A Study on Image inpainting using Mean-Shift Algorithm (Mean-Shift Algorithm을 이용한 Image inpainting에 관한 연구)

  • 오늘날 컴퓨터의 발달과 인터넷의 확산으로 멀티미디어 컨텐츠의 보급이 급격히 확대되고 있으며, 이들 컨텐츠에는 원거리 화상회의, 감시시스템, 주문형 비디오(VOD), 주문형 뉴스(NOD), 디지털 편집 시스템 등 동영상이 포함되어 있다. 이처럼 동영상은 정보교환과 정보표현의 매개물로서 중요한 역할을 한다. 그러나 이와 같은 동영상은 노이즈나 전송과정 중 발생하는 문제 등으로 인해 항상 좋은 품질을 보장되지 않는다. 이런 훼손된 영상을 원영상으로 복원하거나 사용자가 제거 혹은 복원하고자 하는 영역을 지정 처리함으로서 다양한 정보를 획득할 수 있다. 일반적으로 pc에서 사용되어지는 대부분의 동영상은 $15fps{\sim}30fps$이다. 대부분의 동영상 편집 기술은 각각의 frame을 추출하여 수동적으로 처리하므로 비용과 시간이 많이 든다. 이런 단점을 해결하기 위해 여러 방법이 기존에 시도되고 있다. 제거 혹은 복원하고자 하는 영역을 전 frame에서 처리하기 위해 움직임 검출 및 추적기법이 사용되며, 제거 혹은 복원하기 위해 median filtering, image inpainting 처리 방법들이 있다. 본 연구에서는 사용자에 의해 미리 정의된 바운딩 박스내의 객체를 추적하여 객체의 중심값을 찾는 mean-shift algorithm을 이용하여 움직이는 객체를 추적하였고 image Inpainting algorithm을 이용하여 훼손된 영역을 복원하거나 제거하고자 하는 객체를 제거하였다.

Distance-based SAP Algorithm for Effective Collision Detection (효율적인 충돌 검출을 위한 거리 기반 SAP 알고리즘)

  • The collision processing is one of the essential factors to realize physical principles in the game, and it gives liveliness to the game. The collision processing requires a large amount of operations, and significantly affects the game performance. To address this problem, many studies have been conducted to reduce the operation volume, and the SAP algorithm is being widely used. However, its efficiency is low because it involves repetitive operations. In this study, a distance-based SAP algorithm was proposed to reduce the operation volume for the collision processing and address the problem of the SAP algorithm. A test was conducted to measure the FPS using the simulation program, which was developed with the proposed algorithm. The FPS was 2-33 times higher with the proposed algorithm, which indicated that the efficiency of the collision processing was improved.

  • In this letter, we investigate the impact of image downsampling on the performance of background subtraction in Full-HD soccer videos. To this end, we evaluated the performance of background subtraction in terms of both accuracy and computational time. Furthermore, for the sake of completeness, we used two different background subtraction methods under the same experimental setup. For the quantitative comparison, we employed the F-measure and FPS(frames per second). We believe that this study serves as a practically useful benchmark for researchers and practitioners in developing a fast background subtraction algorithm adopted for building real-time intelligent soccer video analysis systems.

  • This study analyzes the system of Loot Box in Overwatch, FPS genre game produced by an American company Blizzard. Currently, one of the most controversial issues in the recent industry is "Probability-Type Item" that game users purchase high-end game items as a form of lottery. As this study examines a foreign case of Loot Box that is similar to Probability-Type Item, it would show how it is constructed and does legal approaches. Throughout this, it not only analyzes pros and cons of the Loot Box system, but also provides thought-provoking messages for the issue of the Probability-Type Item.

  • A proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) produces only water at cathode by an electrochemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen. The generated water is transported across the membrane from the cathode to the anode. The transported water collected in water-trap and drained to the cathode within the humidifier outlet. If the condensate water is not being drained at the appropriate time, condensate water in the anode can cause the performance degradation or fuel efficiency degradation of fuel cell by the anode flooding or unnecessary hydrogen discharge. In this study, we proposed an optimization method of condensate water drain logic for the water drain performance and the water drain algorithm as considered the condensate water generating speed prep emergency case. In conclusion, we developed the water management strategy of fuel processing system (FPS) as securing fuel efficiency and operating stability.

  • 최근 디지털 당송과 이동통신 단말기의 대중화가 이루어짐에 따라 고화질 고해상도의 멀티미디어 컨텐츠의 이동통신 단말기에서의 재생 서비스에 대한 수요가 증가하고 있다 이동통신 단말기에서 멀티미디어 컨텐츠 재생 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 디지털 방송 컨텐츠를 단말기에 적합한 컨텐츠로 변환할 필요가 있다. 본 논문은 디지털 방송 규격인 MPEG-2 컨텐츠를 이동통신 단말기에서 지원하는 MPEG-4 SP(Simple Profile) 컨텐츠로 실시간으로 변환하는 트랜스 코더에 대한 설계와 구현 기술을 제안한다. 구현된 트래스코더는 화질 유지와 계산량 감소를 위한 적응적 움직임벡터 재구성, 매크로블록 모드 선택, 그리고 움직임벡터 scaling 등의 알고리즘을 포함하고, 인텔사에서 제공하는 SIMD(Single Instruction Multiple Data) 명령어를 이용하여 최적화되었다. 트랜스코더는 30fps, 8Mbps, $720\times480$ 해상도의 멀티미디어 컨텐츠를 다양한 비트율의 30fps, $352\times240$ 해상도의 MPEG-4 컨텐츠로 실시간 변환할 수 있다.

  • A realization for the wireless transmission system on the Un image using embedded server is presented on the paper to be simply to omni-direction data acquisition. The embedded system is composed of the image data acquisition which has CMOS sensor and lame grabber, the embedded server that takes the wireless LAN target board, and client part that is monitoring the image from the embedded server. The experiment result is average 12.7fps in 8bit on the 320$\times$240, 4:2:2 YCbCr. The system enable images transmission to be soft . monitoring.

  • An experimental and analytical study was performed to apply the friction pendulum system (FPS) to the main control room of a nuclear power plant. A friction pendulum bearing was fabricated, and the dynamic response of the bearing was evaluated. A partial model of a main control room attached to the FPS was tested on the shake table. The model consisted of a cabinet, a $3m\times3m$ access floor, and four friction pendulum bearings. The artificial time history based on the floor response spectrum of the main control room was used as the earthquake input signal in the test. Comparisons between the analytical study and the experimental study were conducted to verify the results and to extend the experimental study to the range of parameters that could not be experimentally studied.

Monocular Camera based Real-Time Object Detection and Distance Estimation Using Deep Learning (딥러닝을 활용한 단안 카메라 기반 실시간 물체 검출 및 거리 추정)

  • This paper proposes a model and train method that can real-time detect objects and distances estimation based on a monocular camera by applying deep learning. It used YOLOv2 model which is applied to autonomous or robot due to the fast image processing speed. We have changed and learned the loss function so that the YOLOv2 model can detect objects and distances at the same time. The YOLOv2 loss function added a term for learning bounding box values x, y, w, h, and distance values z as 클래스ification losses. In addition, the learning was carried out by multiplying the distance term with parameters for the balance of learning. we trained the model location, recognition by camera and distance data measured by lidar so that we enable the model to estimate distance and objects from a monocular camera, even when the vehicle is going up or down hill. To evaluate the performance of object detection and distance estimation, MAP (Mean Average Precision) and Adjust R square were used and performance was compared with previous research papers. In addition, we compared the original YOLOv2 model FPS (Frame Per Second) for speed measurement with FPS of our model.

Detecting Digital Micromirror Device Malfunctions in High-throughput Maskless Lithography

  • Recently, maskless lithography (ML) systems have become popular in digital manufacturing technologies. To achieve high-throughput manufacturing processes, digital micromirror devices (DMD) in ML systems must be driven to their operational limits, often in harsh conditions. We propose an instrument and algorithm to detect DMD malfunctions to ensure perfect mask image transfer to the photoresist in ML systems. DMD malfunctions are caused by either bad DMD pixels or data transfer errors. We detect bad DMD pixels with $20{\times}20$ pixel by white and black image tests. To analyze data transfer errors at high frame rates, we monitor changes in the frame rate of a target DMD pixel driven by the input data with a set frame rate of up to 28000 frames per second (fps). For our data transfer error detection method, we verified that there are no data transfer errors in the test by confirming the agreement between the input frame rate and the output frame rate within the measurement accuracy of 1 fps.
