  • Manufacturing accuracy of a precision instrument was essential to stability and efficiency of the product. Accordingly, geometrically accuracy management of precision instrument was very becoming the technique in order to design and manufacturing for machine. In this study, Measuring System is developed for extra long roller using non-contact sensor. Futhermore, It's studied by Geometric Tolerance. Exact roundness is obtained to Least Squares method from the reference circle of measured data. Measuring System is analyzed point of measurement and straightness of extra long roller is evaluated by FEM.

  • This paper presents the closed-form forward kinematics of the 6-6 Stewart platform of planar base and moving platform. Based on algebraic elimination method and with one extra linear sensor, it first derives an 8th-degree univariate equation and then finds tentative solution sets out of which the actual solution is to be selected. In order to provide more exact solution despite the error between measured sensor value and the theoretical one, a correction method is also used. The overall procedure requires so little computation time that it can be efficiently used for realtime applications. In addition, unlike the iterative schemes e.g. Newton-Raphson, the algorithm does not require initial estimates of solution and is free of the problems that it does not converge to actual solution within limited time. The presented method has been implemented in C language and a numerical example is given to confirm the effectiveness and accuracy of the developed algorithm.

  • Sensor networks play an important role in making the dream of ubiquitous computing a reality. With a variety of applications, sensor networks have the potential to influence everyone's life in the near future. However, there are a number of issues in deployment and exploitation of these networks that must be dealt with for sensor network applications to realize such potential. Localization of the sensor nodes, which is the subject of this paper, is one of the basic problems that must be solved for sensor networks to be effectively used. This paper proposes a probabilistic support vector machine (SVM)-based method to gain a fairly accurate localization of sensor nodes. As opposed to many existing methods, our method assumes almost no extra equipment on the sensor nodes. Our experiments demonstrate that the probabilistic SVM method (PSVM) provides a significant improvement over existing localization methods, particularly in sparse networks and rough environments. In addition, a post processing step for PSVM, called attractive/repulsive potential field localization, is proposed, which provides even more improvement on the accuracy of the sensor node locations.

  • In this paper, a novel data transferring method is introduced that can transmit sensor data without using data bandwidth or an extra-processing cycle in a delay insensitive network. The proposed method uses human devices as Mules, does not disturb the device owner for permission, and saves energy while transferring sensor data to the collection hub in a wireless sensor network. This paper uses IP addressing technique as the data transferring mechanism by embedding the sensor data with the IP address of a Mule. The collection hub uses the ARP sequence method to extract the embedded data from the IP address. The proposed method follows WiFi standard in its every step and ends when data collection is over. Every step of the proposed method is discussed in detail with the help of figures in the paper.

  • In this paper, some of optical current transformers and optical potential transformers for extra high voltage system are introduced. The optical current transformer and optical potential transformer will be adopted in the near future, because of increasing demands of high accuracy and good reliability of current transformer and potential transformer. The application cases of optical current transformers and optical potential transformers are also introduced.

  • The recent interest in sensor networks has led to a number of routing schemes that use the limited resources available at sensor nodes more efficiently. These schemes typically try to find the minimum energy path to optimize energy usage at a node. Some schemes, however, are prone to unbalance of the traffic and energy. To solve this problem, we propose a novel solution: a gradient-field approach which takes account of the minimum cost data delivery, energy consumption balancing, and traffic equalization. We also modify the backoff-based cost field setup algorithm to establish our gradient-field based sensor network and give the algorithm. Simulation results show that the overhead of routing establishment obtained by our algorithm is much less than the one obtained by Flooding. What's more, our approach guarantees the basic Quality of Service (QoS) without extra spending.

  • Angle sensors based on the principle of autocollimation, which are usually called autocollimators, can accurately measure small tilt angles of a light-reflecting flat surface. This paper describes a prototype micro-angle sensor that is based on the laser autocollimation technique. The new angle sensor is compact and consists of a laser diode as the light source and a quadrant photodiode as a position-sensing device. Because of its concise design, the microangle sensor facilitates dynamic measurements of the angular error motions of a precision stage without influencing the original dynamic properties of the stage. This is because the sensor only requires a small extra target mirror to be mounted on the stage. The sensitivity of the angle detection is independent of the focal length of the objective lens; therefore, an objective lens with a relatively short focal length is employed to reduce the size of the device. The micro-angle sensor uses a single lens for the both the laser collimation and focusing, which distinguishes it from the conventional laser autocollimation method that has separate collimate and objective lenses. The new micro-angle sensor has dimensions of $15.1\times22.0\times14.0mm$ and its resolution is better than 0.1 arc-second The optical design and performance of this micro-angle sensor were verified by experimental results.

  • Mostly used sensors have wired powering and two-way cable systems. It is difficult to employ wired sensor network in ubiquitous era because of a number of sensors and cables. Therefore, sensor networks move from wired systems to wireless systems for the future. However, the power source is a critical obstacle for wireless sensornodes. This research represents the new power source which supplies energy sensor node, maintains over 10 years, and thus replaces batteries with limit of lifetime. The system with piezo materials scavenges extra energies such as vibration and acceleration from the environment. Then it converts the scavenged mechanical energy to electrical energy for powering a sensor, a controller and a circuit for regulating voltage and transmitting sensor value. This study explains the properties of piezo material through theoretical analysis and experiments, and demonstrates powering sensor and transmitting data with stored energy (35mJ) for 14 sec. The developed system provides a solution to overcome the critical problem of making up wireless sensor networks.

  • In this paper, we propose a symmetric key establishment scheme for wireless sensor networks which tries to minimize the resource usage while satisfying the security requirements. This is accomplished by taking advantage of the communication pattern of wireless sensor networks and adopting heterogeneous wireless sensor networks. By considering the unique communication pattern of wireless sensor networks due to the nature of information gathering from the physical world, the number of keys to be established is minimized and, consequently, the overhead spent for establishing keys decreases. With heterogeneous wireless sensor networks, we can build a hybrid scheme where a small number of powerful nodes do more works than a large number of resource-constrained nodes to provide enhanced security service such as broadcast authentication and reduce the burden of resource-limited nodes. In addition, an on-demand key establishment scheme is introduced to support extra communications and optimize the resource usage. Our performance analysis shows that the proposed scheme is very efficient and highly scalable in terms of storage, communication and computation overhead. Furthermore, our proposed scheme not only satisfies the security requirements but also provides resilience to several attacks.
