A Case of Identification of the Cause Using Navigation System and Treatment in the Patient with Nasal Valve Compromise (네비게이션을 이용한 비밸브 기능저하의 원인 규명과 치료 1예)

  • Nasal valve compromise (NVC) is a distinct cause of symptomatic nasal obstruction, yet there are several ambiguities surrounding the diagnosis and management of this disease. Understanding of nasal valve anatomy with critical assessment of the site of obstruction is essential to effective nasal valve management. Technique selection should be individualized to the type of valve dysfunction. This case report presents a 56 year old man with nasal valve dysfunction due to narrow middle vault, concave lower lateral cartilage and swollen septal body which was diagnosed by various techniques including navigation system and treated by spreader graft, alar batten graft and reduction of septal body.

  • Nuclear power plant has many external fire hydrants that have to operate in the state of emergency such as facility fire, forest fire. The valve stem of one among them was broken 3 times for 4 years. It had long valve stem and operated under high water pressure. The elongation and the tensile strength for the broken valve stem was measured to examine the defect of material property. And the vibration level and the natural frequencies was detected to check the resonance. As the result of a diagnosis, the cause of this fault is proven buckling of long valve stem.

  • Throughout the practical process engineering design and commissioning 8E startup experiences focused on chemical process safety, the review of design and installation of the thermal relief valve with its surrounding facility in a chemical plant piping system is made to help the better understanding of the piping system of characteristics of thermal relief valve which Is consisting of theoretical approach, correlation in terms of temperature and pressure increase caused by external heat supply in a piping system, consideration of thermal relief valve design, pressure relieving system of serial thermal relief valves and exception of their installation. It is earnestly recommended that following topic should be implemented during thermal relief valve design, installation and normal operation as well.

Impact Behavior Analysis of Mechanical Monoleaflet Heart Valve Prostheses in the Opening Phase

  • In this paper, fluttering behavior of mechanical monoleaflet tilting disc heart valve prostheses during the opening phase was analyzed taking into consideration the impact between the occluder and the guiding strut at the fully open position. The motion of the valve occluder was modeled as a rotating system, and equations were derived by employing the moment equilibrium principle. Forces due to lift, drag, gravity and buoyancy were considered as external forces acting on the occluder. The 4th order Runge-Kutta method was used to solve the governing equations. The results iimonstrated that the occludes reaches steady equilibrium position only after damped vibration. Fluttering frequency varies as a function of time after opening and is in the range of 8-84 Hz. Valve opening appears to be affected by the orientation of the valve relative to gravitational force. The opening velocities are in the range of 0.65-1.42m/sec and the dynamic loads by impact of the occludes and the strut are in the range of 90-190 N.

  • The valve device is installed in hazardous areas, such as a chemical plant explosion has been sealed with fire protection device to prevent the risk of explosion. In this paper, due to the explosion-proof devices using external power the device can not be used in infrared sensors and Zigbee sensor valve device by measuring the open degree of valve opening and closing of the danger zone to check whether. Valve opening and closing operation log screen time, we propose a low-power operation monitoring system administrators to manage and control the plant. Develop power control relay board apply an improved algorithm to apply the asynchronous LPL power management. The plant monitoring system and explosion-proof valve opening and closing the valve system with the intelligent device designed and implemented and tested it.

Lift force, drag force, gravity and buoyancy were considered as external forces acting on the valve occluder. The 4th order Runge-Kutta method was used to solve the equations. The results demonstrated that the occluder reaches steady eguilibrium position only after damped vibration. The mean damping ratio is in the range of 0.197-0.301. Fluttering frequency does not have any specific value, but varies as a function of time. It is in the range of 11-84Hz. Valve opening appears to be affected by the orientation of the valve relative to gravitational forces.

  • In this study the 4-way spool valve characteristics are clearly defined and clearly defined and proposed new type of spool valve. This paper presents governing equations of the flow through clearances between sleeve and spool as a model of orifice flow for null characteristics analysis and programmed analysis software of it. This software is possible to basically analysis that not only which case of open center closed center or critical center but _ -displacement of spool lab position boundary region and spool opening of the valve and to estimate the pressure variation in the spool and external leak flow variation. We are convinced that the scale of load pressure difference is changed as lab condition of valve and this scale is changed with boundary point on the annular clearance. It is vary useful to designer and user of spool valve with this design data and analysis software.

  • The welding part of the valve needs immediate action when leakage occurs due to cracks or damage. In order to repair leakage of the welding part, the valve must be separated from the pipe or replaced with a new valve. However, it is difficult to remove the valve while operating the power plant. This study presents a method to remove leakage by precisely processing the gap between the clamp and the incision part within 0.1mm while installed in the pipe system. If the external leakage is removed using a clamp on the welding part without removing the valve during operation, the time and cost required for maintenance can be reduced.

  • Pneumatic control system has been applied to build many industrial automation systems. But most of them are sequence control type because of their low costs, safety, reliability, etc. Pneumatic servo system is rarely applied to real industrial fields because accurate position control is very difficult due to its nonlinearity and compressibility of air. In pneumatic servo control system, a pneumatic servo valve can be applied, But it is very expensive and has no advantage of low cost compared with a common pneumatic system. This paper is concerned with the accurate position control of a rodless pneumatic cylinder using on/off solenoid valve. A novel Intelligent Modified Pulse Width Modulation(MPWM) is newly proposed. The control performance of this pneumatic cylinder depends on the external loads. To overcome this problem, switching of control parameter using artificial neural network is newly proposed, which estimates external loads on rodless pneumatic cylinder using this training neural network. As an underlying controller, a state feedback controller using position, velocity and acceleration is applied in the switching control the system. The effectiveness of the proposed control algorithms are demonstrated through experiments nth various loads.

  • 고효율의 실현이 가능한 흡기관 분사식 수소기관의 역화 억제 가능성을 파악하고자 밸브 오버랩 기간의 변화에 따른 제반 기관성능과 역화가 발생되는 역화한계 당량비를 실험적으로 해석하였다. 실험에는 기계식 연속 가변밸브 타이밍 시스템이 부착된 연구용 수소기관을 사용하였다. 밸브 오버랩기간은 배기밸브 개폐시기를 고정하고 흡기밸브 캠의 위상각을 조절하여 변화시켰다. 해석결과 밸브 오버랩 기간의 감소에 따른 제반기관성능은 통상의 기관과 유사하지만 역화한계 당량비가 확장되어 초기 단계이지만 수소기관의 역화발생에 밸브오버랩 기간이 관여하는 것이 보였다. 기관 회전수 1600 rpm, WOT의 실험 조건에서 밸브 오버랩 기간을 $20^{\circ}CA$에서 $0^{\circ}CA$로 감소시킨 경우 역화한계당량비는 약 45% 정도 확장되고 정미 토크는 16% 감소했다.
