  • 혼합공정은 화학공학, 식품공학, 건축공학등 여러 가지 산업분야에 걸쳐 이용되는데 최근 고분자 분야에서도 신소재 개발 또는 제품의 물성을 향상시키기 위하여 이에대한 연구 가 활발해지고 있다. 고분자 가공에서 혼합에 이용되는 대표적인 기계로는 twin screw extruder, internal mixer, two roll mill 등이 있는데 본 연구에서는 internal mixer에서의 고 분자 유동 및 혼합거동을 파악하고자 하였다. 실험적으로는 flow visualization 방법을 써서 순환시간을 측정하였고, 시뮬레이션을 통하여 이론적으로 이를 검토하였다. 고분자 거동은 비뉴우톤을 유체로서 설명되기 때문에 본 연구에서는 혼합기의 구조적 특성을 고려한 모델 로서 $\eta$ = $\frac{\eta_o}{1+A[2trd^2]^\frac{1-n}{2}}$

  • $Na^+-H^+$ exchanger (NHE) is the main acid extruder in cardiac myocytes. We review the experimental findings of ion-dependency of NHE activity, and the mathematical modeling developed so far. In spite of extensive investigation, many unsolved questions still remain. We consider that the precise description of NHE activity with mathematical models elucidates the roles of NHE in maintaining ionic homeostasis, especially under pathophysiological conditions.

  • XLPE/VLDPE (Crosslinked polyethylene/very low density polyethylene) blends were prepared by a twin screw extruder and their electrical properties such as water tree and breakdown characteristic were measured. it was found that both water tree and breakdown characteristics of XLPE were improved by the addition of VLDPE to polyethylene. It was also found that the extent of improvement of electrical properties by the addition of VLDPE to polyethylene depends on the type and concentration of VLDPE.

Improvement research for impact strength of nylon66/silicate composites (나일론66/실리케이트 복합체의 충격특성 개선 연구)

  • A study of the improvement in the impact strength is required to apply Nylon 66/silicate composites as an automobile material. Nylon 66/silicate composites were prepared using a twin screw extruder in case of a silicate treatment by ${\gamma}$-APS (S-silicate) and the addition of an octene ${\alpha}$ olefin grafted by maleic anhydride (PE-g-MAH). The chemical structure of the silane treated silicate was measured by Fourier transform infra-red (FT-IR) spectroscopy. The chemical reaction was confirmed by the decrease in the FT-IR intensity of the OH stretching vibration. The thermal properties, intercalation structure, and Izod impact strength were measured by DSC, TGA, XRD, and Izod impact tester. There was no significant effect on the degradation temperature of the Nylon66/silicate composite, but the crystallization temperature and crystallinity increased slightly in the case of the Nylon66/silicate composites. This suggests that the additives act as heterogeneous nuclei on the Nylon 66 matrix. The Izod impact test indicated that S-silicate enhanced the impact performance by up to 24%.

Effect of Number of Extrusions on Topokkidduk Quality (압출성형 횟수를 달리한 떡볶이 떡의 품질특성)

  • We investigated the quality of Topokkidduk created by an increasing number of extrusions (1,2, and 3 passes) using an extruder. The moisture content significantly increased with an increasing number of extrusions. The moisture content of Topokkidduk was highest at 50.8% (p<0.05) after 3 extrusions. A texture analyzer revealed that the hardness and chewiness of Topokkidduk was reduced and the cohesiveness was increased after more extrusions. Also, water absorption was reduced and solid content was increased after more extrusions. A sensory evaluation revealed that Topokkidduk after 2 extrusions (6.42 score) seemed better than other samples. Therefore, the moisture content, texture and sensory evaluation of Topokkidduk were most suitable after 2 pass extrusions.

Study on the Physical and Rheological Properties of Nylon66/MWCNT Composites (나일론66/MWCNT 복합체 물성 및 유변학적 특성 연구)

  • Nylon66/multi-walled carbon nano tube (MWCNT) composites were fabricated by twin screw extruder. The contents of MWCNT were 1, 3, 5, and 7 wt%. Thermal properties, dispersion, rheological and impact properties were measured by DSC, TGA, X-ray diffraction (XRD), SEM, Dynamic rheometer, and Izod impact tester. The effect of MWCNT on the non-isothermal crystallization of Nylon66 was confirmed by DSC. The complex viscosity at low frequency and the shear thinning tendency of the composites increased with MWCNT content. An increase in the elasticity was confirmed from the decrease in the slop of G'-G" plot. Izod impact strengths of the composites were analyzed as a measure of mechanical properties, which indicated that the composites exhibit a 60% enhancement for the impact strength when 3 wt% MWCNT was added. The dispersion of MWCNT within Nylon66/MWCNT composites was also checked by SEM.
