  • This paper is deal with the method of redesign for optimum thrust model using Neural-Networks in Permanent Magnet Linear Synchrous Motor(PMLSM). This method is saved time compared with design method using only Finite Element Method(FEM). In this paper data sets for training Neural-Networks obtained using 2D FEM. To confirm the validity of the data sets for training Neural-Networks optimum values of that Is compared with results of FEM. And then. this method is verified that it could be applied to the design for Slotless type PMLSM.

  • Electric machines such as motors which have moving parts are desgined for producing mechanical force or torque. The accurate calculation of electromagnetic force and torque is important in the design these machines, Electromagnetic force calculation method using the results of Finite Element Method(FEM) has been presented variously in 2-D problems. Typically the Maxwell's Stress Tensor method and the method of virtual work are used. In the problems including current source, magnetic vector potentials(MVP) have mostly been used as an unknown variables for field analysis by numerical method; e, g. FEM. This paper, thus, introduces both methods using MVP in 3-D case. To verify the usefulness of presented methods, a solenoid model is chosen and analyzed by 3-D and axisymmetrical FEM. In each case, the calculated force are tabulated for several mesh schemes.

직접설계법에 의한 박판부품의 초기형상설계 (Blank Design for Sheet Metal Product Based on Direct Design Method)

  • In order to improve trial-and-error based conventional practices for optimizing forming processes, a direct design method to guide iterative design practices, called the ideal forming theory, has been previously developed. In the theory, material elements are required to deform following the minimum Plastic work Path. The theory can be used to determine the ideal initial blank shape needed to best achieve a specified final shape while resulting in optimum strain distributions. In this work, the direct design method based on the ideal forming theory was applied to design initial design shape for VCR deck chassis. Based on the solution of the ideal forming theory, FEM analysis was utilized to evaluate an optimum blank shape to be formed without tearing. Simulation results are in good agreement with experimental data. It was shown that the proposed sequential design procedure based on direct design method and FEM can be successfully applied to optimize the die design Procedure of sheet metal forming processes.

  • This paper presents characteristics analysis of skewed Synchronous Reluctance Motor using equivalent magnetic circuit and compares with the result of Finite Element Method. Torque ripple must be reduced, because it is producing noise and vibration. There is many kinds of method to reduce torque ripple, but generally we apply skewing stator or rotor. The 2D Finite Element Method(FEM) or 3D FEM is used to analyze the motor, since skew influence the average torque in the motor. However, the FEM takes much time in spite of the advanced computer and numerical technique. This paper will analyze characteristics of skewed synchronous reluctance motor using equivalent magnetic circuit.

다구찌 실험법을 이용한 LPG 충전노즐 O-링 그루브의 최적화 설계연구 (Optimized Design of O-ring Groove in LPG Filling Unit Using Taguchi Experimental Method)

  • 본 논문은 다구찌 실험 설계법을 이용하여 O-링을 장착하는데 필요한 사각 그루브의 최적설계를 위해 FEM으로 최대코시응력과 최대변형률에 대하여 해석하였다. 다구찌 설계방법은 LPG 충전노즐의 내경측에 밀봉을 위해 설치하는 O-링 그루브의 설계변수를 최적화 하는데 대단히 유용하다. FEM과 함께 다구찌 설계기법을 적용하여 계산된 해석결과에 따르면, 최적화 설계치수를 단지 9번의 반복 실험법에 의해 설계변수의 치수를 최적의 조건으로 얻을 수 있다는 측면에서 간편한 최적설계 기술이다. 이것은 다구찌 설계 실험법이 사각형상의 O-링 그루브를 설계하는 간단한 방법으로 대단히 유용하다는 것이다. 다구찌 설계기법에 기초한 해석결과에 의하면, O-링 그루브의 기하학적 형상에 대한 최적치수는 h=2.5mm, d=2.74 mm, c=0.15 mm, w=3.0 mm으로 각각 요약될 수 있다. 본 연구는 공급된 LPG 가스압력이 18 $kg/cm^2$인 상태에서 밀봉성과 안전성을 고려하면 초기압축률은 8.7%로 유지하는 것이 가장 효과적이라는 사실을 제공한다.

Extended-FEM for the solid-fluid mixture two-scale problems with BCC and FCC microstructures

  • An aim of the study is to develop an efficient numerical simulation technique that can handle the two-scale analysis of fluid permeation filters fabricated by the partial sintering technique of small spherical ceramics. A solid-fluid mixture homogenization method is introduced to predict the mechanical characters such as rigidity and permeability of the porous ceramic filters from the micro-scale geometry and configuration of partially-sintered particles. An extended finite element (X-FE) discretization technique based on the enriched interpolations of respective characteristic functions at fluid-solid interfaces is proposed for the non-interface-fitted mesh solution of the micro-scale analysis that needs non-slip condition at the interface between solid and fluid phases of the unit cell. The homogenization and localization performances of the proposed method are shown in a typical two-dimensional benchmark problem whose model has a hole in center. Three-dimensional applications to the body-centered cubic (BCC) and face-centered cubic (FCC) unit cell models are also shown in the paper. The 3D application is prepared toward the computer-aided optimal design of ceramic filters. The accuracy and stability of the X-FEM based method are comparable to those of the standard interface-fitted FEM, and are superior to those of the voxel type FEM that is often used in such complex micro geometry cases.

PIC 플라즈마 시뮬레이션에서의 유한요소법 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on FEM Application in PIC Plasma Simulation)

  • In the PIC simulation of plasma, the fields are commonly calculated on uniform spatial grids using FDM. But, FDM has a difficulty in modeling a complex shaped model. FEM has a good flexibiblity in treating a complex shape, so that we calculated the field by using FEM not FDM. In this paper, the plasma between plane-to-plane electrodes was simulated using FEM and FDM. Comparing the results of those two methods told us that FEM is also valid as a calculating method in PIC plasma simulation. In order to verify the use of FEM, the discharge of rod-to-plane was simulated. There was not a little distortion of the electric field between the electrodes due to the distribution of space charges.

적응 확장 유한요소기법과 형상최적설계로의 응용 (An adaptive X-FEM and its application to shape optimization)

  • A procedure is proposed to generate optimal grid with minimal user intervention while keeping a prescribed level of accuracy, using an adaptive X-FEM and applied to shape optimization. In spite of various advantages of X-FEM, however, there are several obstacles for practical applications. Because of using a uniform background mesh and additional degree of freedoms for enrichment, an X-FEM is usually computationally more expensive than traditional finite element method. Furthermore, there are often accuracy problems. For an automatic procedure of optimal mesh generation, an h-adaptive scheme and a posteriori error estimation obtained by a post-processing process are utilized. The procedure is shown by 2-D shape optimization examples.

A Study on a Composite Laminate Pull-through Joint

  • In this paper, composite laminate pull-through resistance was analyzed using the FEM method and compared with test results. 2D and 3D simplified FEM models, a nonlinear analysis, and a progressive failure analysis utilizing three composite laminate failure theories Maximum Stress, Maximum Strain, and Tsai-Wu were used to predict the FEM results with the test results. The load and boundary conditions of the test were applied to the FEM to simulate the test. A composite laminate pull-through test (ASTM D7332 Proc. B) was designed with a special fixture to collect more precise data. The test results were compared with the FEM analysis results.

  • 본 논문에서는 유한 요소법(FEM) 시뮬레이션을 사용하여 초음파 미세패턴 성형에 사용되는 초음파 공구혼을 이론적 연구와 유한요소해석을 통하여 조사 하였다. 이 방법은 FEM 해석으로 얻어진 초기 설계 추정치에 기초한다. 초음파 미세패턴 성형에 필요한 고유주파수와 공구 혼의 공진주파수를 유한요소해석을 통하여 예측하였다. ANSYS S/W를 이용한 FEM 분석은 초음파 혼의 진동모드 형상의 최적 설계기술로 공진 주파수를 예측하기 위해 사용하였다. 초음파 진동자에 전원이 공급되면, 초음파 진동자에 공급된 전기에너지가 기계적인 운동에너지로 변환되어 진동이 발생하게 된다. 초음파 공구혼의 종진동 에너지를 이용하여 절연시트위에 RFID TAG 패턴 성형을 하게 된다. 초음파 진동을 이용한 마이크로 단위의 형상정밀도 향상을 위해서는 공구혼의 종진동모드만을 이용하여 성형 해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 초음파 마이크로패턴 성형에 필요한 공구혼의 고유진동수 및 진동모드를 갖는 설계변수를 고찰하고, 유한요소해석 결과를 바탕으로 공구혼을 제작함으로써 마이크로패턴 성형에 응용하고자 한다. 유한요소해석 결과를 바탕으로 RFID TAG의 미세패턴 성형을 위한 초음파 공구혼의 최적설계 및 제작에 반영하였다.
