  • Crown-type implant-assisted removable partial dentures (CIRPDs) can be a feasible treatment option for partially edentulous patients. Here we report a case with remaining unilateral mandibular teeth. Two implants were placed in the posterior portion of the mandible using a surgical guide, and a distal-extension removable partial denture with implant-supported surveyed crowns was fabricated. After 12 months, both the abutment teeth and implants were in good condition. The treatment outcomes were satisfactory in terms of masticatory function and esthetics. The advantages of CIRPDs and considerations for obtaining successful clinical outcomes with these dentures are also discussed.

  • In severe cases of denture stomatitis, antifungal drugs are sometimes ineffective. This case is a 72-year-old patient who was prescribed fluconazole for five months but had no improvement in symptoms. After re-diagnosis, medication was performed, and temporary dentures were fabricated for oral rehabilitation. This report describes that microbiological analysis and adjuvant therapy can be helpful, in case does not improve symptoms even with continuous medication of antifungal agent.

  • Organic light-emitting device have attracted much interest due to their potential application in large area, full color, flat panel displays. Poly(p-phenylene)(PPP), as a blue light-emitting materials, have studied in our previous report. Thus, we selected poly(p-phenylene) (PPP) to fabricate the organic light-emitting filaments(OLEF) [1-2]. In this paper, we fabricated an organic light-emitting filaments(OLEF), which can be woven into fabric. The key concept was flexibility in one-dimensional structures. (omitted)

  • This paper, the hardness of the silicone rubber wire for 50, 60 degrees, 70 degrees High Temperature Vulcanizing (HTV) method using specimens were fabricated. In this paper, in order to investigate the dielectric properties of silicone rubber for wire specimens, the temperature range of $30^{\circ}C{\sim}170^{\circ}C$, the frequency range from 100Hz~4.5MHz report surveyed about the frequency and temperature dependent properties.

  • Optical disk drives read information by replacing a laser beam on the disk track. As information has become larger, the more accurate position control of a laser beam is necessary. In this paper, we report the analysis and fabrication of the micro mirror for optical disk drivers. The mirror was fabricated by using MEMS technology and it's characteristics investigated. Also, electrode structure for reducing squeeze effect was discussed.

  • We report a method for improving heat exchange between cryo-cooled large-power-dissipation devices and liquid cryogen. Micro-machined monolithic heat sinks were fabricated on a high integration density superconducting Josephson device, and studied for their effect on cooling the device. The monolithic heat sink showed a significant enhancement of cooling capability, which markedly improved the device operation under large dc- and microwave power dissipation. The detailed mechanism of the enhancement still needs further modeling and experiments in order to optimize the design of the heat sink.

  • In this paper, we report an experimental study of a linear polarization-discriminatory state inverter made of three-layer sculpture thin film fabricated by glancing angle deposition technique. The first and third layers are quarter-wave plates of zigzag structure and the middle of them is a circular Bragg reflector of left-handed helical structure.

  • We report on a ridge waveguide laser diode with laterally tapered waveguides fabricated in a single growing step using a double patterning method. In this structure, nearly constant output power is obtained with the change of the lower tapered waveguide width, and the facet power ratio of 1.4 to 1.5 is observed over the current range. The asymmetric facet power property is also investigated.

  • Maxillofacial prosthodontics is an art and science which provides life like appearance to the person with facial deformity. Maxillofacial prosthetic rehabilitation for acquired defects has become more complex and sophisticated with advancement in techniques and materials. This case report describes the clinical and laboratory procedure for fabricating an auricular prosthesis for a patient with trauma related bilateral auricular deformity. Ear prosthesis was fabricated in two parts taking retention from external auditory canal.
