The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship of clothing behavior with such psychological variables as self-esteem and impulsiveness, to disclose the relationship between children's clothing behavior and their mother's child-rearing attitueds, to investigate the levels of clothing behavior according to children's sex and their mothers having job. Questionaires for clothing behavior and child-rearing attitudes were chosen from ones which were used in privious studies, and the items were selected on the Cronbach's Alpha Reliability Coefficient. For mearsurement of impulsiveness, a portion of "personality Inventory" by Beommo Chung was used, while Robinson and Shaver's self-esteem scale was adopted for mearsutement of self-esteem. Clothing behavior was composed of 6 variables: clothing interest, clothing satisfation, clothing management, clothing sex-role, clothing comfort, and clothing independence. Samples were 380 boys and girls (4th, 5th, 6th grade) of three elementary schools in Seoul, Korea. The data were analyzed by correlation coefficient, t-test, F-test, and multiple regression analysis. The results were as follows : 1. Self-esteem had positive relations with clothing satisfaction, clothing management, and clothing sex-role. Girls who had higher self-esteem were less interested in traditional sex-role attitudes in clothing. Boys who had higher self-esteem were higher in clothing independence. 2. Those who had higher impulsiveness were higher in clothing interest, but lowere in clothing satisfaction, clothing management, and clothing independence. 3. Loving and receptive child-rearing attitude had positive relations with clothing satisfaction and clothing management, but a negative relation with clothing sex-role. When mothers had higher loving and receptive child-rearing attitude, their sons had higher traditional attitude in clothing sex-role. Democratic and self-regulating child-rearing attitude had no relation with clothing behavior. 4. To lpredict clothing satisfaction, 4 independent variables (selfesteem, impulsiveness, mother's loving and receptive child-rearing attitude, and mother's democratic and self-regulating child-rearing attitude) were selected. The explanatory power of the four variables was 15%. Clothing satisfaction was most influenced by self-esteem, and not significantly influenced by mother's child-rearing attitudes. 5. Clothing interest and clothing management were higher with the girls than with the boys, while clothing comfort was higher with the bodys. 6. When children's mothers had a job, the children tended to have higher liberal attitudes in clothing sex-role.
This study aimed to investigate depression, fatigue, and role-overload in nurses caring for COVID-19 patients and identify factors affecting depression. Data were collected from 142 nurses caring for COVID-19 patients at four designated COVID-19 hospitals using self-report questionnaires, from September 8, 2020, to September 17, 2020. The subjects' scores for depression, fatigue, and role-overload were 14.51±9.54, 3.19±0.64, and 3.30±0.64 points, respectively. Depression was positively correlated with fatigue (r=.40, p<.001) and role-overload (r=.30, p<.001), and fatigue was positively correlated with role-overload (r=.54, p<.001). Factors affecting depression included fatigue (β=.23, p=.014), health status (moderate: β=.28, p=.001; unhealthy: β=.26, p=.002), and hospital type (university hospital: β=.18, p=.024). The explanatory power (R2) of the model was 28.1%. In order to manage the nurse's depression level, a strategy for lowering the fatigue level and a strategy for improving the nurse's health statue are needed.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to measure the relationship among activities of daily living, ego integrity, social support and the compliance of patient-role behavior in elderly patients receiving hemodialysis, including the effect of these variables on the compliance of patient-role behavior. Methods: A descriptive survey was conducted with 150 elderly patients over 65 years of age who were also receiving hemodialysis. Data was collected from September 28 to November 13, 2021 and analyzed using t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis with SPSS/WIN 26.0. Results: The results show that patient compliance had significant correlations with ego integrity (r=.63, p<.001) and social support (r=.28, p=.001). The other factors influencing patient compliance were the sub-domains of ego integrity, such as the acceptance of the past and the presence (β=.46, p<.001) and attitudes toward life (β=.26 p<.001), with an explanatory power of approximately 35.0% (F=17.21, p<.001). Conclusion: This study confirms that the ego integrity of elderly patients receiving hemodialysis has an effect on the compliance of patient role behavior. Nursing intervention programs that improve the ego integrity of elderly hemodialysis patients could help improve the compliance of patient-role behavior, which is an important factor in the disease management process.
The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze the impact of role stress (role conflict, role ambiguity, and role overload) on career commitment and turnover intention in small and medium-sized hospital workers in Busan. The subjects of the study were 418 nursing and administrative workers engaged in hospitals and general hospitals in Busan. Frequency analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis were conducted for empirical analysis. The results of the study are as follows. First, significant differences in some research variables were identified according to gender, age, educational background, marital status, and working years. Depending on the job type, there were significant differences in all variables such as role conflict, role ambiguity, role overload, career commitment, and turnover intention. Second, role stress was found to have a significant negative effect on career commitment and a significant positive effect on turnover intention. Among the role stress, it was confirmed that the role overload had the strongest influence on career commitment and turnover intention. This study is meaningful in that it analyzed the influence of role stress, including workers in all occupations, including nursing jobs, and empirically revealed the meaning of role stress as an explanatory variable of career commitment and turnover intention.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of sex and gender role identity on college life adaptation. The participants were 142 male and 146 female students. The university life adaptation scale and gender role identity scale were carried out, and we conducted a parallel multiple mediator model using Process macro. As a result, while the effect of sex on adaptation level and resources was significant, the explanatory power increased to a meaningful level when effect of gender role identity was considered. In the adaptation level, the effects of masculinity and femininity are similar in magnitude, but in the resources, masculinity has a more positive effect. Finally, male students were mediated through masculinity and female students were mediated through femininity, which has a positive effect on adaptation. These results suggest a differentiated guidance direction according to sex and identity, and suggest that enterprising and challenging spirit is important.
This was a descriptive study to investigate the effect of social support and health literacy on sick role behaviors in hemodialysis patients. A total of 149 outpatients receiving regular hemodialysis at four dialysis centers located in J city were surveyed. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple linear regression. Factors including social support (β=.37, p<.001), health literacy (β=.16, p=.035), and religion (others) (β=-.25, p=.001) had an effect on sick role behavior. The explanatory power of model in this study was 22.0%. Therefore, the improvement of sick role behavior in patients undergoing hemodialysis requires specific strategies and interventions that are effective in increasing the social support and health literacy.
Purpose: This study was a grounded theory research aimed at generating a substantive theory that accounts for the explanatory social processes in which immigrant Korean single-mother families were engaged in the United States. Methods: In-depth interviews were conducted with 15 immigrant Korean single mothers who were living with children under 18 years of age at the time of the interviews. Data collection guided by theoretical sampling and concurrent constant comparative analysis of the transcribed data was conducted to identify the core social process. Results: The emerged core social process was "living for the children," which represented the driving process by which these women made transition to their new lives as single-mother families. The major task throughout the entire transition was re-creating their families. The women's transition involved practical and psychological transitions. The practical transition involved three stages: assuring family survival, struggling between the father role and the mother role, and stabilizing. The psychological transition involved becoming strong and settling in with a new supportive network. Conclusion: Study results added to the literature by elaborating the women's emphasis on maternal identity and the resilience-provoking nature of the women's transitions.

Corporate governance has received massive attention in academic research nowadays due to several recent corporate failures. Inefficiency of corporate governance mechanisms have driven the minds of the researchers and the policy makers to look with more insights into this area. Board composition, as part of corporate governance mechanism, plays a significant role to achieve company's goals or objectives and ensure transparency and accountability. The objective of this study is to find out the efficiency of board composition through board size, independent directors and female directors on firm performance in the listed manufacturing firms of Bangladesh. In this study, a sample of 162 firm years are considered as the sample during the period of 2011 to 2016. This study finds that large board is the significant explanatory variable in improving firm performance. This study also shows that board independence and female directors have no significant association with firm performance which implies that instrument of corporate governance mechanism particularly board composition is very weak. This study recommends that code of corporate governance, specially the role of independent directors and female directors, should be reformed in the light of cultural and institutional context along with the effective enforcement.
