Fluid-Structure Interaction Analysis of High Aspect Ratio Wing for the Prediction of Aero-elasticity (유체-구조 연계 해석기법을 이용한 세장비가 큰 비행체 날개의 공탄성 해석)

  • For the safety of aircraft and accuracy of bombs, many companies have researched the new concept of adaptive kit to flying-bombs. For the long distance flying, it's normally used deployed high-aspect ratio wing because of limited volume. The probabilities of large elastic deformation and flutter are increased due to decreased stiffness of high-aspect ratio wing. In this paper, computational fluid dynamics and computational structure dynamics interaction methodology are applied for prediction of aerodynamic characteristics. FLUENT and ABAQUS are used to calculate fluid and structural dynamics. Code-bridge was made base on the compactly supported radial basis function to execute interpolation and mapping. There are some differences between rigid body and fluid-structure interaction analysis which are results of aerodynamics characteristics due to structural deformation. Small successive vibration was observed by interaction.

  • The purpose of this study is to obtain basic data on the optimization of firing process conditions for enamel coating in chemical heat exchanger. The method of increasing the firing temperature in order to apply enamel coating to shell & tube type heat exchanger was examined. The temperature distribution of the heat exchanger in the firing kiln was numerically calculated using a commercial CFD program. The structural safety of the heat exchanger was confirmed by thermal stress analysis using the FSI method. Numerical analysis and experimental results show that there is a problem of safety due to temperature difference when the heat exchanger at room temperature is directly put into a firing kiln at 860℃. Therefore, a preheating process is need to reduce the temperature difference. As in Case2 with fewer firing steps, the first stage preheating temperature of 445℃and the second stage firing temperature of 860 ℃are considered to be most suitable.

  • In the study, the inner flow characteristics were analyzed by modifying the inner design parameter of the vane-type vacuum pump. The effect of pressure generated by the inner flow of pump on the rotor and vane was analyzed. The design parameter was analyzed using the angle variation of tilting and rotation of the vane. MRF was used for the analysis conducted using a virtual condition where the rotor and vane are rotated. The pressure gained from the load of the rotor and vane in the flow analysis is used for the structure analysis. Based on the results, the effect of variable vane design was revealed in structural strength. The effect of centrifugal and friction force generated during pump operation on structural strength was also analyzed.

  • As the cargo tank size and configuration of Liquefied Natural Gas carriers(LNGC) grows in response to the global increase in demands for LNG and the necessities of its economical transportation, impact loading from sloshing may become one of the most important factors in the structural safety of LNG Cargo Containment Systems(CCS). The objective of this study is to demonstrate the procedure of the structural safety assessment of MARK III membrane type CCS under sloshing impact loading using local zooming analysis technique of LS-DYNA code.

  • A micromechanical resonance sensor detects the resonance frequency shift due to mass or adsorption induced surface stress change during molecular adsorption or interaction on its surface. The resonance sensor is surrounded by gas or liquid solution during operation. To study the resonance shift phenomena depending on its surrounding environment, fluid-structure interaction of the resonance sensor has been analyzed for the different fluid environment and boundary conditions using finite element analysis.

  • In this study, a numerical analysis has been performed for a three-dimensional pulsatile blood flow associated with the elastic blood vessel and curved bileaflet for multiple cycles in terms of fluid-structure interaction. Here, blood has been assumed as a Newtonian, incompressible fluid. Pressure profiles have been used as boundary conditions at the ventricle and the aorta. From this analysis, the motion of the leaflet has been observed with fluttering phenomenon and rebound, and the flow fields of blood have been obtained with recirculation and regurgitation. The results can contribute to the development of design methodology for the curved bileaflet mechanical heart valve.

  • Recently, the importance of analytical techniques related to food safety is emerging in the food industry due to changes in diet patterns, environmental changes, climate change and consumer's interest in food safety. In particular, food safety accidents in the food industry may cause economic losses such as media reports, product recalls, consumer distrust, and so on. Therefore, a systematic, proactive and comprehensive food safety management system is increasingly required to prevent food safety issues. Efforts to ensure the reliability of food safety are essential by introducing various analysis instruments such as LC, GC, ICP, LC/MS/MS, GC/MS/MS, ICP/MS, PCR, and RT-PCR. In addition, recent food safety analytical techniques used in food industry should be shifted paradigm by developing multi-component simultaneous analytical method, low cost with high efficient analytical method, and eco-friendly method.

  • Nutrition through food is a very important life support activity for humans in maintaining a healthy life. Nevertheless, there is no absolute safe food. In the Modern Food Law, risk analysis developed as an alternative to food safety. However, the Korean Food Sanitation Act introduced risk analysis, but many problems have arisen because the right risk concept is not reflected. To solve the problem, it is necessary to reflect the exact concept of the risk. According to our Food Sanitation Act, risks are used as risk, hazard, and harmful according to the context. The study pointed out these problems and suggested a variety of comparative legal and realistic alternatives.

  • A micro fluid actuator driven by electromagnetic force at MEMS(Micro Electro Mechanical System) level has been designed. The operation of the actuator was simulated in three steps. First, fluid flow analysis has been performed to determine the actuator load. With the load, dynamic behavior of the actuator structure has been analysed. Finally, fluid-structure interaction analysis has been performed to predict the performance of the actuator. To avoid excessive amount of computation, axisymmetric and plane strain 2-D models were used.

  • It is necessary to develop highly sophisticated Modeling & Simulation (M&S) system for the scientific investigation of marine accident causes and for the systematic reproduction of accidental damage procedure. To ensure an accurate and reasonable prediction of marine accidental causes, such as collision, grounding and flooding, full-scale ship M&S simulations would be the best approach using hydrocode, such as LS-DYNA code, with its Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) analysis technique. The objectivity of this paper is to present three full-scale ship collision, grounding and flooding simulation results of marine accidents, and to show the possibility of the scientific investigation of marine accident causes using highly sophisticated M&S system.
