This study has been investigated the Influence of layer thickness on the mechanical properties of cross laminated carbon fiber/epoxy composites. And also the difference of mechanical properties between cross laminated composites of unidirectional prepreg and fabric prepreg has been investigated. Experimental results are showed that the Interlamina Shear Strength(ILSS) of cross laminated carbon fiber/epoxy composites decreased with increasing thickness of unit ply and the decree of delamination in the laminated composites increased as ILSS decreased. Fracture toughness and impact values were found to increase as delamination occurs to some extent in the laminated composites. It Is also shown thats mechanical properties of cross laminates from unidirectional prepreg were better than those of cross laminates from fabric prepreg.
This study was conducted to develop fabrics using non-toxic and eco-friendly natural dyes made from curcuma and coffee extract. The natural dyes were applied to non-printed cotton fabrics using the dip dyeing method, and the pattern was hand-printed onto the dyed fabrics to make dyed printed-fabrics. The four types of developed fabric samples were compared to analyze the effects of the dyeing materials and printing on the hygienic properties of curcuma- and coffee-dyed fabrics. The findings were as follows. First, air permeability of both curcuma- and coffee-dyed fabrics was greatly affected by the presence of patterns, although the type of dye did not seem to have an effect. Printing greatly reduced air permeability of the fabric, and coffee-dyed fabric showed greater reduction of dyeing method than curcuma-dyed fabric. Moisture regain also tended to decrease with printing, but the change was much smaller compared to air permeability. Second, increased UV blockage was observed in curcuma- and coffee-dyed fabrics with patterns compared to non-printed fabrics, showing that printing enhanced UV blocking. Third, deodorization rate tended to increase sharply for both curcuma- and coffee-dyed fabrics until 30 minutes and gradually increased thereafter to yield 30% for curcuma and 50% for coffee at 120 minutes, demonstrating higher deodorization of coffee dye. Coffee-dyed fabric showed an antibacterial rate about twice as high as that of curcuma-dyed fabric, and the observed data suggest that curcuma-dyed fabric had an insignificant level of antibiosis. Fourth, printing significantly enhanced wash, sunlight, and compound colorfastness of the two types of dyed fabrics. The effect of printing was most dramatic on sunlight and compound colorfastness, which are aspects in which natural dyed fabrics perform poorly in general. Eventually, the development and application of biologically- and environmentally-friendly fabrics with natural dyes correspond with increased interest towards the wellness and healthy attitudes of modern society.
This paper considers the moisture permeability and fashion in the upper fabrics of cotton fabric shoes woven into various tissues and properties measured to examine the use as upper fabrics. We measured the tissues of the manufactured upper fabric are 1/3 twill, $4{\times}4$ weft rib, Maya, Triple, Deformed twill design (DTD), Diamond tissues and tear strength, tensile strength, breaking elongation, stretching under load at 100N, stitch tear resistance, and fastness. In the case of $4{\times}4$ weft rib, the tear strength and tensile strength were excellent; however, the elongation and stitch tear resistance at 100N load were less than the standard value. DTD fabrics are characterized by physical properties in the warp direction that are superior to those in the weft direction; however, the tear strength and tensile strength in the weft direction are less than the standard value. The 1/3 twill fabrics showed high tensile strength value and stitch tear resistance value in the warp direction; however, toughness, the main property of the shoe upper, was below the standard value. Triple and diamond fabrics, which have a significant effect on the performance of the shoe upper fabric, also had less than the standard value of tear strength. Maya upper fabric for shoes has better properties than other upper fabrics except for the elongation at break, and the stitch tear resistance has a value of 178% in the warp direction and 214% in the weft direction compared to the standard value. Therefore, the Maya fabric showed the possibility of being used as an upper textile for shoes.
The effect of cashmere yarn twist, knitted fabric density, and cashmere properties on pilling rates of cashmere knitted fabric is investigated in this paper. The experimental results show that yarn twist and fabric density have little influence on pilling rates of cashmere knitted fabric for yarn 38.4 tex/2 when yarn twist varies from 234 T/m to 272 T/m, and the fabric density is 9.7, 10.7, and 11.2 yarns/inch, respectively. The length of cashmere fiber, in particular less than 7.5 mm, is responsible for the pilling rates of cashmere knitted fabric based on optimal scaling regression analysis.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the dyeing-property and antibacterial activity on nylon fabric dyed with cochineal at variable dyeing conditions. Al, Cr, Fe, Cu and Sn were used as mordants and adsorption was compared with different mordanting methods. The maximum UV-visible absorption band of cochineal extract was 495 nm. The dyeability on nylon fabric was good because of having a amine group. The optimum dyeing conditions of nylon fabrics are dyeing concentration 1.5%(o.w.s), dyeing temperature $60^{\circ}C$, pH 3 and dyeing time 30 minutes. The pre-mordanting method is preferred for Al and Cr, and the post-mordanting one is preferred for Cu, Sn and Fe to achieve better dyeing. The optimum mordanting conditions of wool fabrics dyed with cochineal are mordanting concentration of 0.5%(o.w.s), mordanting temperature $60^{\circ}C$, and dyeing time 30 minutes. Nylon fabrics dyed with cochineal show a little antibacterial activity, but it was increased by Sn mordanting. MIC test results in antibacterial activities revealed that the antibacterial activity of Cu was the highest among mordants, but Sn mordant was the most effective in antibacterial activities after mordanting treatment of nylon fabric. The fastness properties of dyed nylon fabric showd a little worse or a similar level and there was no significant difference between a mordanted and non-mordanted fabric.
This research investigated the physical properties of PET coolness filaments and their knitted fabrics including dyeing characteristics of these knitted fabrics according to the different dyeing time and temperature. The coolness filament(S) with non-circular cross-section and hydrophilic property was spun and another commercialized coolness(A) and regular(R) PET filaments were prepared for comparing coolness and another physical properties. Qmax of coolness knitted fabric made with S filament was higher than that of R-PET filament, and the maximum value of Qmax of S knitted fabric was shown at the dyeing conditions of temperature, $110^{\circ}C$ with 30 min. or 40min. It was shown that hand of S knitted fabric was a little harsh comparing to A and regular knit specimens, but shape retention and wearing performance of garment made with S knit specimen were estimated as good owing to high bending and shear rigidity. K/S of S knitted fabric was higher than those of regular PET and A knit specimens. Dyeing fastness of coolness knitted fabric showed between 4th and 5th grade.
In this study, the effect of shrink-resist treatment agent on the wool finishing, specifically anti-felting of wool product was studied. We aimed at providing preliminary data leading to the diversification of high-value added fashionable wool product. Two type of wool fabrics, dense and sheer, were employed. The fabric specimens were treated with solutions of shrink-resist treatment agent with wet pick-up rate 110%, 130%, and 150%, respectively, by using a padding mangle. The solution treated fabric specimens were then dried at room temperature first, at $90^{\circ}C$ for 15 minutes in a drying oven, and finally cured at $130^{\circ}C$ for 3 minutes. Cured wool fabric specimens were then subjected to a felting process. The physical and mechanical properties, including shrinkage rate along warp/filling direction, thickness at specified measurement pressure, drape stiffness, and air-permeability, were analyzed. After felting process, the shrinkage rates of wool fabric specimens, treated with shrink-resist treatment agent, were lower than those of control wool fabric specimens. The stiffness values of wool fabric specimens measured by using Flexometer were increased.

To explore the potential use of Ecklonia cava as a natural dye for textiles, silk fabric was dyed with Ecklonia cava extracted by hot water under varied conditions, including temperature, duration, dye concentration, mordanting, and pH adjustment. The fabric was also evaluated for fastness, sun-protective property, and deodorization. Ecklonia cava extract was estimated by FT-IR to have polyphenol as a main functional colorant in plants, while the existence of phlorotannins through the UV-spectrum method was also confirmed. The fabric was optimized for maximum dye uptake at a temperature of 80℃ for a duration of 50 minutes along all dye concentrations. The dyed fabric showed a hue of Yellow Red under all dyeing conditions while additional color tones, such as grayish and dark, were generated through mordanting and pH adjustment. Both good sun-protective properties and a positive deodorization rate were also recorded, with more than 20% (owf) Ecklonia cava extract on silk fabric. These results imply that Ecklonia cava has great potential to be used as an eco-friendly natural dye and in fashion goods with skin-health functions made of silk.

This study defined the changes of mechanical properties of silk fabric according to bias angles and investigated the influence of bias angles and fabric characteristics on hand value. For the experiments, 4 types of commercial silk plain weave fabrics were chosen. All fabrics had the same density, but different yarn characteristics. Fabric samples were cut into 12 different bias angles between $0^{\circ}$ and $165^{\circ}$ with $15^{\circ}$ gap and measured for tensile, shear, bending, surface properties by the KES-FB system. As a result, most mechanical parameters showed an asymmetry shape with $90^{\circ}$. The most flexible and easiest angles are $45^{\circ}$, $135^{\circ}$. Furthermore, the bias angles of silk fabrics were classified into three clusters with mechanical properties such as WT, 2HG, 2HG5, B, and SMD. The parameters according to fabric samples showed significant differences at WT, RT, B, 2HB, and MIU. It showed bigger effects as yarn fineness; in addition, twists were higher except RT. The results of hand value indicated that Koshi and Hari were highest with a bias angle of $75^{\circ}$; however, Shinayakasa was highest at bias angle of $45^{\circ}$. Finally, Shari was lowest at $45^{\circ}$.
