The purpose of this research is to find applicable design characteristics and methods of communal spaces in vertical urban multi-family housing. With this goal, several overseas' multi-family housing projects are selected and their communal spaces are identified. The design characteristics of the communal spaces are analyzed with a special focus on the territories such as an individual unit boundary, building interior and exterior boundary. In terms of the framework for analysis, territoriality, openness, and unique characteristics are reviewed. As a result, the communal spaces are created using various spatial composition methods such as addition, subtraction, connection, extension, accumulation, and isolation. The communal space programs are integrated in plans and sections throughout the buildings. Visual openness and connection with surrounding urban environments are articulated by void spaces, transparent and translucent building materials, green spaces, and applications of graphical images. Communal identities and aesthetics are emphasized by unique building forms and space arrangements. The uses of finish materials, colors, objects, and images add strong characters to the communal spaces. For a further research, it is necessary to combine a design method study with residents' behaviors and community interactions.

The purpose of this study is to actualize the unit planning space. First, to understand various needs about residential space of apartments inhabitants. Excessive weight gain in children diagnosed with celiac disease (CD) is becoming more common. We describe 2 siblings (9-year and 6 months-old female and 6-year and 9 months-old male) with obesity showing attenuated gastrointestinal and atypical symptoms in which CD was diagnosed in the absence of a known family history of CD. After children's diagnosis, CD in their parents was also investigated. It was detected in their father affected by overweight. The presentation of patients with CD has changed. While patients with overweight and obesity commonly have symptoms such as abdominal pain, reflux, headache, and constipation due to lifestyle factors, CD should also be considered in patients with or without a family history of CD. Careful nutritional status assessment and follow-up monitoring after the diagnosis of CD are mandatory, especially in subjects who are already overweight at the presentation of this disease.
The Unite d'Habitation at Marseilles was an experimental project that Le Corbusier had been waiting for since 1920s in order to explore his ideals and visions in mass housing and city planning. As a leader of the first generation members in CIAM, Le Corbusier tried to give a new form and an order to the Unite d'Habitation at Marseilles in both building design and city planning level. The purpose of this research is to investigate the design characteristics of the Unite d'Habitation at Marseilles in three different levels of built environment with a particular emphasis on the process through which an original form is derived from its contextual settings. In the level of city planning, Le Corbusier aimed to reshape traditional low-rise urban housing by deploying several Unites spaciously. Le Corbusier believed that the spacious deployment of Unites would bring us both the functional economy in the city and the natural amenity in the suburbs. As Unite d'Habitation would be called frequently as vertical garden city, the influence of suburban garden city on Unite d'Habitation is apparent. In the building level, the binomial harmony of individual-collectivity was pursued by providing three different public floors and by combining 23 different family unit types in the Unite d'Habitation at Marseilles. In order to visualize the concept of object-type, family units were prefabricated and inserted into the structural frame of the Unite d'Habitation at Marseilles. Two family units are combined to make a three-story section with street corridor in the middle. This three-story section unit is very original as it has access corridor every third floor and each unit could have considerable depth with the help of the living space of two story height. In consideration of formal and plan similarity as well as contextual edivdence, it is concluded that the three-story section of the Unite d'Habitation is derived more from Narkomfin Apartments than from the monastery at Ema or Immuble Villas.

The purpose of this study was to emphasize the household financial education as a part of family life education, especially when provided at local community level; it also examines diverse measures by which to deliver such education. To this end, the current study focuses on the education programs of a healthy family support center, which has been established as a representative transmission system. The current status of its operations was examined, and practical measures by which to stimulate the delivery of financial education within that center were derived. In more detail, previous studies inside and outside of Korea were examined, and the current status of financial education included in the area of family life education was assessed; as a result of these assessments, the definition and objectives of financial education as family life education were adjusted. The limits of financial education that has been delivered thus far were reviewed, with the aim of proposing measures by which to sufficiently stimulate the delivery of financial education programs-programs that ultimately reflect the healthy family philosophy. This study proposes four specific measures by which to stimulate financial education. The first is the application of 'life cycle perspectives' to educational terms. The second is the activation of financial education programs that involve the family unit as educational subjects. Third, the delivery of lectures which related to the financing and nurturing of program coordinators was proposed. The fourth is drawing a connection between online and offline education in terms of effectively applying teaching methods. Ultimately, the results of this study can be used as basic data to inform the planning, development, and operational stages of financial education programs within family life education, which can be performed in healthy family support centers in the future.

This study aims at investigating how middle school students perceive the content of the 'Me and My Family Relations' unit in the technology and home economics textbook, act on such perceptions and how this connects with their healthy family relations. In addition, the study also points at inquiring into what kind of differences and mutual influences can be found in the above-mentioned three factors according to family environment. With this objective. this research has analyzed survey data conducted on 401 7th grade middle school students residing in Incheon Greater city, collected by the random sampling method. The findings are as follow: First, the students were found to have positive perceptions on the 'family relations and communication' unit in the technology and home economics text book. However. they were also found to perceive that the content was not as realizable in their everyday family lives. Second, the number of students who perceived their family lives to be healthy was found to be quite high. The students perceived their family lives to be healthy projecting from such aspects as the degree of gratification and affection, extent of family bonding, communication patterns, and problem solving abilities, in the same order. In addition, the higher the families' socio-economic level, and in the cases that the students had working mothers and the fathers held higher degrees, the degree to which the families were perceived to be healthy was higher. Third, in investigating the influence that such factors as the students' family environment, the degree that students perceived the text book content positively, and the degree that the students perceive the content to be realizable have on healthy family relations, among these factors, the students' perceived degree of how healthy their family relations are had the most bearing over the above-mentioned factors. The second influential factor on how healthy family relations are was the family's affectional environment, found to be more influential than such factors as family type, the mother's employment status, living standards, and the parents' educational level. On the other hand, the perceived level of realizability was found to have a lower influence on the students' family relations than the perceived positivity.
The purpose of this study is to understand how Vietnamese migrated women's family members understand cultural differences and to review the causes and types of family conflict during the acculturation. To do this, the researcher interviewed 10 cases which consist of three family members in a case: a Vietnamese migrated woman, her husband and mother in law. Research results are as follows. First, they are three main factors such as different ways to communicate, patriarchic ways of thinking and different ways of daily life which have caused family conflict. The conflict caused has been reinforced by anger and frustration against other family members. However, based on understanding on the preciousness of family and importance of inter-respect, it is still on going to find out the moderate way to manage family conflict among their family members. This study has practical and methodological significances. At policy and practice level, this research stresses on the significance of focusing on the family as a unit to be approached for policy and practice intervention. As the methodological aspect, the research tried to search the relationship among family members in the Vietnamese migrated women's family by including not only a migrated woman but also her husband and mother in law. However, there is a limit as it only focuses on cases which family members could manage the family conflict.
Korean families have been undergone tremendous changes during the past three decades with societal changes. Korean families become smaller, diverse, and multi-cultural. These family changes challenge child development research. Family is not just an intimate relationship. Family is also a structural environment, a system linking micro and macro system, an institution, and an ideology. Consequently, researchers need to pay attention to various ways family influence child development and take into account family as a whole unit. Researchers are also challenged to make a stance regarding family changes and diversity. Temporality is another important issue in studying how family development and child development interact. In terms of public policy, social services should be developed to cope with the new social risks from family changes and to mitigate a growing developmental gap among the children of families with different economic classes.
The purpose of this study is to find out the spatial characteristics of the multi-housing units in Seoul and Kyung-gi area since 2006. Literature review and content analysis were used for this study and 82units of the big size over $165m^2$ were analyzed to review such design characteristics as spatial composition, layout and linkage. Through this study, the following conclusions have been reached; 1) Most unit plans had 4LDK and 3bath types including family room as a public space. This results shows that family-room and bathroom has recently become more important than number of rooms in multi-housing units planning. 2) Diversity of plan figures such as mass-mixing, mass-separation and polygons(L, V-type)was showed in most unit plan, breaking from the standardized forms of box types. 3) Intermediated spaces such as foyers and halls in entrance zone were planned and sub-entrance into kitchen were planned for the various types of circulation and work-efficiency. Cases had private space separated from public space, the dispersion of rooms with the increase of connection by corridors, L-DK meaning the living room isolated from the dining and kitchen, partially located living room for a view in area distribution. The spatial planning of master-zone mostly consists of the types of two-rooms and an entry into a foyer(library, dress-powder room, bathroom and master bedroom). This study has a significant meaning on grasping current trend in Korean multi-housing and to provide information for future direction on housing-unit design.

It was quite an achievement to actualize family welfare, announcing' Healthy Family Basic Acts(2004)', which enabled to pursue comprehensive welfare policy including family life as a unit. This has enhanced family function, converting into consolidated family-centered service system, creating a new paradigm. The family life education must be spreaded and activated in the way of family welfare service, as to improve the quality of life, while reducing social problems regarding to the boundary of family. So This study aims at investigating the level of aspiration out from the family life education and the fact-revealing of training program within the family life. To examine these matters, 356 married women living in Seoul were selected. The results are as follows family life education and the training program each other showed little relevance that merely $45{\%}$ attended the program. Life planning program for Elderly was mostly asked in the research of the degree of family life education program. Besides, many of them demanded for the family care program for those who have divorced, remarried or adopted the child, showing their active will to solve them which have been dealt quite privately. Family life education is dealing with the current problem solving and future life planning. In this regard, it is strongly needed to experience and learn the dynamics of family life for lifetimes. Systemic family life education must be accomplished to solve, prevent and to cope with family problems.
