  • This paper presents an application of rule based expert system to GDS. Expert system is a computer-based system that uses knowledge, facts, and reasoning techniques to solve problems that normally require the abilities of human experts. Expert system can be classified as synthesis expert system, classification expert system or combination of these. The Expert system of GDS belongs to the synthesis type of expert system.   • Hidden Markov Model(HMM) has a doubly embedded stochastic process with an underlying stochastic process that can be observed through another set of stochastic processes. This structure of HMM is useful for modeling vector sequence that doesn't look like a stochastic process but has a hidden stochastic process. So, HMM approach has become popular in various areas in last decade. The increasing popularity of HMM is based on two facts : rich mathematical structure and proven accuracy on critical application. In this paper, we applied continuous HMM (CHMM) approach with AR coefficient to detect and predict the chatter of lathe bite and to diagnose the wear of oil Journal bearing using rotor shaft displacement. Our examples show that CHMM approach is very efficient method for machine health monitoring and prediction.

  • In this paper we tried to overcome the limit of contents which occur when we implement the augmented reality technology adapted application on commercialized mobile system. First of all, we checked the requirement analysis of exclusive mobile system to support augmented reality. And then we designed and realized the mobile system based on this facts. Also we embodied augmented reality application based on NyARToolkit which assists augmented reality techniques. Finally the implemented contents operated properly in our exclusive mobile system. Consequently we confirmed the suitability and validity of our system through above test.

  • For many social scientists, the comparative method has been a part of the common enterprise of describing, explaining, and developing theories about socio-cultural phenomena. However, it is rare that comparison has been methodologically considered in architectural history in spite of the usefulness for understanding the similarities and differences among architectural styles. This research emphasizes the importance of comparative methodology in architectural history and proposes an example which can be introduced from the comparative method for social studies. The application in this study is based on the assumption that an architectural phenomenon is a kind of social phenomenon and comparative method in social study can be applied to architectural history. The method is to generate and test hypotheses through establishing functional correlation between variables treated as the objective facts that differentiate one type of building from another.

Analysis of Optical Characteristics of Transparent Glasses for PV and Glass-Glass Module Application (PV용 투명유리와 G/G모듈의 광학적 특성 평가 및 분석)

  • In this study, we analyze the electrical optical characteristics of transparent glass for photovoltaic and glass-glass module application. The elemental facts from raw glass to laminated glass with solar cells are analyzed using UV spectrophotometer and spectroradiometer. From the data of transmittance and reflectance, the optimum PV module processing condition and selection of material for fabrication should be considered deeply for obtaining high module efficiency. Also we introduce two glasses which has 2%$\sim$4% higher transmittance using coating technology with anti-reflection material. From this experiment, we try to give some basic information for PV module manufacturing industry. The detail description is specified as the following paper.

A Study on Unconscionability as an Exception to the Independence Principle under Bank Guarantees (은행보증의 독립성 예외와 "비양심성"에 관한 연구)

  • This paper reviewed "unconscionability" as an exception to the independence principle of bank guarantees. Apart from fraud which has been recognized in most international jurisdictions, Uuconscionability would also be recognized as the exception to the legal principle, the so-called "fraud rule" or "an abuse of rights." Unconscionability exception is applied in the same manner as fraud and other exceptions to the principle of independence. The exception should allow guarantor to dishonor the drawings that abuse the independence principle. However, outright or manifest facts of the unconscionability must be established in order to apply the exception. Lots of arguments or conflicts may be caused in applying the unconscionability exception. Therefore, this study aims to prevent institutional abuses or to reduce the disputes from setting up the legitimate scope and standard for application of the exception by reviewing these procedural issues and problems under bank guarantee transactions. This paper also suggested practical implications and countermeasures for the institutional application.

  • The chemical process plant information is used and updated during design, construction, operation, and maintenance of plant. This special type of information should be utilized as the DW(datawarehouse) which conforms to the standard format. The DW should be design in consideration of connectivity to application softwares. The application softwares are different from each other in the context of their objects such as design, management, decision-making, and so on. In this paper, some considerable facts in dealing with chemical process plant information on the framework of developing application software including datawarehousing, model building, interfacing. As a case study, the development of decision-making support system for environmental policy is illustrated for the related discussion.
