After the Fukushima nuclear accident, a new power supply using a lithium polymer battery has been proposed the first time in the world as the safety of the emergency battery facility has been required. It is required to have the safety of the rack system in which the battery device is installed in order to apply the proposed technology to the field. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the seismic performance of string and rack frame for lithium-polymer battery devices developed for the first time in the world to satisfy 72 hours capacity. (1) The natural frequency of the unit rack system was 9 Hz, and the natural frequency before and after the earthquake load did not change. This means that the connection between members is secured against the design earthquake load. (2) he vibration reduction effect by string design was about 20%. (3) As a result of the seismic performance test under OBE and SSE conditions, the rack frame system was confirmed to be safe. Therefore, the proposed rack system can be applied to the nuclear power plant because the rack system has been verified structural safety to the required seismic forces.
Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) are using widely as a useful technique mainly in the field of electrochemical for the analysis of electrode reactions or characteristics of the composites. The response analysis of the systems technique provides comprehensive informations about the characteristic and structure of complex and internal reaction. The EIS is the method to measure impedance of the measurement target classified by the frequency, it select the equivalent impedance model to give same response from the result and it calculate the parameter. Therefore, the chemical reaction inside the fuel cell is to modeling to electrical impedance. And as repeating the same experiment in each of the operating point, we can get each different parameter. As a result, we can establish the equivalent impedance model in each operating point. Therefore, if we use these models, we can evaluate the fuel cell without the internal design parameter of the fuel cell as required in existing modeling. The EIS is used typically technique for distinguish status of fuel cell called SOH(State Of Health). When the fuel cell is degradation, Efficiency and health of the fuel cell is reduced because internal impedance is increase. As usage of these principles, we can evaluate state of fuel cell through the impedance analysis of fuel cells. In this study, we are presents EIS distinction system and algorithm for residential fuel cell systems. At the time of the fuel cell installation in the fields, the EIS system and proposed algorithm will be able to apply as technique for efficiency and performance evaluation about fuel cell system.
As a preliminary study to quantify the measurement uncertainty of the Schmidt-Boelter type heat flux gauge, the present study has been conducted to evaluate the measurement error due to the calibration constant supported by manufacturer. Calibrations of heat flux gauges are performed at NIST Fire Research Division using a calibration facility with heat source of a 2000 W halogen-tungsten filament lamp and the calibration constant is obtained by comparing the response of the reference and a standard heat flux gauge at the same irradiance conditions. Calibration for heat flux gauges made by three different manufacturers is compared with their factory calibration constant. Relative error due to fluctuation of output signal from heat flux gauges does not exceed 1% of the mean value and the relative error between calibration of this study and factory calibration constant ranged from 1.5% to 14.3%. The present study shows that a continuous and periodic calibration is necessary for accurate heat flux measurement.

Objectives: This study was based on the occurrence of a coffee roasting process-related disorder(bronchiolitis obliterans; published by NIOSH in the US) among workers exposed to chemicals called diacetyl in a coffee processing facility. Flavorings added to coffee contain diacetyl and 2,3-pentanedione, all of which are subject to exposure in a number of food manufacturing processes, including coffee roasting, grinding, and packaging. Therefore, this study aims to review the toxicity to workers related to food processing and food additive manufacturing to prevent occupational diseases. Methods: We surveyed the related literature, domestic and international references, and the status of relevant domestic and foreign professional organizations. The present situation of workers was investigated by reviewing literature on the safety and health of workers in the coffee roasting process using domestic and foreign literature and presentations. Expert advisory opinions were reflected, and experts were consulted by participating in domestic and overseas academic conferences. Results: Most of the fragrance materials for coffee were harmful and hazardous substances according to the GHS classification, and research was carried out through a second external consultation. A literature review on the measurement of air pollutant emissions from coffee roasters and the estimation of air pollutant emissions during coffee roasting examined the characteristics of pollutants emitted during coffee roasting. Conclusions: Two chemicals identified as causing bronchiolitis obliterans in the coffee roasting process are believed to explain why the disease is difficult to treat. This information can be used effectively in the future prevention of this disease. Future studies should clearly identify the potential for toxicity of alpha-diketones and the bases of OELs in relation to the occurrence of obstructive bronchiolitis, including measurement of various organic compounds and alpha-diketones from ground coffee, as well as various coffee grinds and coffee bean varieties. In particular, it is necessary to clarify the current understanding of the dose-response relationship between alpha-diketone and lung disease in workers involved in coffee roasting.

Considering the contribution of industrial facilities to the national economy, securing operability against earthquakes is very important. However, the basic concept of current seismic design mainly allows ductile behavior of facilities against large-scale earthquakes and only considers structural safety for the purpose of preventing collapse. In order to secure the operability of industrial facilities, the level of seismic performance to maintain operability may vary depending on the structural behavior characteristics of the industrial facility, and a seismic design method is needed to satisfy this. In this study, a ground storage tanks Nonlinear seismic behavior characteristics(R-μ-T) were analyzed through nonlinear response history analysis, and based on this, a new reliability-based, performance-based seismic design method was proposed.
Purpose: This study was conducted to examine prerequisite-program performance of the hospital foodservice operation and develop measures for improvement of prerequisite-program performance. Methods: Data were collected through surveys administered to 168 hospital dieticians in the Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi-do, Daegu, and North Gyeongsang areas. Out of total questionnaires, 65 questionnaires were usable and the response rate was 38.7%. Statistical analyses were performed using the SPSS program (ver 20.0) for ${\chi}^2-test$ and one-way ANOVA. Results: According to the result of the prerequisite-program evaluation, the percentage of 'appropriate', 'needs to be improved', and 'inappropriate' was 44.6%, 47.7%, and 7.7%, respectively. The score for the 'inappropriate' group was significantly lower than that of the 'appropriate' group or 'needs to be improved' group on the food safety management (p < 0.001), preparation facility management (p < 0.001), water management (p < 0.001), and storage transportation management (p < 0.05) parts. Holding rate of foodservice facility and equipments in the 'appropriate' group were significantly higher than in the others on convection oven (p < 0.01), air conditioner (p < 0.01), three-compartment sink (p < 0.01), hot-holding equipment (p < 0.01), cold-holding equipment (p < 0.05), exclusive thawing refrigerator (p < 0.05), and sterilizer for sanitary shoes (p < 0.05) items. Conclusion: To improve the quality of hospital foodservice, foodservice managers and HACCP specialists should develop and implement a prerequisite-program and a HACCP plan considering the characteristics of the hospital foodservice operation.
Purpose: This study aims at preparing an external evacuation system by setting up situation that may occur outside buildings in case of large-scale fire at buildings such as multiuse facilities and presenting appropriate response procedures and action instructions for evacuees and facility managers. Method: Major matters are summarized based on various situations which may occur outside in case of fire and the contents of fire manual. Necessary factors including risk alert standards in the event of fire and the role of building occupants are classified and then important issues are summarized. In addition, the definition of fire-related outside shelters and external evacuation routes are showed, and then the applicability to the shelters and the routes are reviewed for old apartments in Jung-gu among multi-dense facilities. Result: Four stages (attention, caution, alert, serious) for standards of fire risk warning are established with the results of the investigation and analysis, and guidelines for behavior for evacuees, facility owners, residents, managers are summarized and presented. In addition, the concept and role of external shelters are divided into primary to the third shelters, and matters related to the definition of each shelter and the establishment of evacuation routes are presented, and then considered them carefully. Conclusion: This study has highlighted the importance of suggesting a systematic plan to secure the safety for evacuees outside space of buildings with disorder and difficulty to control in the event of fire. Therefore, we are confident that it will be useful in making an integrated manual for inside and outside buildings.

In recent years, the service life of major SOC facilities in south korea has exceeded 30 years, and rapid aging is expected within the next 10 years. This has led to a growing recognition of the need for proactive maintenance of these facilities. Consequently, there have been numerous research efforts to introduce smart inspection technologies into maintenance. However, the current system relies primarily on manpower for safety inspections and diagnostics, and on-site surveys rely on visual inspections. Manpower inspections can be time-consuming, and subjective errors may occur during result analysis. In the case of tunnels, there are disadvantages, such as the loss of social overhead capital due to partial closures during inspections. Therefore, institutionalizing smart safety inspections is essential, considering specific measures like using advanced equipment and updating qualifications for experts. Furthermore, it is necessary to verify and validate safety inspection results using advanced equipment before instituting changes. This could be achieved through national-level official research programs and the operation of verification and validation institutions. If smart inspection technology is introduced into maintenance, routine inspections of SOC facilities, such as tunnels, will become feasible. As a result, maintenance technology capable of early detection and proactive response to safety incidents caused by changes in facility conditions is anticipated.
Characteristics of element responses of Panasonic UD802 personnel dosimeters in the X, ${\beta}$, ${\gamma}$, ${\gamma}/X$, ${\gamma}/{\beta}$ and ${\gamma}$/neutron mixed fields were assessed. A dose-response algorithm has been developed to decide the high probability of a radiation type and energy by using the distribution in all six ratios of the multi-element TLD. To calculate the 4-element response factors and ratios between the elements of the Panasonic TLDs in the X, $\beta$, and $\gamma$ radiation fields, Panasonic’s UD802 TLDs were irradiated with KINS’s reference irradiation facility. In the photon radiation field, this study confirms that element-3 (E3) and element-4 (E4) of the Panasonic TLDs show energy dependent both in low- and intermediate-energy range, while element-1 (E1) and element-2 (E2) show little energy dependency in the entire whole range. The algorithm, which was developed in this study, was applied to the Panasonic personnel dosimetry system with UD716AGL reader and UD802 TLDs. Performance tests of the algorithm developed was conducted according to the standards and criteria recommended in the ANSI N13.11. The sum of biases and standard deviations was less than 0.232. The values of biases and standard deviations are distributed within a triangle of a lateral value of 0.3 in the ordinate and abscissa, With the above algorithm, Panasonic TLDs satisfactorily perform optimum dose assessment even under an abnormal response of the TLD elements to the energy imparted. This algorithm can be applied to a more rigorous dose assessment by distinguishing an unexpected dose from the planned dose for the most practical purposes, and is useful in conducting an effective personnel dose control program.

As pedestrian deaths account for a high proportion of traffic accident deaths in Korea, interest in pedestrian safety is growing. In particular, it is necessary to develop various pedestrian-centered traffic signal operation techniques to improve the pedestrian environment at signal intersections. Therefore, in this study, a method for time-of-day operating a pedestrian signal based on residual pedestrians was studied. To this end, the pedestrian signal operation technique in response to the pedestrian demand, which is operated by extending the pedestrian signal time only during the time when the pedestrian demand and the number of remaining pedestrians increase, was applied to the field. The difference in safety according to the application of the new pedestrian signal operation technique was statistically analyzed. As a result of the analysis, the residual pedestrian rate decreased by 20% (3.3 people) before application and 8% (1.4 people) after application, and the residual pedestrian rate in the crosswalk at the time of red signal decreased by 12% (1.9 people), And it was analyzed that the position of the residual pedestrian decreased by 3.3m from 5.2m before application to 1.9m after application.
