  • This paper is intended as an development of moving load simulation techniques. The concern with dynamic problem of railway bridge caused by the moving train loads has been growing. Over the past few years, several studies have been made on dynamic stability of railway bridge analytically. But very few attempts have been made at experimental research. From the dynamic stability view point, the moving train loads simulation test is revolutionary idea. It can be replace restrictive filed test with new laboratory test. This study investigates minimum specifications of hardware and basic parameters. it is used 39m girder and 4 actuators for experimental verification.

커먼레일 디젤기관용 피에조 인젝터 그룹홀 노즐의 분무 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Spray Characteristics of Piezo Injector Group-hole Nozzle for Common Rail Diesel Engine)

  • In order to meet stringent future emission regulations, especially to reduce Particulate Matter (PM) and NOX, stoichiometric diesel combustion technology with a piezo group-hole nozzle injector is being researched for reduction harmful emissions. A new nozzle layout, namely a group-hole nozzle, which has one group of small orifices with a wide spray included angle was investigated to improve the efficiency of stoichiometric diesel combustion. From this point of view, the group-hole nozzle suggested by Dense Co. is an attractive candidate method applicable to stoichiometric diesel combustion. The group-hole nozzle concept is to reduce the injector nozzle hole diameters without sacrificing spray penetration by closely locating two holes. Experimental studies have proven that the spray from group-hole nozzles have similar spray penetration to that of a single hole with equivalent overall nozzle hole area, but the spray drop sizes (SMD) are reduced, aiding vaporization and mixing.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 현실적인 지형DB 품질향상 방안을 마련하고, 이를 토대로 기존 토지종합정보망의 DB 구축 및 유지관리 절차와 방법, 기준 등을 보완하여 지속적인 품질향상의 기반을 마련하는데 있다. 이를 위해 지형DB를 사용하고 있는 사용자를 대상으로 품질 만족도 및 요구수준을 파악하였고, 제안된 품질향상방안을 구체화하고 검증하기 위해 원시자료의 평가, 기하 및 논리오류 수정, 그리고 준공도면을 이용한 유지관리에 대한 실험연구를 수행하였다. 또한 지속적인 품질유지 및 향상을 위해 관련제도의 정비방안을 제시하고 지침을 보완하였다.

Prediction of Bending Fatigue Life of Cracked Out-of-Plane Gusset Joint Repaired by CFRP Plates

  • Carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP), plates bonding repair method is one of the simple repair methods for cracked steel structures. In this study, the influence of width of CFRP plates on bending fatigue life of out-of-plane gusset joint strengthened with CFRP plates was investigated from the experimental and numerical point of view. In the bending fatigue test of cracked out-of-plane gusset joint strengthened with CFRP plates, the effect of width of CFRP plates on crack growth life was clarified experimentally. Namely, it was revealed that the crack growth life becomes larger with increasing the width of CFRP plates. In the numerical approach, the stress intensity factor (SIF) at the surface point of a semi-elliptical surface crack was estimated based on the linear fracture mechanics. Furthermore, the extended fatigue life of cracked out-of-plane gusset joint strengthened with CFRP plates was evaluated by using the estimated SIF at the surface point and the empirical formula of the aspect ratio of semi-elliptical crack. As the results of numerical analysis, the estimated fatigue life of the specimen strengthened with CFRP plates showed the good agreement with the test results.

실린더 근접후류에서 위상학적 구조와 2차 와류의 상호 관계 (Interrelationship Between Topological Structures and Secondary Vortices in the Near Wake of aCircular Cylinder)

  • Characteristics of secondary vortices is topologically investigated in the near-wake region of a circular cylinder, where the Taylor's hypothesis does nut hold. The three-dimensional flow fields in the wake-transition regime were measured by a time-resolved PIV for various planes of view. The convection velocities of the Karman and secondary vortices are evaluated from the trajectory of the vortex center. Then, saddle points are determined by applying the critical point theory. It is shown that the inclination angle of the secondary vortices agrees well with the previous experimental data. The flow fields in a moving frame of reference have several critical points and the mushroom-like structure appears in the streamline patterns of the secondary vortices. Since the distributions of fluctuating Reynolds stresses defined by triple decomposition are closely related with the existence of secondary vortices, the physical meaning of them is explained in conjunction with the vortex center and saddle point trajectories.

대청댐 저수지 퇴적물의 용출특성과 수질에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on Release Characteristics of Sediment and its Impacts on Water Quality in Daecheong Dam Reservoir)

  • In order to solve water quality problem of domestic dam reservoir, many projects have been performed in a point of view to restoration of water quality. This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of release from sediment on water quality and release characteristics. Daecheong dam reservoir was investigated for two years, from 1998 to 1999. The nutrient release rates of Daecheong reservoir is less than foreign eutrophic reservoir at anoxic condition. For the evaluation of the effect of nutrient release on water quality, internal and external loading was calculated at Daecheong reservoir. As total phosphorus loading from sediment is calculated 9.3 ton/yr and inflow loading from Daecheong reservoir watershed 118 ton/yr, internal loading shows the portion of 7.88% to external loading. At this study, because sampling point was choosed at the point where much sediment is accumulated, experimental result is more than average release rates. Because Daecheong reservoir shows complete thermal stratification and anoxic condition below 30m from water surface in summer seasons, released phosphorus from sediment can not transfer to epilimnion and eventually resettles. Therefore sediment has insignificant impacts on water quality on Daecheong dam reservoir.

  • In a practical vibration isolation system, vibration is transmitted from the source to the receiver through several paths such as more than one inter-connected point and multi-degree of freedom at each connection point. Therefore, the major path investigation for vibration transmission among them is often required in a point of view of isolation. For the path analysis of multi-dimensional vibration isolation system, it is useful to employ the concept of vibration power in high frequency range where radiation of noise from the receiver structure is concerned. The idea is simple to understand and formulate but rather complicated to apply in practice. For an accurate estimation of power flow especially over a high frequency range, it is well known in theory that rotational motions should be taken into consideration together with translational motions at inter-connected points. In reality, however, power transmissions related to rotational terms are often neglected mainly due to difficulties in the instrumentation. In this paper, necessary formula and measurable mechanical quantities for vibration power analysis will be reviewed and experimental results with rotational terms included for compressor system in a commercial air conditioner will be shown.

동맥 전단부의 역학적분석을 위한 새로운 실험적 방법 (A New Experimental Method of Mechanical Analysis for Arterial Cross-Section Research)

  • 동맥전단부를 연구할수있는 새로운 실험방법과 기계역학적 분석방법을 제시하였다. 지금까지동맥역학적 연구는 대부분이 동맥의 길이방향과 원주방향에 대한것이 이였다. 두께방향의 변형은 포아손비라든지 비압축성가정으로 이론적으로 결정되었다. 또한 두께에 걸친 변형의 변화도 무시되었다. 그러나 병리학적인 의미에서 동맥의 두께에 걸친 변형도와 변형의 분포는 중요한 의미를 가진다. 그러므로 본연구에서 제안된 실험방법과 장치는 두께전반에 걸친 변형을 측정할수 있게 했다. 또한 전단부의 부위별 변형도의 관찰이 가능하고 병리적인 동맥경화증에 대한 현상과 역학적현상을 상관시킬 수 있음에 중요한 의미를 들 수 있다.

Reserve capacity of fatigue damaged internally ring stiffened tubular joints

  • Offshore platforms have to serve in harsh environments and hence are likely to be damaged due to wave induced fatigue and environmental corrosion. Welded tubular joints in offshore platforms are most vulnerable to fatigue damage. Such damages endanger the integrity of the structure. Therefore it is all the more essential to assess the capacity of damaged structure from the point of view of its safety. Eight internally ring stiffened fatigue damaged tubular joints with nominal chord and brace diameter of 324 mm and 219 mm respectively and thickness 12 mm and 8 mm respectively were tested under axial brace compression loading to evaluate the reserve capacity of the joints. These joints had earlier been tested under fatigue loading under corrosive environments of synthetic sea water and hence they have been cracked. The extent of the damage varied from 35 to 50 per cent. One stiffened joint was also tested under axial brace tension loading. The residual strength of fatigue damaged stiffened joint tested under tension loading was observed to be less than one fourth of that tested under compression loading. It was observed in this experimental investigation that in the damaged condition, the joints possessed an in-built load-transfer mechanism. A bi-linear stress-strain model was developed in this investigation to predict the reserve capacity of the joint. This model considered the strain hardening effect. Close agreement was observed between the experimental and predicted results. The paper presents in detail the experimental investigation and the development of the analytical model to predict the reserve capacity of internally ring stiffened joints.

스테레오 영상 보정 알고리즘에 기반한 새로운 중간시점 영상합성 기법 (A New Intermediate View Reconstruction Scheme based-on Stereo Image Rectification Algorithm)

  • 본 논문에서는 비교정 상태의 스테레오 입력영상에 영상보정 알고리즘을 적용한 새로운 중간시점 영상합성 기법을 제시하고 그 성능을 분석하였다. 제시된 방법에서는 먼저, 좌, 우 스테레오 영상의 각 화소 간들에 대한 유사도 및 모서리 검출을 통해 특징점을 추출한 다음, 이들 특징점을 이용하여 스테레오 영상간의 움직임 벡터와 에피폴라 선을 검출하였다. 그리고 스테레오 영상간의 수평선을 일치시킴으로써 좌, 우 스테레오 영상을 보정하고 최적으로 적응적 변위추정 기법을 이용하여 최적화된 중간시점 영상을 합성하였다. CCETT의 'Man' 영상과 스테레오 카메라를 사용하여 촬영한 '사람' 및 '자동차' 영상을 사용한 중간영상 합성 실험결과 본 논문에서 제안된 보정기법으로 교정된 스테레오 영상의 경우가 비교정 상태에 비해 'Man' 영상은 3.6㏈, '사람' 및 '자동차' 영상은 2.59㏈, 1.47㏈의 PSNR이 각각 개선됨이 분석됨으로써 본 논문에서 새로이 제시한 스테레오 영상 보정 알고리즘 기반의 중간시점 영상합성 기법의 실질적 응용 가능성을 제시하였다.
