The purpose of this study was to analyze the expressional characteristics of the machine aesthetics in the fashion design. First, this study was started from analyzing mechanical beauty represented on the early 20th century art style. Machine aesthetics has influenced on the art and fashion design from modern to now. Futurism was grounded in the complete renewal of human sensibility brought about by the great discoveries of science. Especially, Russia avant-garde was inspired by the Futurism, that is Rayonism, Constructivism, Suprematism. Kasimir Malevich moved on immediately to purely abstract paintings of which the first was a black square on a white canvas. He had begun the art he called 'Suprematism'. Malevich's geometry was funded on the straight line, the supremely elemental form which symbolized man's ascendancy over the chaos of nature. The square was the basic suprematist element and was a repudiation of the world of appearances, and of past art. He repudiated any marriage of convenience between the artist and the engineer. Vladimir Tatlin made some of the most revolutionary works of modern art, these were the first works to be called 'construction'. Constructivists believed that the essential conditions of the machine and the consciousness of man inevitably create an aesthetic which would reflect their time. They eulogized simple shapes. That believed that buildings and objects should be freed from the ornamental excrescences and the accumulated barnacles of past art. Consequently, under the theoretical background, the result is as follows. First, The functional formativeness of machine aesthetics was expressed as a geometrical silhouette, construction line, non-ornamental construction, simple color in the 20th century design. Second, The mechanical formativeness of machine aesthetics was expressed as a construction of new material-iron, aluminium, plastic, glass-, geometrical form of material in he 20th century design. That is, machine beauty has more concerned with the expressional ideology of the art style and the formativeness of fashion design by silhouette, construction line, material, form.

As the information-oriented society makes progress, the role of Image has much influence on human being in space as a medium for information delivery and a means of artistic communication. These influences are appeared as expressional characteristics of the image such as the reproducibility of reality and unreality in the real world, the synchrony of expression of time, visual formality, a sign and the transmission of moaning. For these, the investigator examined the meaning of image in aspace, taking into consideration of the interrelationship of image, space, and human being. As study findings show, the expressional characteristics of image in space have such visual effects as a space in which pictorial formality and object exists, in which the mutual understanding of communication exists, and that realizes immaterial membrane in the aspect of time and space, according to the electronic light, color, and formation of the image media. In addition, it become clear that the characteristic could be staged on various circumstances by constructing the relationship between an object and a point of time interactively with bidirectional communication through combining technology and art. This suggests that the image develops as the form of sensory communication via interacting of space and human being.

In comtemporary interior design, hybrid form causes cognitive turnovers of aesthetics. Especially it offers much possibility to expression techniques in interior design and works as compound system, symbolic aggregate that makes and expands various meanings. The aesthetic ideology of hybrid design can be interpreted through the philosphic concept of art, sublime, reception, representation and explains expression techniques and characteristic in interior design through various transformation and meaning conversion. The expression techinique that is a form of openness, transcendental interpretation that exceed a dupilicate of meaning. can be classified as oxymoron, defamiliarization and interface. The characteristic that is based on those expressions appears as use of complex codes of visual images, decoding strategy, intertextuality of meaning. This research attitude can explain the thinking method of interior design by defining the epistemological scheme that is basically involved in expressional styles with characteristics of hybrid aesthetics. In order to be recognized as the object of aesthetics, hybrid has to be approached by interpretational methods of expression techniques. Consequently the characters of expression techniques in hybrid design can be investigated as one of the methodology in interior design plan.

This study is about the Characteristic of glass outer skin expressions in space designs of contemporary society, due to the rapid development of information and digital technology. These days, the glass outer skin show the various images and space expressions which symbolize the informations and the society. The contemporary space designers focus on the glass as the structure materials, and purposely use the glass to achieve the structure concept which satisfies the needs of contemporary society. Therefore, it is a valuable work to analyze the meaning of glass, which has been used for the structure. Throughout the work which has been experienced by glass outer skin, theoretical studies have been achieved and recently the 14 examples were chosen as the glass structures based on the experimental research and frequency featured in magazines after year 2000, which we have analyzed in detail. Glass outer skin reflect the phrases of time in modern society, and throughout the meaning of it, we could see that the glass outer skin serve the roles in informations, interface, imaginary modernization, and as a landmark position. Therefore, in this study, we can make a definition of glass outer skin expression based on the situations of modem times by analyzing the symbolic meaning of glass outer skin in contemporary space designs.

A church architecture which has an important meaning as a place which is for worship God, relationship, education, evangelism, service and formative meaning that express as a specific form. It has been changed by age or changes of theology, also its structure and form has been changed so as to change of a rutual. the church architecture that has been authorized as a architecture which is a representation of the age does not represent the age and it has weaknesses for expression of unique identification church has. Also, because it is lacking thoughts about regional viewpoint, it loses the characteristic of regional "landmark" like the past. In addition, a place of worship has been changed materiality of space like auditorium or seats so as to change of consciousness of worship, and it is exposed problems of expression of identification. Therefore the church architecture of twenty first centry needs to holy and be able to deliver their new standards and needs that fit original purpose of church for users.

Researches for sex consist feminism which manage academically, also variously in the fields of medicine, psychology, politics, society, philosophy, culture research etc. Moreover, sex has become that can no fall in art, dancing, fashion, literature, play movie, mass media, all art fields. About the proposition of sex, even the intellectuals tended to consider sexual love and bodily problem of sexual desire until the mid-20th century. Nevertheless, passing over physical function, man and woman, society, cultural situation and the various concept which contains the differences finally clearly have come in 21th century. Therefore, on this study, find out the relationship between interior design and sexuality and sexual expressional type. Also, through analyzing aspects which is expressed in popular culture, clear new interior design under the concept and characteristic of sexuality.

Since the early stages of philosophy in ancient Greece, reason has prevailed over sensation, based on the idea that it was the recognition of the ideal world existing as the archetype of objects. Abstract concepts followed geometric models, though they be invisible. However, from the beginning of 20th century, people began to be interested in the idea in metaphysical philosophy, that reason might not be a characteristic best representing the human spirit, and that a human being is composed of emotion, desire and the physical body, in addition to reason. The study shows that paintings and constructional space have shown similar changes through the stream of time, and have a synchronistic relationship within the range of the formative arts, based on the contemporary philosophy. First of all, it defines the change of contemporary thought and its analysis words. And consider the Corporality which is one characteristic of contemporary thought. This study shows the characteristic of the Corporality in the architectural space of Rem Koolhaas whom it selected the architecture who is influenced by Post-structuralism. In conclusion, It compares paintings and architectural space and looks into the correlations among them in the category of the Corporality which is a pont of view from contemporary thought. As a result of the comparison, the Corporality in paintings is defined as (1) An escape form Reason, (2) An emphasis of experienced events and (3) A destruction of forms. It defines the architectural space of Rem Koolhaas corresponding with the Corporality in paintings has a characteristic of (1) The space of Body without Organs, (2) Becoming spatial concept of events and (3) An Unrestrained Form.

현대 산업사회에서 정보기기의 발달은 영상이 멀티미디어, 정보 전달 매체 도구, 예술 커뮤니케이션 도구로서 다양하게 표현되고 있다. 이러한 영상은 재현의 장치이며 소리와 빛 음이 복합적으로 형성된 시청각적 이미지 전달매체이다. 영상이 지니는 직관적이며 감각적인 표시성은 대상물을 재현하고 동시성을 지닌 커뮤니케이션 도구로서 또는 의미 전달체로서 허구, 사실, 비 허구, 비 사실을 모두 나타낼 수 가 있다. 바로 이러한 점 때문에 앞으로 영상의 영역은 점차 넓혀질 것이며 우리가 살고 있는 공간 속에서 감각되는 인식의 세계는 다양하게 흡수하여 반응하게 될 것이다. 이에 다양한 영역으로 확대되고 있는 영상장치와 이를 포함한 공간과의 관계설정 측면에서 본 연구는 영상과 공간이 내포하고 있을 환경적 의미 즉, 영상과 공간, 인간과 상호연관성에 대한 인식을 바탕으로 공간적 장치로서 공간 속에서 영상매체와 장치가 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 고찰하였다. 연구 결과로서 영상장치가 공간에 미치는 영향과 표현 특성은 '상호교감의 표현매체', '형이상학적 초 피막 공간 구성제','오브제'의 3가지 측면으로 제시하였다. 본 연구를 토대로 영상장치와 공간과의 관계 의미 분석을 통한 영상 설치물의 목적별 공간 접근 방법과 공간 레리아웃의 틀을 기대할 수 있다.

This study starts from the question if the characteristic of existing conventional site-specificity can be applied to the modern city space in information media era as it is. The evolution and spread of media technology acted as the catalyst which establishes the identity of an individual and promotes the social sense of belonging as the new type of community member as well as expanded the communication territory of man. Moreover, as the perfect merge of third dimensional space with second dimensional media was accomplished, the meaning of city as the place is getting changed and extended to city space as the information platform which integrates and intermediates the various information composing city. Hereupon, this study is willing to analyze the limits which the characteristics of physical, active and meaningful elements which are the forming primary factors in the existing place theory have and establish the new meaning of city as the place through the case studies which are applied by the characteristics of hyper spacio-temporal, mobility and polysemy as the characteristics transformed by information platformization of city space.

This study was conducted to consider the formation of sleeves from the point of view that dress is one of expressive arts. The formative meaning of a sleeve and its chronological formation according to its formative changes as an evidence showing the Internal changes of social culture were examined, centering around day dress of England in the 11th to 19th centuries. Then, sleeves were formatively classified and their aesthetic values were considered to help do formative, aesthetic expression of dress design in the present times. Literatures and references concerning the history of domestic and foreign dress were used as a method of study. The results of this study are summarized as follows. 1. In the women's dress, the formation of the sleeve focuses on aesthetic decoration. This means that in the androgentric society the status of women are subordinate socioculturally. 2. Sleeves were classified into a fitted shape and a extension shape according to the aesthetic formation. The fluted shape expressed the beauty of body with emphasis old natural body, whereas the extension shape represented aesthetic expression of decoration. 3. The formation of a sleeve has influence on forming an image of dress by making the silhouette of dress natural or distorted, expresses the harmonious beauty of the whole dress, and produces the expressional beauty that gives a distinct characteristic to a dress.
