  • This study is for establishing an appraisal methodology to ensure the accountability of the parliament and to documentation the contemporary historical events related to the National Assembly. It is impossible to documentation comprehensively the activities of the National Assembly through the records schedule of the National Assembly, the current the disposal guidelines of the National Assembly. In particular, this is designed focusing on four affiliated organizations such as the National Assembly Secretariat, so there is a fundamental limit to documentation the outputs of various external agencies and areas where have relationships with the National Assembly. Therefore, it is hard to documentation comprehensively the various issues and historical events occurring in the National Assembly under the current appraisal system. In this situation, this study presents the appraisal methodology, the institutional functional analysis to ensure the accountability of the institution as a first step. However, only with the institutional functional analysis methodology, it is difficult to organize collectively the contemporary historical events or social events ongoing in relation to the fundamental functions of the National Assembly. For this reason, the subject oriented documentation methodology is designed that is the appraisal methodology of selecting the records related to the contemporary social phenomena and historical events according to the functional areas of the National Assembly derived from the institutional functional analysis methodology. Thereby, it is designed that the model of the documentation strategy applicable to the National Assembly in reality.

  • Aim of the study: The objective of this systematic review is to critically evaluate the evidence of the effectiveness and safety of external application of herbal medicines (EAHM) for acne vurgalis (AV). Methods: English, Chinese and Korean language databases were searched up to May 2018. Randomized clinical trials (RCTs) that reported the effects of EAHM for AV were included and analysed. Results: A total of 10 randomized trials with 656 AV patients were identified. A meta-analysis of two RCTs indicated that EAHM had a significant effect on improving primary outcome 'global assessment' compared with placebo (mean difference (MD) = -2.62, confidence interval (CI) = -4.84 to -0.40, p = 0.02). Furthermore, data extracted from two RCTs showed that EAHM significantly reduce primary outcome 'inflammatory lesion count of acne' (MD = -1.25, CI = -1.68 to -0.83, p < 0.00001) and 'non-inflammatory lesion count of acne' (MD = -1.32, CI = -1.75 to -0.90, p < 0.00001). No significant difference was observed between groups in secondary outcome 'sebum of skin' (MD = -0.21, CI = -0.53 to 0.11, p = 0.20) and 'patient-reported changes in symptom' (relative risk (RR) = 2.56, CI = 0.43 to 15.22, p = 0.30). No severe adverse events (AEs) were found and no treatment was stopped due to AEs of EAHM. Conclusions: EAHM seems to have affirmative effects, but quality of evidence, and non-standardized use of EAHM make our conclusion weak. Our suggestion is rigorously designed RCTs and standardization of EAHM are required in the future.

  • Antivirus is an important issue to the security of virtual machine (VM). According to where the antivirus system resides, the existing approaches can be categorized into three classes: internal approach, external approach and hybrid approach. However, for the internal approach, it is susceptible to attacks and may cause antivirus storm and rollback vulnerability problems. On the other hand, for the external approach, the antivirus systems built upon virtual machine introspection (VMI) technology cannot find and prohibit viruses promptly. Although the hybrid approach performs virus scanning out of the virtual machine, it is still vulnerable to attacks since it completely depends on the agent and hooks to deliver events in the guest operating system. To solve the aforementioned problems, based on in-memory signature scanning, we propose an agentless runtime antivirus system VirtAV, which scans each piece of binary codes to execute in guest VMs on the VMM side to detect and prevent viruses. As an external approach, VirtAV does not rely on any hooks or agents in the guest OS, and exposes no attack surface to the outside world, so it guarantees the security of itself to the greatest extent. In addition, it solves the antivirus storm problem and the rollback vulnerability problem in virtualization environment. We implemented a prototype based on Qemu/KVM hypervisor and ClamAV antivirus engine. Experimental results demonstrate that VirtAV is able to detect both user-level and kernel-level virus programs inside Windows and Linux guest, no matter whether they are packed or not. From the performance aspect, the overhead of VirtAV on guest performance is acceptable. Especially, VirtAV has little impact on the performance of common desktop applications, such as video playing, web browsing and Microsoft Office series.

  • This study was conducted in 2014 with Osong International Bio Industry Expo volunteers as the subjects of the study. The study has analyzed whether their participation motivation, participation satisfaction, and educational training have moderating effects between their motivation and satisfaction. The purpose is to offer implications for successfully holding large events in the future. The findings are as follows. First, the internal reward, a sub-factor of participation motivation, had statistically significant effects on the six elements of volunteering satisfaction. Second, the external reward, a sub-factor of volunteering motivation, had statistically significant effects on the four elements of volunteering satisfaction: self-satisfaction about their abilities; satisfaction in pursuing changes; satisfaction in the event and satisfying interests. However, their satisfaction in self-growth and in interactions were excluded from the volunteering satisfaction elements that were critically affected by the external reward. Third, the training had moderating effects between their internal reward and satisfaction in the event. Forth, the training had moderating effects between their external reward and satisfaction in the event.

  • The heart block and bradyarrhythmia with or without Stokes-Adams attacks are serious, usually terminal events and the immediate mortality is very high. Stimulation with an artificial pacemaker is now an accepted form of treatment in cases of Stokes-Adams syndrome in which medication in unable to produce any lasting improvement. Permanent pacemaker therapy is indicated in these circumstances. The purpose of this report is to describe the successful use of pacemaker in 3 cases of Stokes-Adams syndromes and a case of sinoatrial block with bradyarrhythmia at the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, Kyungpook National University School of Medicine. Electrode catheter was passed through the right external jugular vein and attached to the endocardial surface of the right ventricle. In case 1, fixed type generator was used at first and for the case 2, 3, 4, and case 1 at second, demand type generators were used. The bipolar electrode catheters were used for the three cases and unipolar electrode catheter for case 4. The results of immediate and late period were satisfactory.

  • Recently, there has been an increase in the number of hazardous events, such as fire accidents. Monitoring systems that rely on human resources depend on people; hence, the performance of the system can be degraded when human operators are fatigued or tensed. It is easy to use fire alarm boxes; however, these are frequently activated by external factors such as temperature and humidity. We propose an approach to fire detection using an image processing technique. In this paper, we propose a fire detection method using multichannel information and gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) image features. Multi-channels consist of RGB, YCbCr, and HSV color spaces. The flame color and smoke texture information are used to detect the flames and smoke, respectively. The experimental results show that the proposed method performs better than the previous method in terms of accuracy of fire detection.

  • This paper presents the effects of design and operating parameters to meet the static and dynamic performances of the electro-mechanical valve(EMV) actuator which can provide more flexible controllability of valve events compared to conventional variable valve actuation devices. The model of the EMV system was also set up and applied to identify the dynamic behavior of the system. And the effects of external disturbances were also investigated such as cylinder pressure, armature neutral position and current supplying time effects and so on. Experiments were carried out to verify the model using the prototype actuator on test bench, it was found that there is a relatively good agreement between experimental data and modeling results. Also, the actuators meet the general engine speed range (over 6000rpm) and the variable valve event control for various VVT effects.

  • The OPAL (Open Pool Australian Light-water) reactor is currently being constructed to replace HIFAR (HI-Flux Australian Reactor, commissioned in 1958) in mid-2006. HIFAR will be shutdown for decommissioning after several months of simultaneous operation with OPAL for smooth transition of operating systems and business. OPAL is a 20 MW multipurpose research reactor for radioisotope production, irradiation services and neutron beam research. The OPAL reactor uses low enriched uranium fuel in a compact core, cooled by light water and moderated by heavy water, yielding maximum thermal flux not less than $4{\times}10^{14}ncm^{-2}s^{-1}$. The reactor containment building is constructed of reinforced concrete and has been designed to protect the reactor from all external events such as seismic occurrences and impact from a hypothetical light aircraft crash. This paper describes the main elements of the reactor design and its applications.
