  • 쾌속조형(Rapid Prototyping)기술은 다양한 형태치 재료를 사용하여 초기모형을 제작할 수 있다. Stratasys사의 FDM은 플라스틱 재료로 조형물을 제작하는 대표적인 쾌속조형공정이다. 또한 FDM으로 제작된 부품들은 하중을 받는 구조용 재료로도 사용된다. FDM은 약 300$\mu$m 두께의 가는 필라멘트의 형태의 일정한 방향으로 재료를 적층하므로, FDM으로 제작된 부품들은 이방성 재료의 성질을 나타낸다. 본 연구에서는 FDM 부품의 인장강도를 예측하기 위한 해석방법을 제시하고자 한다. 복합재를 위한 Classical Lamination Theory를 사용하여 컴퓨터 코드를 작성하였다. FDM 제품의 파괴를 예측하기 위하여 계산펀드에 Tsai-Wu failure criterion 이론을 도입하였다. 해석방법에 의해 예상되는 인장강도와 실제 실험으로 얼은 수치를 비교하였다. 예상치가 측정치에 근사한 값을 보이므로 본 계산식의 타당성이 입증되었다. 덧붙여서 FDM의 강도계산과 설계규칙이 웹기반의 제안서비스(FDMAS)에서 제공된다.

  • Rapid Prototyping (RP) technologies provide the ability to fabricate initial prototypes from various model materials. Stratasys' Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is a typical RP process that can fabricate prototypes out of plastic materials, and the parts made from FDM were often used as load-carrying elements. Because FDM deposits materials in about $300\mutextrm{m}$ thin filament with designated orientation, parts made from FDM show anisotropic material properties. This paper proposes an analytic model to predict the tensile strength of FDM parts. Applying the Classical Lamination Theory, which was developed for laminated composite materials, a computer code was implemented. Tsai-Wu failure criterion was added to the code to predict the failure of the FDM parts. The tensile strengths predicted by the analytic model were compared with experimental data. The data and prediction agreed reasonably well to prove the validity of the model. In addition, a web-based advisory service was developed to provide to strength prediction and design rules for FDM parts.

모수와 비모수 모형을 활용한 사망률 예측 비교 연구 (A study comparison of mortality projection using parametric and non-parametric model)

  • 급속한 고령화로 인하여 미래의 인구와 인구구조에 관해 사회와 정부의 관심이 증가하고 있으며 우리나라의 사망률은 감소하고 있으나 감소폭은 변동적이다. 본 연구에서는 이를 고려할 수 있는 모형을 살펴보고자 LC 모형, LM 모형, BMS 모형 그리고 비모수평활 기법이 적용된 FDM과 Coherent FDM을 비교 분석하여 연령별 사망률과 기대수명 예측의 정확성 측면에서 남녀 사망률 개선 추이를 예측하는데 적합한 모형을 살펴보았다. 또한 우리나라 사망률 예측에 비모수 기법의 활용 가능성을 검토하였다. 분석 결과 최근 자료의 추세를 잘 반영하는 비모수기법을 활용한 인구통계모델인 FDM과 Coherent FDM의 예측력이 우수함을 알 수 있었다. 결과적으로 FDM과 Coherent FDM은 적합이 뛰어나고, 미래에 변화가 크지 않다면 예측력 또한 우수하다 볼 수 있을 것이다.

Effects of Fascial Distortion Model and Myofascial Release on Pain Threshold in Remote Area

  • Purpose: This study sought to identify whether fascial therapy using myofascial release (MFR) and Fascial Distortion Model (FDM) techniques affected not only the area where treatment was being given but also remote areas connected to the treatment area by fascial continuity through comparison of the pain pressure threshold (PPT). Methods: The subjects were 16 healthy normal adults in their 20s and 30s who were divided into the MFR and FDM groups before the experiment. The PPT was measured at 4 different points on the body of the subjects. C7, T7, L5, and gastrocnemius along the superficial back line (SBL) before and after the intervention. Results: Only the FDM group subjects showed a significant increase in the PPT at T7 after the intervention. (p<0.05). In addition, the FDM group demonstrated significantly increased PPT at L5 compared to the MFR group. However, neither the FDM nor the MFR group showed a meaningful change in the PPT at the remote area in the lower leg. Conclusion: These findings showed that FDM can affect PPT more and has a positive effect on the pain threshold compared to MFR. However, neither FDM nor MFR showed any effect on the PPT in a remote area.

쾌속조형용 재료의 특성 - FDM (Material Characterization of RP Process - Fused Deposition Modeling)

  • Rapid Prototyping (RP) technology has been advanced to fabricate initial prototypes from various materials. Stratasys′ Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is one of the typical RP processes that provide functional prototypes of ABS plastic. In order to predict the behavior of final ABS parts, it is critical to understand the material properties of the raw FDM process material, and the effect that FDM build parameters have on the FDM part. In this paper, we seek to characterize the properties of ABS parts fabricated by the FDM 1650. Using the Design of Experiment (DOE) approach, the process parameters of FDM, such as raster orientation, air gap, bead width, color, and model temperature were examined. Tensile strengths of crisscross specimens, 〔45°/-45°〕, cross specimens, 〔0°/90°〕, and directionally fabricated tensile specimens (〔0°〕 and 〔90°〕) were measured and compared with the injection molded FDM-ABS P400 material. For the FDM parts made with a -0.003"air gap, the typical tensile strength ranged between 50 percent and 83 percent of the strength of injection molded ABS P400. From the experiments, a couple of build rules for designing FDM parts were obtained.

시계열 이용기간에 따른 사망률 예측 비교 (A comparison of mortality projection by different time period in time series)

  • 우리나라의 경우 선진국에 비해 짧은 기간 동안 사망률 개선이 급속히 이루어짐에 따라 사망률 예측에 있어 모형의 선택뿐만 아니라 시계열 이용기간의 선정 또한 중요한 고려사항이 될 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 시계열 이용기간의 선택 관점에서 회귀모형을 이용하는 방법을 제안하였다. 또한 Lee-Carter (LC) 모형, LC류 (Lee-Miller (LM), Booth-Maindonald-Smith (BMS)) 그리고 비모수 모형(functional data model (FDM), Coherent FDM)을 토대로 시계열 이용기간을 다르게 적용할 경우 어떠한 문제가 발생되며, 연령별 사망률과 기대수명 예측력에 어떠한 차이를 보이는지 살펴보았다. 분석결과를 바탕으로 5개의 모형별 2030년까지 남녀의 연령별 사망률과 예측기대수명을 작성하고 통계청(Korean Statistical Information Service; KOSIS)에서 제공하는 장래 연령별 사망률과 기대수명과 비교하였다.

Effect of Fascial Distortion Model on the Cobb's Angle in Adolescents with Idiopathic Scoliosis

  • Purpose: This study examined the effects of the fascial distortion model (FDM) method on Cobb's angle. Methods: Fourteen subjects participated in this study. The idiopathic scoliosis group performed FDM treatments eight times in four weeks. A Shapiro-Wilks test was used to verify the normality of a group of idiopathic scoliosis patients. A paired t-test was performed to determine the satisfaction with the normality. Results: The difference in Cobb's angle was reduced significantly (p<0.05) by an average of $5.72^{\circ}{\pm}2.24$ from $15.51^{\circ}{\pm}1.81$ before the experiment. Conclusion: This study found that the use of the FDM method was effective in improving the Cobb's angle. The application of a FDM treatment appears to stabilize the fascia with decreased ability to adapt physiologically. The application of the CD and TB method of FDM treatment improved the asymmetry spine by dispersing moisture in fascia and improving the contraction and relaxation ability. The results suggest that the Cobb's angle is reduced when FDM is applied, thereby preventing the progression of curvature and avoiding psychological and physical problems that can arise from improving patients with scoliosis.

  • Recently, FDM-type 3D printer technology has been developed, and efforts have been made to improve the output formability and characteristics further. Through this, 3D printers are used in various fields, and printer technologies are suggested according to usage, such as FDM, SLA, DLP, and SLM. In particular, the FDM method is the most widely used, and the FDM method technology is being developed further. The characteristics of the output are produced by the FDM-type 3D printer, which is determined by various factors, and particularly the perspective of the Inter-Layer Fill Factor, which is the volume ratio of the laminated material that exerts a direct influence. In this study, the Inter-Layer Fill Factor is theoretically obtained by presenting the internal space between each layer according to the laminate thickness as a cross-sectional shape model, and the cross section of the actual laminated sample is compared with the theoretical model through experiments. Then, the equation for the theoretical model is defined, and the strength change according to each condition (tensile strength of material, reduction slope, strength reduction rate, and output strength) is confirmed. In addition, we investigated the influence on the correlation and strength between laminate thickness and the Inter-Layer Fill Factor.

  • The principle of the FDM(fused deposition modeling) process is based on the layer by layer manufacturing technology, like other RP(rapid prototyping) process. In the FDM process, each layer may have different shape. Therefore, the built model may have stairs shape on its surface. This stairs shape is one of the serious problems in the FDM process. Thus in this study, cube models and spherical models were fabricated by FDM process to investigate the influence of injection amount on surface roughness. Models with various road width were also built to investigate the influence of road width on surface roughness. Surface roughness of the models was measured and analyzed. The result obtained in this study are expected to help selecting the part build orientation for optimum surface roughness.
