Auto-Tuning of Reference Model Based PID Controller Using Immune Algorithm

  • In this paper auto-tuning scheme of PID controller based on the reference model has been studied for a Process control system by immune algorithm. Up to this time, many sophisticated tuning algorithms have been tried in order to improve the PID controller performance under such difficult conditions. Also, a number of approaches have been proposed to implement mixed control structures that combine a PID controller with fuzzy logic. However, in the actual plant, they are manually tuned through a trial and error procedure, and the derivative action is switched off. Therefore, it is difficult to tune. Since the immune system possesses a self organizing and distributed memory, it is thus adaptive to its external environment and allows a PDP (Parallel Distributed Processing) network to complete patterns against the environmental situation. Simulation results reveal that reference model basd tuning by immune network suggested in this paper is an effective approach to search for optimal or near optimal process control.

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of the hybrid instrumentation method with ProTaper and ProFile on the change of root canal area and distance from the canal to the root surface after canal shaping. The mesial canals of twenty extracted mandibular first molars having $10-20^{\circ}\Delta$ curvature were scanned using X-ray microcomputed tomography (XMCT)-scanner before root canals were instrumented. They were divided into four groups (n=10 canals ter group). In Group 1, root canals were instrumented by the step-back technique with stainless steel K-Flexofile after coronal flaring. The remainders were instrumented by the crown-down technique with, ProTaper system (Group 2), ProFile (Group 3) or ProTaper (Group 4). All canals were prepared up to size 25 at the end-point of preparation and scanned again. Pre- and post-operative cross-sectional images of 1, 3, 5, and 7 mm from the apical foramen were compared. For each level, change of cross-sectional canal are and distance to the nearest external root surface was calculated using Adobe Photoshop 6.0 and image software program. In the change of cross-sectional area, Group 4 was less than Group 2 at 3 mm and 5 mm level (p<0.05). In the difference of the distance from the canal to the root surface after canal shaping, Group 4 was least among the other groups at 7 mm level (p<0.05). According to the results, the methods using ProFile or K file only and the hybrid instrumentation technique using ProTaper and ProFile are more appropriate methods of canal preparation than ProTaper system for narrow of curved canals.

  • In this paper the structure of 2-DOF controller based on artificial immune network algorithms has been suggested for nonlinear system. Up to present time, a number of structures of the 2-DOF controllers are considered as 2-DOF (2-Degrees Of Freedom) control functions. However, A general view is provided that they are the special cases of either the state feedback or the modification of PID controllers. On the other hand, The immune network system possesses a self organizing and distributed memory, also it has an adaptive function by feed back law to its external environment and allows a PDP (parallel distributed processing) network to complete patterns against the environmental situation, since antibody recognizes specific antigens which are the foreign substances that invade living creatures. Therefore, it can provide optimal solution to external environment. Simulation results by immune based 2-DOF controller reveal that immune algorithm is an effective approach to search for 2-DOF controller.

  • In this paper, and estimation method for estimating the states of underwater vehicle systems with external unknown disturbance is proposed. First, the dynamics of underwater vehicle are induced by Taylor series expansion in the vertical plane and horizontal plane, respectively. For constructing the system model, the external efforts, i.e., the sea surface disturbances, the current, wave and etc., are regarded as external unknown disturbances. Thus the disturbance is added as external input into state-space form of underwater vehicle system. To estimate the state of systems with unknown disturbance, a disturbance observer which does not effected the external unknown input is proposed, and the existence condition for the observer is given. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed disturbance observer for robust control of underwater vehicle systems is verified by using numerical simulation.

  • Software and hardware for cochlear implant system have been developed to create a speech signal processing system which, in real-time, extracts model parameter including formants, pitch, amplitude information. The system is based on the Texas Instruments TMS320 family. In hardware, computer interface has been desisted and implemented that allows presentation of biphasic pulse stimuli to patients with the hearing handicapped. The host computer sends a stream of bytes to the parallel port. Upon receipt of the data the interface generates the appropriate burst sequence that is delivered to the patient's external transmitter coil. The coded information is interpreted by the Nucleus-22 internal receiver that delivers the pulse to the specified electrodes at the specified amplitude and pulse width.

  • In this study, a system is proposed for analyzing whether driver's eyes are open or closed on the basis of images to determine driver's drowsiness. The proposed system converts eye areas detected by a camera to a color space area to effectively detect eyes in a dark situation, for example, tunnels, and a bright situation due to a backlight. In addition, the system used a thickness distribution of a detected eye area as a feature value to analyze whether eyes are open or closed through the Support Vector Machine(SVM), representing 90.09% of accuracy. In the experiment for the images of driver wearing glasses, 83.83% of accuracy was obtained. In addition, in a comparative experiment with the existing PCA method by using Eigen-eye and Pupil Measuring System the detection rate is shown improved. After the experiment, driver's drowsiness was identified accurately by using the method of summing up the state of driver's eyes open and closes over time and the method of detecting driver's eyes that continue to be closed to examine drowsy driving.

  • In this paper, the MR fluid damper to the application of the paramagnetic (paramagnetic) particles dispersed in the MR fluid inside the magnet current caused by the MR damper using the principles of the internal fluid delivery yield stress variation is characterized in Silky. In other words, the current strength of the MR fluid damper according to the internal friction coefficient varies phenomenon is to use. The MR fluid damper to control the MCU that you want to use Microchip's dsPIC chips, and current control in order to improve performance by using the PWM and UART communication to an external monitor to monitor the entire system was designed. In this study using MR fluid dampers and dsPIC chip dehydration process happens when a washing machine vibration and noise, vibration and noise reduction sikidorok washing machine protection systems are proposed.

  • Renewable energy from the environment in a variety of ways to obtain various forms of energy. Recent functional polymer composites (EAP) to take advantage of the pressure and vibration of physical energy into electrical energy storage, to take advantage of current collector technology is attracting attention. EAP, a type of IPMC (Ionic exchange Polymer Composite) got a hydrophilic properties, marine power plants is being studied as a source of energy. Studies using IPMC marine power plant because there is a constraint on the time, IPMC in real time, which can measure the power generated by the system is required, Due to the nature of the power plant to be floating in the sea through the power cable and data transmission measurement system is hard drive self-generation and wireless data transmission system is required. In this study, IPMC marine power plant is to develop a system of monitoring. IPMC for several power plants to build individual current-voltage measurement system, CAN communication with the main system to collect all the information and wireless data transmission to occur, and Generation of electricity using solar energy to building systems in real-time without an external power supply to drive the measuring system is to develop a monitoring system.

  • In this paper, we propose a pose estimation method using local map acquired from 2d laser range finder information. The proposed method uses extended kalman filter. The state equation is a navigation system equation of Nomad Super Scout II. The measurement equation is a map-based measurement equation using a SICK PLS 101-112 sensor. We describe a map consisting of geometric features such as plane, edge and corner. For pose estimation we scan external environments by laser rage finer. And then these data are fed to kalman filter to estimate robot pose and position. The proposed method enables very fast simultaneous map building and pose estimation.
