growing sprouts, which are environmentally friendly activities in family, and family volunteer activities lead to family leisure, table, community sharing cultures and cooperation culture between the family and the community. These effects can ultimately contribute to the creation of a healthy family culture.

남성의 일-가정 양립 실태와 요구도 (A Study on the Condition and Need of Work-Family Balance)

  • This study analyzes the balance between work and family in married, working men and investigates their need to create this balance. Data from 253 married men was collected and analyzed. The index for the questionnaire was developed using the scale from the Second National Survey of Korean Families and related research. The results show that married, working men are slightly better at balancing their work and family lives than average. Furthermore, the effects of job-related variables were higher than the effects of other social-demographic variables. Job flexibility was the major variable that determined the balance between work and family. The highest need to balance between work and family was monetary support for caring and educating children. This paper concludes that in order to improve the work-family balance, the current working culture has to be changed, and various policies and strategies that encourage a family-friendly working culture must be implemented.

동남아출신 어머니와 한국인 아버지의 이중언어사회화가 어머니 출신국 문화에 대한 청소년기 자녀의 태도 및 관계만족도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Bilingual Socialization of Mothers from Southeast Asia and Korean Fathers on Adolescents' Attitude toward Mothers' Native Culture and Mother-Adolescent Relationship Satisfaction)

  • Family environment plays a significant role in adolescent development. Multicultural adolescents in Korea are brought up in a distinctive family environment, where they get to experience two different cultures within their families. Thus, it is important to examine how internal characteristics of the family environment in multicultural families and interactions between family members influence adolescents. The aim of the current study was to examine structural relationships among Southeast Asian mothers' and Korean fathers' bilingual socialization, adolescents' attitude toward mothers' native culture, and mother-adolescent relationship satisfaction. Specifically, the following two questions were addressed in this study: 1) Does bilingual socialization of each parent affect adolescents' attitude toward mothers' native culture? 2) Does children's attitude toward mothers' native culture affect mother-adolescent relationship satisfaction? To answer these questions, the survey data from the '2012 Nationwide Survey of Multicultural Families' was analysed, using SEM. The sample consisted of 318 multicultural adolescents (aged 9-17) living with Korean fathers and immigrant mothers from Southeast Asia. The main findings were as follows. First, Korean fathers' bilingual socialization had a positive effect on immigrant mothers' bilingual socialization. The path from Korean fathers' bilingual socialization to adolescents' attitude toward mothers' native culture was significantly mediated by immigrant mothers' bilingual socialization. Second, adolescents' attitude toward mothers' native culture had a positive effect on mother-adolescent relationship satisfaction. Results suggest that Korean fathers' bilingual socialization is an important factor for bilingual socialization of multicultural adolescents. It is also worth noting that each parent's bilingual socialization helps multicultural adolescents to form a positive identity as a member of multicultural families.

  • 기존의 기업문화를 고려하면, 여성들이 일과 가정의 양립이 어려워 국가나 기업의 측면에서 인력손실을 초래하였다. 그러나 기업이 조직내 가족친화적 문화의 하나로 육아에 대한 사회적 책임을 올바르게 인식하고 적극적인 의지를 갖게 된다면 전통적 육아의 방식을 탈피하고, 노동시장 내의 직장보육시설 확대를 통한 경쟁력제고와 더불어 사회적 기여를 할 수 있는 토대가 마련될 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 본 연구는 성별분업의 문화가 가정 내에서 뿐만 아니라 기업에서도 가족중심의 가족친화적 문화로 변화를 이루어야 함을 피력하고, 직장보육시설의 확대를 위해 기업이 사회적 책임을 통감해야 한다고 보는 관점에서 정부는 가족친화적 조직문화를 지닌 기업을 적절하게 지원하고 이를 통해 기업은 이윤추구와 더불어 사회적 공헌을 하여 사회적 정당성을 확보할 수 있음을 밝힌다.

  • The Healthy Family Act was announced in February 2004 and has been in effect since January 2005. The purpose of this study was to determine some of the proper directions in the management of Healthy Family Centers based on the results of a six-month demonstration project. Family welfare services whose primary goal is to offer a system which support properly functining families and promoting their health, should be planned and provided from the perspective of the families involved, since they are the recipients of welfare services. furthermore, it's needed to stay abreast with rapid social changes that necessarily contribute to altering people's values. Healthy Family Centers will be placed in local communities and offer efficient education, counseling and family culture programs tailored to diverse family needs. In order to make, this work properly, all specialists and organizations associated with the project should make concerted efforts on a long-term basis.
