The organizational ambidexterity has been emerging as the way to gain competitive advantage in turbulent environment. The concept of ambidexterity is simultaneously accomplishing the balance between the activities of exploration and exploitation, and overcoming their conflicting tension. The beneficial merits of ambidexterity has been investigated in innovation, financial performance, strategic management, and etc. Our study focused on the impact of ambidextrous activities on creative performance. Although three ambidextrous modes-structural ambidexterity, contextual ambidexterity, and sequential ambidexterity-have been already acknowledged, scant studies suggested the specific mechanisms to achieve ambidexterity in practice at the operating level. To address the issue we performed the semantic network analysis on the basis of the previous literatures prescribing ambidexterity theory. We took interview with 21 teams to explore behaviors of teams from the ambidextrous perspective, and then interpreted the relationship among words which appeared in the interview. This study found the appropriate mechanism which alleviate tension revealed by exploitation and exploration exist as practical reality. We demonstrated how these ambidextrous mechanisms can be used to generate the creative performance as well as examined various antecedents. These findings would contribute to the more fine-grained understanding of organizational ambidexterity, especially in conjunction with organizational creativity.

The purpose of this study is to provide an explanation for the association between the characteristics of a network and the type of innovation by considering the effect of absorptive capacity. To do so, this study examined the moderating effects of absorptive capacity on the characteristics of network-innovation relationship in a technical-driven venture company. In order to obtain a better understanding about consequences caused by interfirm network, information was obtained from 169 Korean IT venture companies. Results confirmed that the network diversity is positively associated with exploration. Our results also suggested that the network strength is positively associated with exploitation. Finally, we found a positive two-way interaction between absorptive capacity and the network diversity-exploration relationship. Then, we discussed implications and directions for future research.

Open-source software development projects are well suited for exploring new ideas and acquiring knowledge from developers outside of the project. In this paper, we examine the impact of external developers on innovation in open-source software development from the perspective of organizational learning theory. We examine the roles of external and internal developers, who "explore" and "exploit," respectively, on the innovation performance of 17 691 open-source software development projects whose data is stored in the GitHub platform. The results indicate that a multifaceted strategy, in which the exploitation successfully supports the exploration, is most effective for their success. The results also indicate that the role of exploration decreases after the release of the software.

본 연구의 목적은 IT 탐색 및 활용 역량과 운영기술 역량이 조직 민첩성에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하는 것이다. 최근 경쟁이 심화되고 정보기술의 급격한 변화로 고충을 겪고 있는 국내 중소 물류기업을 대상으로 연구를 진행하였다. IT 탐색 및 활용 역량과 조직 민첩성에 관련된 선행연구들을 바탕으로 이론적으로 인정을 받은 기존 연구 모형을 본 연구에 맞게 수정하여 채택하였고 이에 따라 연구 가설을 제시하였다. 실증적인 연구방법을 채택하여 2018년 국내 중소물류기업들로부터 설문지를 회수하였고 설문 데이터의 신뢰성과 타당성을 검증하고, 연구 가설을 검정하였다. 연구결과는 IT 탐색 및 활용 역량이 운영기술 역량을 강화하고 다시 운영기술 역량이 조직 민첩성을 향상시킨다는 결론을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 기존 문헌을 바탕으로 제시된 연구 모형이 최근 시점에서도 여전히 유효한지를 확인하였고 그 이론이 국내 중소 물류기업에도 적용된다는 점을 확인함으로써 IT 탐색 및 활용 역량과 조직 민첩성에 관련된 연구의 일반화에 기여했다는 점에서 공헌을 찾을 수 있다. 실무적으로는 국내 물류 중소기업의 조직 민첩성을 향상시키기 위하여 새로운 정보기술을 탐색하고 이미 도입한 정보기술을 잘 활용하는 두가지 노력이 병행되어야 한다는 점에서 기업의 실무 담당자들과 물류산업을 활성화하려는 정부 정책 담당자들에게 시사점을 제시하고 있다.

우주개발진흥법은 동 법령의 목적, 및 그 주요 개념 규정에 있어서 항공우주산업개발 촉진법과의 구별야 확연하도록 도모하고 있으며, "우주개발"의 개념을 새로이 규정하면서 이를 꾀하고 있다. 규정된 개념의 특징은 우주공간을 탐사하고 이용하는 각종행위는 인공위성 및 발사체 등과 같이 우주 환경에서 사용되기 위한 기기와 장비의 기술 개발에 의해서만 가능한 것이기에 우주공간의 탐사와 이용은 그러한 기술개발을 포함하는 개념으로 보아야 한다는 데에 있다. 이에 동법이 추구하는 우주개발은 "우주산업"과는 구분되는 것이기에 법령 체계와의 조화 문제가 극복되고 있다고 볼 수 있다. 아울러 우주개발진흥볍은 국제협약상의 의무를 이행하면서, 아울러 최소한의 규제에 의해서 필요한 목적을 달성하기 위한 방식을 택하고 있다. 즉, 우주물체의 등록제도, 국내에서의 발사 허가제도 등을 통해서 우주활동에 대한 규제를 꾀하고 있다.

본 사례에서는 국내 IT 벤처기업인 유니데이타커뮤니케이션(주)의 단계적인 국제화 경험이 학습역량 강화를 통해 경영성과에 기여하는 일련의 국제화 과정을 조직학습이론으로 설명하였다. 이는 조직의 국제화 경험이 국제화 성과의 중요한 결정요인이며 조직학습을 통해 배양된 학습역량은 경영성과에 기여한다는 기존 연구결과를 기반으로 하고 있다. 더불어, 창업기부터 꾸준히 국제화를 추진한 IT 벤처기업의 국제화학습 특성을 기존지식 활용(Exploitation)과 새로운 지식 탐색(Exploration)으로 구분하여 분석하였다. 분석결과, 대기업에 비해 내부자원이 취약한 벤처기업은 파트너 네트워크를 활용한 탐색과 활용을 통해 새로운 국제화 경험을 축적하였다. 축적된 국제화 경험은 학습 역량 강화를 통해 기업의 내부역량으로 배태(embedded)되어 궁극적으로 경영성과에 유의미하게 작용함을 사례를 통해 확인 할 수 있었다.

새로운 가능성의 탐험(Exploration)과 기존 확실성의 활용(Exploitation)간 균형은 조직 학습뿐 아니라 전략, 혁신, 연구개발의 중요한 문제다. 기술의 융복합화 트렌드 속에 기업들은 지속적 경쟁 우위를 위해 기술 지식 자산을 가급적 다양하게 보유하려는 동시에 특정 분야에 깊은 기술 역량을 가지려 한다. 기업들은 기술 포트폴리오 전략 고민하지만, 기술 속성에 대한 고려는 제한적이다. 첨단 기술의 대표인 나노기술은 기존의 제품 및 사업 중심 기술과 달리 다양한 분야에 활용되는 일반목적기술 또는 플랫폼 기술 속성을 가지고 있다. 본 연구는 다국적 기업들이 플랫폼 기술로서 나노기술에 대해 탐험과 활용, 즉 다각화와 특정 기술 우위 관점의 포트폴리오 전략이 혁신 및 재무 성과에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 패널 데이터 기반으로 다중 회귀 분석을 하였다. 본 연구의 실증 분석결과는 기존의 제품 기술들과 달리, 플랫폼 기술로서의 나노기술은 다각화와 특정 기술 우위가 증가할수록 혁신 성과와 재무 성과에 모두 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 나노기술의 포트폴리오 형태, 즉 다각화와 전문성 기반의 특정 기술 우위 중에, 다각화된 나노기술 포트폴리오가 특정 기술에 우위를 갖는 경우보다 혁신 성과와 재무 성과를 향상시키는 데 더 많은 기여를 하고 있다는 결과를 얻었다. 이는 기업들이 자원의 제약하에서 일반목적기술의 경우 포트폴리오 전략에 어떻게 추구하는 것이 효율적인지를 시사한다.

This paper presents an efficient approach for solving the economic dispatch (ED) problems with prohibited operating zones using an improved particle swarm optimization (PSO). Although the PSO-based approaches have several advantages suitable to the heavily constrained nonconvex optimization problems, they still have the drawbacks such as local optimal trapping due to the premature convergence (i.e., exploration problem) and insufficient capability to find nearly-by extreme points (i.e., exploitation problem). This paper proposes an improved PSO framework adopting a crossover operation scheme to increase both exploration and exploitation capability of the PSO. The proposed method is applied to ED problem with prohibited operating zones. Also, the results are compared with those of the state-of-the-art methods.

Numerous studies in the field of buyer-supplier relationship research have focused on the buyer's performance. In contrast, supplier's performance has been paid relatively little attention by researchers, especially the research about the supplier's innovation in the relationship is still in its early stage. In this paper, we examine the relation between the attribute of buyer-supplier relationship and the attribute of supplier's innovation through case research. We define the attribute of buyer-supplier relationship as 'tie strength' (Granovetter, 1973), and the attribute of supplier's innovation as 'exploitation or exploration' (March, 1991). We selected the semiconductor equipment industry of U.S.A, Japan and Korea and firm (JUSUNG Engineering) as cases that examine the relation. We found that a strong tie relationship is positively associated with supplier's exploitation based innovation, and a weak tie relationship is positively related to it's exploration based innovation in this research also. In addition, we could verify reduction of strong tie relationship cause supplier's organizational change.

전체문서(Corpus)에서의 두 단어 간 연결 상태를 파악하여 앞 단어 다음에 오는 단어의 빈도수를 기반으로 여러 형태의 그룹을 분류하여 단어 간 다양성과 긴밀성을 살펴보았다. 기존의 연구에서 Zipf's Power Law는 Chinese Restaurant Process로 설명되었고 Scale Free Network에서는 edged의 수에 따른 노드의 profile을 조사하여 hub들을 찾는 연구가 수행되었다. 본 연구에서는 단어 간 연결의 유일성과 다양성을 조사하여 Zipf's Power Law와 hub profile을 동시에 살펴보았다. 데이타 분석 결과 단어 간 연결의 긴밀성과 다양성 사이에서 대칭성으로 함축되는 유의한 결과를 얻었으며 이는 소위 'exploitation'과 'exploration'의 관점에서 설명될 수 있다. 또한 분석 자료인 TIPSTER에서 관찰된 약간의 대칭성 깨짐(symmetry breaking)에 대해서도 논한다.
