Investment in FA facilities has been accerelated since 1986, turning point by labor strife in Korea firms. Most commonly adopted automation tech, in their manufacturing process consists of NC. Robotics, PLC, CAD/CAM now on and further confused system oriented FMS, CIM, etcs. undergoing. But for all their remarkable notices in manufacturing systems, The competitive position on product cost, quality, shorten delivery and profit has never been recovered in global swing market. To make some empirical suggestions with a view to competitive strategy of Korea firms by FA, to the conclusion largely FA tech. adoption can be justified only when its application on new product productions and improved the structure of products comparatively. Because of when it was applied in old production process. The effectiveness is very doubtful to the lacks of consistent and integrate manufacturing policy with the strategy of the fim and their poor standardization level in shop floors.
Due to economic and environmental benefits, increasing the substitution ratio of ordinary cement by industry by-products like fly ash (FA) is one of the best approaches to reduce the impact of the concrete industry on the environment. However, as the substitution rate of FA increases, it will have an adverse impact on the performance of cement-based materials, so the actual substitution rate of FA is limited to around 10-30%. Therefore, in order to increase the early-age strength of high replacement (30-70%) low-calcium ultrafine FA blended cement paste, sodium sulfate and calcium sulfate dihydrate were used to improve the reactivity of FA. The results show that sodium sulfate has a significant enhancement effect on the strength of the composite pastes in the early and late ages, while calcium sulfate dihydrate has only a slight effect in the late ages. The addition of sodium sulfate in the cement-FA blended system can enhance the gain rate of non-evaporation water, and can decrease the Ca(OH)2 content. In addition, when the sulfate chemical activators are added, the ettringite content increases, and the surface of the FA is dissolved and hydrated.

In the present scenario to fulfill the demands of sustainable construction, concrete made with multi-blended cement system of OPC and different mineral admixtures, is the judicious choice for the construction industry. Silica fume (SF) and fly ash (FA) are the most commonly used mineral admixtures in ternary blend cement systems. Synergy between the contributions of both on the mechanical properties of the concrete is an important factor. This study reports the effect of replacement of OPC by fly ash (20, 30, 40 and 50 % replacement of OPC) and/or silica fume (7 and 10 %) on the mechanical properties of concrete like compressive strength and split tensile strength, with three different w/b ratio of 0.3, 0.4 and 0.45. The results indicate that, as the total replacement level of OPC in concrete using ternary blend of OPC + FA + SF increases, the strength with respect to control mix increases up to certain replacement level and thereafter decreases. If the cement content of control mixes at each w/b ratio is kept constant, then as w/b ratio decreases, higher percentage of OPC can be replaced with FA + SF to get 28 days strength comparable to the control mix. A new method was proposed to find the efficiency factor of SF and FA individually in ternary blend cement system, based on principle of modified Bolomey's equation for predicting compressive strength of concrete using binary blend cement system. Efficiency factor for SF and FA were always higher in ternary blend cement system than their respective binary blend cement system. Split tensile strength of concrete using binary and ternary cement system were higher than OPC for a given compressive strength level.
Japanese manufacturers have seen the market swing from a sellers' market to a buyers' market by dint of changes in the economic environment. Therefore, they have found the need to establish a production system in which products can be manufactured at the speed at which they are being sold and which achieve a competitive advantage. FA activity in Japan today has begun to change from local automation to totally integrated automation. This paper introduces a bottom to top based JIT-FA system and describes how to approach and introduce a CIM supported by human based systems. A fully automated CIM system is not only flexible but also rigid. However we can realize a flexible production line system by partially introducing human based systems including a decision support system.

This paper concerns estimating uncertainties of the core neutronics design parameters of power reactors by direct sampling method (DSM) calculations based on the two-step McCARD/MASTER design system in which McCARD is used to generate the fuel assembly (FA) homogenized few group constants (FGCs) while MASTER is used to conduct the core neutronics design computation. It presents an extended application of the uncertainty propagation analysis method originally designed for uncertainty quantification of the FA FGCs as a way to produce the covariances between the FGCs of any pair of FAs comprising the core, or the covariance matrix of the FA FGCs required for random sampling of the FA FGCs input sets into direct sampling core calculations by MASTER. For illustrative purposes, the uncertainties of core design parameters such as the effective multiplication factor ($k_{eff}$), normalized FA power densities, power peaking factors, etc. for the beginning of life (BOL) core of Yonggwang nuclear unit 4 (YGN4) at the hot zero power and all rods out are estimated by the McCARD/MASTER-based DSM computations. The results are compared with those from the uncertainty propagation analysis method based on the McCARD-predicted sensitivity coefficients of nuclear design parameters and the cross section covariance data.
This paper describes laboratory tests carried out to evaluate the influence of class F fly ash (FA) on fracture toughness of plain concretes, specified at the third model fracture. Composites with the additives of: 0%, 20% and 30% siliceous FA were analysed. Fracture toughness tests were performed on axial torsional machine MTS 809 Axial/Torsional Test System, using the cylindrical specimens with dimensions of 150/300 mm, having an initial circumferential notch made in the half-height of cylinders. The studies examined effect of FA additive on the critical stress intensity factor $K_{IIIc}$. In order to determine the fracture toughness $K_{IIIc}$ a special device was manufactured. The analysis of the results revealed that a 20% FA additive causes increase in $K_{IIIc}$, while a 30% FA additive causes decrease in fracture toughness. Furthermore, it was observed that the results obtained during fracture toughness tests are convergent with the values of the compression strength tests.
This paper presents a mathematical model for strength and porosity of mortars made with ternary blends of ordinary Portland cement (OPC), ground rice husk ash (RHA) and classified fly ash (FA). The mortar mixtures were made with Portland cement Type I containing 0-40% FA and RHA. FA and RHA with 1-3% by weight retained on a sieve No. 325 were used. Compressive strength and porosity of the blended cement mortar at the age of 7, 28 and 90 days were determined. The use of ternary blended cements of RHA and FA produced mixes with good strength and low porosity of mortar. A mathematical analysis and two-parameter polynomial model were presented for the strength and porosity estimation with FA and RHA contents as parameters. The computer graphics of strength and porosity of the ternary blend were also constructed to aid the understanding and the proportioning of the blended system.
A scheduler for a class of Factory Automation (FA) systems is suggested. The technique of Timed Petri Nets is used to model FA systems and, a new concept called Unit Timed Petri Nets is proposed to schedule the system. The scheduler consists of two parts, scheduling rules and input jobs. Since flexibility should be an indispensable ingredient of the scheduler for FA systems, the method using Timed Petri Nets is adopted to represent scheduling rules in a simple and systematic manner and the scheduler is implemented with the PROLOG language. The proposed scheduler is applied to the realistic problem of flow shop.
In this study, the performance characteristics of a high temperature heat pump dryer that is able to raise the air temperature up to $80^{\circ}C$ by using waste heat as heat source were investigated numerically. The main components of the heat pump dryer were modeling as a compressor, condenser, evaporator and expansion device, and R245fa was selected as refrigerant. Experiments were also conducted to validate the numerical data. As a result, when the evaporator air inlet temperature increased from $50^{\circ}C$ to $65^{\circ}C$, the numerical results of the hot air temperature at outlet and heat pump COP were about 8~11% and 5~8% higher than that of experimental ones, respectively.
