The diversity of scuticociliates (subclass Scuticociliatia Small, 1967) had previously been superficially investigated in Korea and only 10 species were reported according to the National Species List of Korea published in 2019. Here, we identify four scuticociliates, collected from three coastal water samples, by observing protargol-impregnated specimens. As a result, the present species belong to the order Pleuronematida Fauré-Fremiet in Corliss, 1956 and their lower taxonomic classifications are as follows: family Eurystomatellidae Miao et al., 2010 - Eurystomatella sinica Miao et al., 2010; family Pleuronematidae Kent, 1881 - Pleuronema grolierei Wang et al., 2008, P. setigerum Calkins, 1902, and Schizocalyptra aeschtae Long et al., 2007. The family Eurystomatellidae and the genus Schizocalyptra Dragesco, 1968 are reported for the first time in Korea. Considering that the scuticociliates are a species-rich group and very common in most habitats(including freshwater and terrestrial habitats), our findings indicate that we are far from understanding the complete diversity of Korean scuticociliates.

In our ongoing efforts to explore the species diversity of the harpacticoid fauna in Korea, we present findings on four newly identified species from family Tegastidae Sars, 1904. Although this family is frequently encountered in phytal communities, the diversity of tegastid copepod species within Korean waters largely remains to be elucidated. Drawing from our collections of tegastid harpacticoids from Chuja-do and Geomun-do Islands, we provide morphological descriptions for Tegastes lobus sp. nov., T. tresetosus sp. nov., T. pilosus sp. nov., and Syngastes acutus sp. nov., and propose their taxonomic relationships in relation to other species within the genus. Finally, we update the list of tegastid harpacticoids found in Korea and provide a key for identifying the six confirmed species from this region.

This study attempted to develop integrated family policy. For this purpose, a delphi survey was conducted twice among 15 professionals regarding the general contents of family policy, the goals and outcomes of president Roh's administration, the direction and plan of action for future family policy. The results of this study are as follows: Firstly, the main results of president Roh's administration were the creation of the Ministry of Women and Families, and the Healthy Families Law. Nevertheless, that government had no long-term vision or action programs. Secondly, there are two aspects of family policy which one is family members based and the other is family life cycle based. Accordingly the subjects of this study insist that family policy has to cover people's whole life, all families regardless of family structure, and has to integrate the plans and programs which have been served to individuals, for example, women, child, youth, and elderly. Thirdly, the orientations of future family policy are to be toward happiness, health, equality, coexistence, harmony, growth, generosity, diversity, self-control, and a sustainable society. So the concept of the integrated family policy has to cover all aspects of the family and the diversity of family life. Therefore, the service delivery system for family policy has to converge into the Healthy Family Center.

This study performed to develop a basic framework of adolescent's perceptions about multicultural families, the children of multicultural families, the impacts of cultural exchange on cultural diversity, and multicultural efficacy. The participants were 368 students from four high schools in the Seoul area. The data were analysyed by ANOVA, Duncan-test, and multiple regression. The results revealed significant differences; perceptions of the multicultural family was the highest among those who believed the perceptions would increase, while the lowest among those believing to decrease. Perceptions of multicultural efficacy showed significant differences in thought about education for understanding other country people, the multi media experiences of multicultural families, knowledge about the multiculture, and thought about an increasing number of multicultural families. There were significant correlations among perceptions about the multicultural family, the children in the multicultural family, the impacts of cultural exchange on cultural diversity, and efficacy of the multicultural environment.

During an investigation of unrecorded prokaryotic species in Korea, six unrecorded bacterial strains were isolated from soil samples collected from Uljin-gun. Based on a similarity search using the 16S rRNA gene sequence of the isolated strains and the construction of the neighbor-joining phylogenetic tree, five strains were identified to the genus Pseudomonas of the family Pseudomonadaceae, while one strain was identified as a species belonging to the genus Paenibacillus of the family Paenibacillaceae. The details of these unreported species, including gram staining reaction, colony and cell morphology, basic biochemical characteristics, strain ID, and isolation source, are described in the description of the strains.

The Ulvophyceae are a diverse group and most species are distributed in marine environments, however, a smaller diversity occurs in freshwater and terrestrial habitats. Also, the diversity of species belonging to Ulvophyceae has been superficially investigated in Korea. Here, we identify two freshwater ulvophycean species based on the morphology, ultrastructural observation, and phylogenetic analysis. As a result, their taxonomic classifications are as follows: order Ulvales Blackman and Tansley, 1902 - family Kornmanniaceae Golden and Cole, 1986 - Lithotrichon pulchrum Darienko and Proschold 2017; order Ulotrichales Borzi, 1895 - family Tupiellaceae Skaloud and Leliaert, 2018 - Tupiella speciosa Darienko and Proschold 2017. The family Tupiellaceae and the two genera Lithotrichon and Tupiella are reported for the first time in Korea.

This study investigated trends in university students' acceptance of family diversity, familism, family strengths. Participants in this study were 388 university students (193 male, 195 female). The major findings were as follows: Respondents' recognition of family concept is modified from traditional family notion to modern conception. The general trends regarding the level of familism showed that males' level was higher than females'. The respondents' family strength was influenced by a blood permanency of father, family priority, reverence for parent and the tie that bind child, functional perceptions of family. The most important variable in terms of influence on university students' family strength was that of familism. These results implied that the familism was partly influential to family strengths.

본 논문의 목적은 질적 연구방법 패러다임의 중요한 특성들을 살펴보고 이러한 연구방법을 어떻게 우리 나라 가족치료 분야에 적용할 수 있을 것인가를 분석하는 것이다. 먼저 질적 연구방법의 일반적 특성과 연구설계의 전형적인 특징들이 기술된다. 둘째, 가족치료 분야에서의 질적 연구방법의 의미와 적절성 그리고 이의 구체적 적용방법과 관련된 내용들이 논의된다. 셋째, 가족치료 분야에서 질적 연구방법을 수행할 때 고려되어야 할 핵심적 이슈들이 검토된다. 질적 연구방법은 가족치료를 총체적으로 볼 수 있게 하는 체계적이고 과학적인 방법을 제공한다. 이러한 연구방법은 가족치료 분야에 새로운 조사연구 패러다임을 추가하고 이를 통해 가족치료의 다양성을 증가시킬 수 있다. 또한 가족구조와 현실의 총체적 표현이 가능한 다양한 질적 연구방법들은 가족형태와 경험의 복잡성과 다양성을 검토하는데 도움을 준다. 따라서 질적 연구방법은 가족치료의 과학 및 실천을 향상시킬 잠재성을 지니고 있고 가족치료 연구자는 질적 연구방법을 향상시킬 잠재성을 지니고 있다. 결론적으로 우리 나라 가족치료 분야에서의 질적 연구방법의 발전을 위한 합의를 제시한다.

고객의 요구에 대한 빠른 대응과 유연하고 효율적으로 새로운 제품을 적기에 개발하기 위해서는 제품 플랫폼에 기초한 대량 맞춤이 절실히 요구된다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 기업들은 상대적으로 생산비용을 낮게 유지하면서 대량생산의 이점을 유지하고 동시에 고객의 요구사항을 만족시키기 위해, product family를 도입하고 가능하면 작은 변화를 통하여 제품의 다양성을 유지하고자 한다. Product family를 설계할 때 중요한 이슈는 제품의 공통성과 차별성간의 절충점을 어떻게 찾아낼 것인가인데, 이를 위하여 개발된 것이 product family내에서 평가하는 방법이다. 본 연구에서는 product family의 공통성을 평가하기 위해 개발된 대표적인 7가지의 방법을 여러가지 측면에서 비교분석한다. 이를 위하여 두 개 회사의 컴퓨터 마우스 제품군을 대상으로 공통성 평가를 위한 비교연구를 수행하였다. 추가적으로 본 연구에서는 product family를 설계하거나 재설계할 때 공통성 평가지 수의 효과적이고 효율적인 사용방안을 위한 전략도 제시하였다.

A newly recorded species of gammaridean amphipod, Synopia (Telsosynopia) trifidilla Hughes and Lowry, 2006 belonging to the family Synopiidae Dana, 1853 was collected from the southern Korean coasts. Synopia (Telsosynopia) trifidilla Hughes and Lowry is characterized by the entire telson with a trifid apical margin. The species is described and fully illustrated in the present study. This is the first record of the family Synopiidae from Korea.
