  • 디지털 이동통신 시스템의 성능은 신호의 fading과 다른 사용자에 의한 간섭에 영향을 받는다. 이런 효과들을 줄여주기 위해서 기지국에서 어레이 안테나를 사용하려는 연구가 이루어지고 있다. A 어레이 안테나를 이용한 통신은 지금까지 uplink 방향에 대한 연구가 주를 이루었으나, 최근에는 downlink 에 대한 연구가 많이 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 FDD 방식을 기초로 한 이동통신 시스템에서 donwlink beamforming 기법을 제안 한다. 기존의 방식들과 제안된 기법 사이의 성능을 시뮬레이션을 통해 비교하였다.

Technology for Real-Time Identification of Steady State of Heat-Pump System to Develop Fault Detection and Diagnosis System (열펌프의 고장감지 및 진단시스템 구축을 위한 실시간 정상상태 진단기법 개발)

  • Identification of a steady state is the first step in developing a fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) system of a heat pump. In a complete FDD system, the steady-state detector will be included as a module in a self-learning algorithm, which enables the working system's reference model to "tune" itself to its particular installation. In this study, a steady-state detector of a residential air conditioner based on moving windows was designed. Seven representative measurements were selected as key features for steady-state detection. The optimized moving-window size and the feature thresholds were decided on the basis of a startup-transient test and no-fault steady-state test. Performance of the steady-state detector was verified during an indoor load-change test. In this study, a general methodology for designing a moving-window steady-state detector for applications involving vapor compression has been established.

Calculation of FDD-based Occupied Frequency Bandwidth for 4G Mobile (4세대 이동통신을 위한 FDD 방식을 고려한 점유 주파수 대역폭 산출)

  • Today, third-generation(3G) of mobile communication service executing the video and TV. And low cost, high speed data rate will emerge communication of the fourth generation(4G) in future. So, in this paper we studied occupied frequency bandwidth of common technique criteria among the technique criteria for the 4G mobile communication of FDD-based on Up/Down-link. The mobile communication traffic is predicted Up/Down-link of non-symmetric in future. So we proposed the PHY layer parameters of occupied frequency bandwidth of Up/Down-link with both 1:3 and 1:6. We also verified this through the simulation. We proposed the occupied frequency bandwidth for the 4G mobile communication in this paper.

Adaptive De-interlacing Algorithm using Method Selection based on Degree of Local Complexity (지역 복잡도 기반 방법 선택을 이용한 적응적 디인터레이싱 알고리듬)

  • In this paper, we propose an adaptive de-interlacing algorithm that is based on the degree of local complexity. The conventional intra field de-interlacing algorithms show the different performance according to the ways which find the edge direction. Furthermore, FDD (Fine Directional De-interlacing) algorithm has the better performance than other algorithms but the computational complexity of FDD algorithm is too high. In order to alleviate these problems, the proposed algorithm selects the most efficient de-interacing algorithm among LA (Line Average), MELA (Modified Edge-based Line Average), and LCID (Low-Complexity Interpolation Method for De-interlacing) algorithms which have low complexity and good performance. The proposed algorithm is trained by the DoLC (Degree of Local Complexity) for selection of the algorithms mentioned above. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm not only has the low complexity but also performs better objective and subjective image quality performances compared with the conventional intra-field methods.

Frequency translation approach for transmission beamforming in FDD wireless communication systems with basestation arrays (기지국 안테나 배열을 이용한 FDD 방식의 무선통신 시스템에서 송신 빔 형성을 위한 주파수 변환 방식)

  • We consider transmission beamforming techniques for frequency-division-duplex (FDD) wireless communication systems using adaptive arrays to improve the signal quality of the array transmission link. We develop a simple effective transmission beamforming technique based on an approximated frequency tranlsation (AFT) to derive the tranmsiion beamforming weights from the uplink channel vector. This technique exploits the invariance of the short-time averaged fast fading statistics to small frequency translations. A simple approximate relationship that relates the transmission channel vector to the reception channel vector is derived. We have developed its practical alternative in which the frequency translation of the channel vector is performed at the principal angle of arrival (AOA) of the u;link synthestic angular spectrum instead of the mean AOA. To analyze the performance of the proposed methods, we consider the power loss incurred by applying the estimated channel vector instead of the true downlink channel vector. The performance is analyzed as a function of the mean AOA, the angular spread, the number of elements, frequncy difference between the uplink and the downlink, and the angle distribution. Their performance is also compared with that of the direct weight reuse method and the AOA based methods.

A Codebook Generation and Search Scheme for FDD Downlink Massive MIMO Systems (주파수 분할 하향링크 거대 다중 안테나 시스템을 위한 코드북 형성 및 검색 기법)

  • Applying channel state information feedback scheme based on codebook for FDD downlink MIMO system to massive MIMO system directly causes following two problems. First, codebook generation becomes hard because resources needed for codebook generation increases exponentially in the number of antennas. In addition, long time is needed for channel state information feedback because users's codebook search time increases linearly in the number of antennas. This paper proposes a codebook generation scheme and a codebook search scheme which can reduce resource for codebook generation and codebook search time drastically though they have similar performance as conventional approaches.
